  1. If go by the stats list we have access to, then it really was just a generous move and nothing else by Lelutka. All those AK, Logo and Bespoke are really a non factor in the mesh heads market. Good to have for variety if someone wants to, but nothing else. And that's how free market works. There's usually a clear market leader and they get to decide what to do with their position. Back in 2015 (pre-bento) to 2018 Catwa was untouchable, and all they did was mass producing same-ish heads non stop and trying to bully (DMCA) smaller creators as we all remember. Then Genus happened and even that was enough for people to dump Catwa, and finally Evo heads in the early 2020 followed by Evox in 2021 with mass (free) updates a bit later that year. Some people always like to yell at the "problems", same thing was going on with Maitreya since 2014. Slink and Belleza fans kept saying how terrible and monopolistic Maitreya is and how dominant they are, how no one makes clothes for the other bodies and so on. Then Legacy happened, then (currently) Reborn. Total numbers are not as big as Maitreya's, given how many years it was around, but even with absolutely terrible reputation TMP had they did show that it's possible to introduce a competitive product on their own. Reborn shows even more so, if it'll continue as it is, then they'll make it to the 2nd most popular female mesh body on the grid within roughly 1.5 years since its release. So, the point is, other creators always had and do have ways to make new, innovative and popular products despite starting from the chasing position. Examples above and Lelutka themselves, who had a fraction of Catwa's market back into the original bento (Origins) heads line. They managed to take over the market, someone else might as well. Won't be a Catwa with their current line, however. As Legacy shows price is not really an issue for many people, and given that fatpacks of original mesh clothes often go for over 2k alone, 4k or 6k for the head really makes no difference as long as it's the desired product, which HDPro heads clearly are not.
  2. If I understood correctly, then it's very likely LL said about putting account on hold (and then probably shutting it down). If someone buys L$, uses them to acquire things, and then does a charge back through their bank, which is possible, then I can see LL putting account on hold as it will have a negative balance. Most if not all of similar/gaming services will do exactly the same or it would be too easy to play the system.
  3. Lelutka user here since pre-bento days that never liked Catwa heads even back when they were a market leader. But the whole HDPro line is especially terrible looking in my opinion. Same old caricature-like animations and the general look that you can say "it's a a Catwa head" from 20m away without zooming closer. So 6k or 4k, it makes no difference for me, and it's not amount of EvoX content available as the main reason. If I wanted to swap from Lelutka for some reason I'd consider AK ones first, maybe even Genus (not a big fan of those either), but definitely not Catwa. Also "lol trying to sell ancient non-bento obsolete heads for 2.25k". Same for the not updated/not supported anymore first bento heads for 2.65k, but especially the non-bento ones. In the current SL those are truly worthless. I suppose they still get some money from newbies (actual ones) who browse MP and that old garbage shows up. Last year I did help a few people to upgrade from that and it was always "It did show up on the MP, so I thought it's a good choice." kind of reason, until they found themselves not being happy with own look compared to what they saw around. And indeed, like already said above, too late. Edit: Given previous Catwa practices (and that overpriced non-bento stuff I've already mentioned) I would also translate that message as: Business has been dead for 2 years, HDPro heads didn't get popular with only one new head released in a year. Time to try and squeeze at least a tiny bit more money until it dies out completely.
  4. Forums are forums, but you said how it's not included anywhere inworld. If you're using firestorm you can find related settings under preferences>general. If you choose to not trim the "resident" part then it'll show like that in the nearby people window and minimap as well.
  5. Depends on the viewer settings you can see the "resident" part just fine. You can/could always change either first, last or both names when you pay for the name change.
  6. Nothing. I already don't buy things with heavy bakes. And sadly I don't really expect creators to drop the highlighting via bakes for a long long time after PBR is out. Also if Bento and Animesh is something to go by, it also will take a really long time until good quality products will start to show up. Compare 2016 bento heads to the today ones or even ones from 2020 - 2021 (Evo - Evox launch times), it's day and night difference. Same for the animesh. Early animesh pets/animals weren't any good, these days there's some really nice ones around. Textures might be easier to make than complex meshes, but I still think it'll be a long while until people learn "how-to". As for the skins, I actually have no idea if it's going to benefit them much at all, unless someone uses a materials enabled shine/tattoo, those might become even more interesting with PBR, but it's just not something most people use at most times. Currently best practice on both mesh bodies and heads is to actually turn down or completely disable the glossiness and intensity for the better compatibility between meshes/materials made by different people, or the neck seam becomes rather obvious since it'll never match how light reflects from said different meshes. PBR is unlikely to change anything in that regard.
  7. Siwa, Ubon and Vivian are a bit closer to the Gaia in their rigging, although not exactly the same. Similar about those 4 (Gaia is the older one with fox ears) is the eye depth that is considered default, which is 80 (for their other heads it's 50), so entire rigging is based on that and is quite different because of that as well. I didn't like either Tae or Wade enough to mess with the demos, so I don't know if their latest two male heads share similar rigging. Cheekbones on those definitely can go big, although below 40-35 slider values they are pretty normal, below 20 and they are thin. Rather versatile heads those are. Vivian a bit less than the other two, I couldn't get lips anywhere close to the shape I like on it. But I'm glad they are making different heads given how many they've released already even if those will never get the mass appeal like the Avalon, which is pretty, but the most standard of their heads. Maybe that's why it's their most popular head by far.
  8. Broken for sure. Just tried and it makes no sense. Used gmail as the domain and put on a random characters and letters to test it out. For example jane4242 works, jane4142 does work too, but jane4342 does not. Same for the other numbers/letters combinations. If there's a patter what the system doesn't want to accept I couldn't really figure it out.
  9. First you wear a replacement for the shape, system eyes, brows (system hair) and the skin, then delete those. Those can only be replaced, not taken off completely. If either of those 4 system layers (types, not just exactly those you're wearing now) somehow gets corrupted or deleted, because SL will do its SL thing, then you'll appear as a cloud until you put on a replacement.
  10. The price cut before the previous one (and the last I already didn't care to check) had all big and known estates decrease their prices. Land impact upgrade in 2016 also wasn't any different, I remember keeping the same parcel with the same tier, but getting more li (it was when when they've upgraded private regions from 15 to 20k and homesteads from 3.75k to 5k). I suppose in the following days, perhaps weeks, we'll see if the same big estates decided to lower the fees again, or to keep it for themselves this time around. If even one really big land lord will do this, then others will probably be forced to follow or their prices won't be competitive.
  11. About 2 years ago buy fee went up from 5% to 7.5%. I don't believe tier ever went up in the 10+ years I'm in SL.
  12. They are not that lower to sell much (if any) more land. Those who already have it will continue to have it, just for a bit less. Those who don't... well, it's really not that much of a difference. Assuming someone rents 1/4 of the full 20k li region and land barons will actually reduce their prices as well. It'll be 5$ less a month. Smaller parcels will have even less of a change. Hardly enough to motivate someone to get some land if they didn't had it before. At best it may keep a few people from dropping their already existing full regions, because it's pretty much a "free month" compared to the previous prices. Now if it was a big decrease, say to 100-120 range for the full region, then it would sell more land indeed as a lot of the current homestead owners would want an upgrade (although assuming homesteads would be 50-60 then, some would prefer to lower their fees and just keep a homestead). I would argue with that. First of all there's way too many different people in SL who prefer completely different activities and value different things. You said you saw the value in land, while for me mainland is worthless, they could offer 1/4 of the region to go with it, I still wouldn't take it for my own use (could be worth taking for the rental reasons, but then market would get flooded with similar offers anyway). Heavy shoppers have some use for the 140 groups and extra slots at the full events in the opening days, casual shoppers don't really need it as much, and those who buy a new outfit once a decade don't need it at all. Free textures/animations upload have some value to creators, a bit of value to just people who like to take pictures, and are worthless to those who rock their 2007 profile picture to this day. I believe most of the perks they can think of will be about the same thing and it's really difficult to make PP any more attractive. Not to mention there's a very thin line between introducing actual new perks without taking away from the base/basic experience. I still remember the outrage when they tried to take away free group slots, and I'd say it was rightfully done. Basic users doesn't mean "freeloaders" after all. Thankfully premium is not needed to own a region or to buy L$, so I had premium exactly for a month when it was needed to change the username. If I'll ever feel like I'm being forced to get the premium, because basic experience became worse while they still continue to take the same amount of money for my region (which is far more expensive than the PP) and L$ purchases, then I'll consider abandoning my region. I'm quite sure LL thought a lot on those matters too, and this is why premium/PP are exactly what they are today, it's very difficult to balance making them attractive, yet not taking away from the base experience. It's just "more of the same" so far.
  13. They can/could do that anyway, you don't need to cash out to pay the tier or any other USD-only services (premium tiers, name change, region moving/ region's name change). Selling L$ and using USD's balance for it has been a thing for ages. Unless you meant the sell fee in the first place. But unless a merchant will/does utilize the premium plus' free textures uploading perk fully it's still cheaper to just sell 61k worth of L$ (assuming full 20k region) with a 5% fee, than pay ~8kL$ for a premium plus (assuming montly plan, if annual, then it's around 6k L$ a month) to access this perk. If they already have it, then yeah, it's extra ~2.8k saving. --- As for the changes, I suppose I'll save a bit with that change. Buy fee was 7.5% I believe, so it's 2.5% increase with a cap of 14.99$ (it was 9.99 if I'm not wrong on that either). Assuming buying 50k L$/month on average (in one transaction) it'll be 5$ more now, but 20$ less for a region. Some math can be off, it has been a long day, but should be something around that. Been a while, but the cut before the last one when I was still renting parcels (and thus bothered to check for the good options/alternatives) had most big/known land barons adjusting their prices within a few days. We'll see if they got more greedy since then or not sometime soon. No one likes fee increases, but if an extra 2.5% increase makes the difference between "buying and burning" and not buying anything, then perhaps buying and burhing L$ wasn't such a good idea in the first place. It's 2.5$ extra per 100$. And in my opinion if someone has spare 100$ to spend at entertainment stuff, such as games, SL and so on, then extra 2.5$ won't make a difference for them. If they don't, which is understandable especially in the recent years with everything that's going on in the world, then they already had a way better use for those 100$.
  14. Check what else you're wearing as something is deforming your avatar. It'll be either an actual deformer, but it's unlikely as you wouldn't buy/use it by mistake, some "sexy animations/dances HUD" with built-in deformers or a sex attachment like V which also has built-in deformers somewhere in its HUD. If it won't be something obvious, then detach everything that is not a body, reset skeleton and start adding other parts of that saved outfit one by one until you'll see the same deformation happening.
  15. World tab on top>area search. The rest should be obvious.
  16. That might make it easier. Copy-paste it in chat when you're in SL. secondlife:///app/group/c1ef137b-eabb-bec4-4c7a-ca42053b2af1/about And when in doubt just check the creator's profile, in 99% cases they are member of their own groups, so that makes it easy to find the group you need.
  17. If it only happens at your home and you're 100% sure it's not attached, then you must have rezzed it by accident. Do area search and delete it if that's the case.
  18. I (I'm sure plenty others did the same) did drop a note to their CSR account after new FS was released and got an answer that they'll pass it to creator. Latest few releases of theirs do have a transparent root prim now as well. I'm not sure if they are going to update all of their hair or at least the current 4.0 line with that or not, but it might be worth asking at least.
  19. Depends on the store. I see plenty of 500L for the body pack around big monthly events where I usually shop at, which is exactly 1k for the two bodies. Would I consider a third body for some reason it would be 1.5k already. As for how it's not being sold and to clear the confusion. Like I've said I don't need more colors than black, and very rarely white, with even more rare exception being denim. So for me the rest of the fatpack is a useless addon, which makes those body packs exactly ~500L$ for one color I'd actually use. I rarely bought/buy fatpacks for exactly this reason with some exceptions here and there when singles aren't mod and fatpack are, and if I also knew/know I wanted to mod it, or when fatpack had/has some exclusive features (actual features and not just some extra colors) I'd want.
  20. I get that some creators really want to make a bit of extra and some even make their rl living on that, and it's their right. However most (not all, though) stores that try to push the body pack model lately are rigging for far too many bodies and/or mods. Again, it's their right, and I won't call it greed in most cases, but it's still a self made problem them are trying to "solve" by separating body packs. My favorite few female clothing makers only support the top 3 (Maitreya, Legacy and Reborn), with Petite/Perky/Juicy whenever it's needed and makes sense, which is not always. None sell by body pack and as far as I know they don't plan to. A few more creators I also like, including a few I know personally, support even less bodies, Legacy and Reborn plus occasional mod like Maze if the release fits it. None of them sells the body packs either. Top few male (original) clothing creators I know support 2 to 3 bodies too, none sells the body packs a well, although their prices are already above average as is. As far as my own preferences go - since that trend started I've bought exactly one of such "body packs" at the full price. A few at the weekend sale prices. I do swap bodies and what's more important, I really have no use for other colors than black, and rarely white. So for me it's a terrible deal as I would end up paying more for the same 1-2 colors by either buying 2 body packs, or even more by buying the fatpack (if available it usually includes all body sizes in such cases). We'll see how it goes, but so far those body pack creators only lost money on me as I'd buy something in the color I want right away, but instead have waited until it became available at the weekend sales because I'm not paying ~1k L$ for one clothing piece in one color in two body sizes I need. Many creators use better unpacking scripts these days that let you choose the size you want. More should do it, too, and hopefully will. That said deleting extra sizes, landmarks, notecards and textures from the folder shouldn't really take you more than a few seconds in most cases. So unless you make a new outfit every hour it's a non issue.
  21. Yes, the amount of efforts needed to setup a throwaway griefer avatar. It doesn't really matter if we're talking about one or a few of them, can easily add that virtual credit card as you've mentioned. But when we are talking about hundreds (sadly it's the case in some situations) of them daily, then adding a payment info onto each one is a lot of extra wasted time and efforts. I have yet to see any store using this option, however. Then again I'm sure some do, I've seen some stores used that voodoo system as well for no reason whatsoever, with an extra pop-up warning how "everyone should be aware it's used". Does it really matter in this case? Instant eject orb will be even worse for those groups.
  22. Not sure about your budget and how "not too expensive is", but I wouldn't save on the head. It's something you always have on just like the mesh body, so it being a good looking (opinions might vary) and well supported (that's not an opinion, you need a EvoX head if you want a well supported head with new content) is rather important. if budget is an issue, get a temporary free Genus gift head. it's not very pretty, but still better than an angular system heads, and try to save 4k for a Lelutka EvoX head of your choice. Skins can be cheap if you hunt them on weekend sales, even from top skin makers. Investing half of that price into a less than perfect/not supported head is a waste of money in my opinion.
  23. Some people are just like that. I used to know one person a few years ago that would do the same and not just to me, but to a few more people she knew. And if it wasn't inspectable, like animations/poses/skins/makeup for example, then she'd keep asking. I didn't mind it during the first few (quite a few really) times, but then it became rather annoying as it would happen every single time she'd see me with something she didn't recognize. I've ignored her, and then later blocked (one of a very few non spammers on my block list) as ignoring didn't really help.
  24. It will work fine as there's no rigging or mapping differences between 3.0 and 3.1 versions on any evo/evox heads. Only rigging change was when they've updated the first few Evo heads to the "boundless" rig, which happened in the 2.5 update, so none of the previous shape would look fine on that rig (they still include dated versions with those heads in case someone really doesn't want to change their shape, though). It still will be a gamble, however. Depends how honest shape creator is. A good light (not just EEP, but also a rezzed lights around when taking a picture) and especially some post-processing like Reshade and extra editing via Photoshop combined with a perfect angle might make a shape look way more appealing than it does in "real time" even if you'll follow the style card to get the exact skin, makeup, addons, hair etc.
  25. That's not how normal search engines work by default (even if they do have such and many more options for the advanced users), so expecting people to know (or bother) to use all the boolen when they just want to find a "legacy black dress" is rather optimistic at best too. They'll just get frustrated it shows them random stuff and close the MP. Perhaps that's why it'll be fixed/changed, though. Since LL takes 10% cut per MP transaction and a fee when merchants cash out, they'll notice the drop in MP sales/cashing out (because MP sales will be less for merchants) and might actually check why it's happening. But we'll see. I'm glad I don't really use the MP, though. It was barely usable before, now it somehow became even worse.
