The candy bucket doesn't have to be IN your house. I set mine as close to the property line as possible on my sidewalk or on the porch for my stilt. I'm excited to see the event return. I created a spreadsheet for regions with slurls right in the center of each region. They've added a lot of regions this year though, so more fun!

This! Studio Exposure and Ison have gotten a lot of my weekend sale money this year. Ison does put out new (or updated) items out for FLF and TSS, and I love him for it. Those fatpacks during FLF are amazingly affordable. I do sometimes go to C88 and spend full price, but I'll often wait for a big sale too. It just depends on how much of a Veruca Salt (I want it now!) mood I'm in. Sales also introduce me to new stores that are promising (Hilo, for example) for someone with my style tastes. Shop & Hops are always great for free seasonal items, and in general if I like a store's gift, I'll like their other stuff. It doesn't upset me if I pay full price and then see the same item in a weekend sale. I understand there's a premium on getting something immediately versus having patience.

You don't mention if this is a desktop or laptop. Basically you're dead in the water for SL if you're using onboard laptop graphics as has been mentioned above. Intel graphic chipsets are crap as far as the Second Life viewers are concerned. I couldn't run SL on a laptop until I "stole" my fiance's gaming rig. My desktop specs are as follows, and I have no issues in SL except in crowded sims. These are older parts, but they work fine. I don't normally run everything on ultra because I'm not a photographer/blogger. I have the Black Dragon viewer, and these specs kind of push my desktop to its limits. Amara Beauty has (free!) body skins that seem to match well with a lot of other stores' face skins (other than the fantasy colors). I usually wear AB no matter where the face skin comes from.

I usually decorate for Halloween and Christmas in SL. I enjoyed the pumpkin hunt that the moles put on in Belli last year, so I got to see a lot of other people's decorations. I'm getting a feeling they won't do it again this year though.

Closing the QEII thread was a bad call by LL. There are events going on in SL in memory of her, and it would have been nice to have been able to post links to said events for those who wish to attend. Poorly done, Lindens.

Interesting development. After I posted about ONE STORE in the event having a machine with 45 items in it in NextUp, I find myself banned! Someone's wayyyyy too sensitive about their event. I was complaining about one specific store. Geez. I can't remember the last time I got banned from a sim. I guess you don't want my money, toots.

I wouldn't delete my inventory. I'd probably post a note in my profile (if I had warning of impending demise). I would definitely remove my payment info and change back to a basic account though, but considering I pay yearly, it'll be Premium for a while. I doubt my fiance would want my accounts, but if he did, I'd give him the passwords. He doesn't do SL, so maybe he'd do the deleting if he could figure it out. It would be nice if one could "will" one's SL belongings to someone else. My main's (this one) inventory would make some noob very happy. I guess I could hand over my fairly significant collection of nice gacha items to someone.

If you're asking about music clubs (not live music), there are some clubs that have been around as long as I've been in SL (14 years) and more that have been around at least 10 years. Ohana Rock Club Wet Willie's Blackheart's Big Daddy's Fogbound Blues You've got to have good music, DJs who aren't egomaniacs, and hosts who are good at encouraging active conversation in local. I give extra points to clubs where constant gesturbating is frowned upon. Don't rely on "Best In..." contests to bring in people (that encourages an alt fest). I consider it like the bar in "Cheers." I like a place where people (not just the staff) know my name and greet me when I come in. No club can be staffed 24/7, so have the place staffed at high traffic times in SL for whatever part of the world you're in or wherever your preferred clientele is. I suspect that it took much longer than a few months for these clubs to build their reputation.

Funny thing about the comments about training children to like gambling through gumball machines: there are these doll sets I see in Target and other stores all the time now. You don't know what you're getting, other than it's a doll (usually tiny) and/or its accessories. I got one once just out of curiosity. Same goes for beauty boxes where one cannot see what one is getting. I grabbed one at Meijer the other day just out of curiosity. It was cheap ($5), but I was still disappointed because I did not get any (what I would consider) beauty products. I got some Chapstick, some shampoo samples, etc. There was no makeup, blush, or eyeshadow which is what I consider beauty products. I was kind of miffed about it because the package illustration basically showed makeup, blush, and eyeshadow. At least with these new Arcade machines, I know what I'm getting, and I get to decide if I'm willing to buy a few unwanted items to get the ones I want. I didn't get that choice with the doll and beauty boxes. I might buy one item to get the item I want, but I no longer will play multiple times. It's really annoying when I want a common item that just will NOT show up anywhere in the stack (7 days and 2 avatars, and I still haven't gotten the common I want). NextUp event started today, and I saw one store that had 45(!) items in its machine. That's a big fat NOPE.

Having Meta style avatars would mean a large number of us would leave the grid, including me.

Not SOON. They wouldn't even say at the Meet the Lindens event where they showed a demo of it. It'll be 2023, I'm sure.

Well, there's the Kalhene Erika event which just opened today. I looked through what was available and wasn't impressed much.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who refuses to use Velour body skins because of that shine. I know greasy/shiny/sparkly/sweaty skin is popular in SL, but I don't like it forced on me when there are so many shine BOM layers available OPTIONALLY). In general I use Amara Beauty's body skins because they blend well with most of the BOM head skins I have, have no shine, and best of all, they're free! The body skin component will also be critical on whether I decide to buy Belleza's new product.

I'm game to try it. I wonder if someone out there is going to be game to try creating deformers that would allow original Belleza clothes to fit it? How many stores are going to jump on board to update existing clothes to fit it (sounds like it might be difficult/impossible to do though)? Is it going to be Mod? Is it going to respond better to sliders than previous bodies? What are these promised new features that are going to blow us away? Big $64,000 question is whether Lelutka will be on board with this. If their heads won't work with these new bodies, it'll be a splat from the start considering how many have EvoX heads now. Whether I buy or not depends strongly upon which stores actually create for it. If my favorite stores opt out, I'll opt out on the body, as I spend no time naked in world except when I'm changing outfits. If they pull an EvoX with a new UV map for the body, I don't expect a huge number of skin and BOM clothing creators to jump on board. It was difficult enough adapting to the new map for heads. I've been wanting a body that's slightly rounder than Maitreya but not at Reborn/Kupra levels. I bought Reborn for an alt, but even with deformers, her butt annoys me. If there's a discounted intro price (chances are slim, I know) I might buy it and keep it in storage until we get an idea of how stores will adopt or not. It'll be interesting to watch as this develops.

Odd. When I look at a map, I can see Titanic on the Yumix Land region, but it's empty looking in from an adjacent parcel. If you're itching to look at a huge modern cruise ship, there's one off the coast of Bellisseria. The regions are called Galaxy FORWARD, Galaxy MID, and Galaxy AFT.

Zooby is as close to realistic as it seems to get for cat avatars in SL. I was trying to find one myself. Jinx does some pretty good animal avatars but they've never offered a cat. I'd like to see someone make a Rezz Room quality cat avatar in something besides ginger. I'd like black or tortie or Siamese. I'd be willing to pay a decent chunk of change for something like that with an excellent HUD. I'm probably not the only one.

I've already heard some grumblings and complaints from folks who believe Freya & Co. will not be updated. With over 100 stores being in this introductory event,, this will definitely rattle some chains. Thoughts?

I've found that the stores that no longer create for Maitreya have an aesthetic I'm not interested in. I can't say as I've seen a non-Maitreya outfit and thought, "Darn, I wish I had that body so I could wear it."

I got that message the other day when I had not even teleported anywhere within the past 15 minutes, not one TP, much less 6. I think I had to log out and back in to get that nonsense to stop.

I only have FB for real life me. Once upon a time I had one for Lysi, but it got yoinked. This is why I get so aggravated at stores who have giveaways wherein one must like, comment, subscribe on FB. There's no way I'm going to connect my avatar to my real life on FB. I have Twitter, but I don't use it. I don't do any of those other social media sites. But hey, I can date myself here. How many of you used Plurk for your SL selves back in the day?

It's hard to tell with the neckline of that dress, but it looks like your neck may be a bit too long to be proportional. Without seeing a side view, I can't say for sure if your muscles are proportional. Do you WANT to be proportional though?
