  1. Oddly enough, I blocked one spammer(the group subscriber for this one shopping region/event which I will not name). Shortly thereafter I found myself banned from the region. Go figure. So I assume this subscribo had some function to tell the owner who has blocked it. It was just all around stupid because I didn't need 20 notecards a day about their region/event.
  2. Fwiw, I rely on Amara Beauty's body skins (and they're FREE) no matter what head skin I use. Granted, I'm not super ***** retentive about the looks of my body skin since I don't run around naked, but her tones match up really well with other creators' head skins courtesy universal neck. I'm wearing Velour in my profile pic but that was for a certain look that I don't wear very often. I don't like the shininess on it, but I wanted a fantasy tone for a vampire look.
  3. Tetra has a group gift of BOM lingerie in quite a few colors (bra, corset, panties) that I rely on heavily. The group fee is 50L, but you also get a few more gifts. I almost always have a pair of those panties on because pervs are known to derender mesh clothing to get their jollies. Friday has some BOM layering tanks in multiple color combinations. Riot has a pack of tank tops in a gajillion colors in three types (short crop, mid crop, and long). You'll probably run into issues with mesh tops clashing with mesh bottoms. Unless you buy full sets of tops & bottoms together, this will happen. This is why I recommend stocking up on a supply of BOM pants/leggings. I have some from Mooh, Gawk, and C'est la vie. Baby Monkey also has BOM layer clothing. C'est la vie is often in weekend sales.
  4. Welp, my favorite clothing designer did the 25L bump. I bought one item because color HUD. I purchased in one color originally back when he was only selling single colors. I skipped the second item because I have to draw the line somewhere. I already had it in a single color. I may go back and get it when I get my Tuesday stipend. I also picked up a necklace that had a price bump to 85L, but it's a nice necklace with a jewel HUD. Then I hied myself off to Happy Weekend and didn't buy anything. HW may find itself a LOT more popular now. My rule of thumb has been that I only allow myself to buy linden dollars once a month and only a set amount. Then I live off my stipend when that runs out. I'm seriously considering dropping the linden dollar purchases, even at once a month, because girl has got bills to pay in the real world. Where I used to fatpack some things, I have to think really long and hard about it now.
  5. Because I'm petty, I would tear down everything I have (usually Victorian theme, lots of flowers and trees, etc.) and rebuild in a total opposite style. Make it hideous. Make it goth. Make it outer space. Make it Barbie pink. If you're planning on moving, why not have some fun with it and see if the copy cat follows suit. I also have the inventory that makes it possible to do mass changes like that without having to spend a bunch of money.
  6. I saw it posted on TSS' Facebook page. If people don't follow them on FB, they're in for a surprise if a lot of stores up their prices. They also did not allow comments on that post which is probably understandable. They are likely to take some heat for this decision.
  7. I didn't buy a single thing at Skin Fair. I've gone back a couple more times, but I simply didn't see anything that I just had to have. I may go back to get AlaskaMetro's eyeshadow pack because she always has good prices, but I've given myself a rule that I can't buy anything that isn't unique to what I already have in my inventory. I've reached a saturation point with makeup because I have what seems like ALL the colors. I don't go for all of the diamonds and swirlyques and undereye globs that seem to be popular these days. Even my favorite shops that are at Skin Fair seem to be rehashing products I already own. I also don't wear tattoos, and I make my own shapes. I'm ok with not getting any gifts. Most gifts (aside from the Christmaspalooza thrown by Lelutka) just aren't to my taste. Cocoa Matrix's gift was cute, but I didn't see any skins I wanted to purchase to get that gift. I wish Izzie's had been there with some new correctors/products. I probably would have purchased something. Izzie gets me just about every Friday she's in FLF.
  8. Since someone posted about the Catwa price increase, I thought I'd bring up the Saturday Sale announcement that the highest price is going to go from 75L to 100L. What are your thoughts on that? My thought is that if a product is a great buy for 75L it will be a great buy for 100L. If it's a template design or a repeat of the same thing the store offers every week (I know of one store at least that just repeats the same old stuff) or poorly made, I won't buy it at 75L, much less 100L. Conversely, I can see people deciding that 25L extra lindens is too much, considering everything in RL costs more these days. Everyone has to draw a budget line at some point. I'm definitely curious to see which stores decide to bump from 75L to 100L though. Someone(s) must have been been pushing them to allow an increase.
  9. I have no interest in returning to Catwa and Genus. I can't forgive Genus for ignoring us about the wonky eyes on their heads for YEARS. It could have been an easy fix, but nope. When you slack off so much fixing obvious problems in your product, you will lose customers. That and they lied in Genus group chat for years too. They promised that eye fix for sooooo long, and then eventually killed their group chat. I picked up the free Queen head a couple years ago. It didn't do anything for me (or my alts). The idea that Catwa bans people for daring to critique their products is repellent to me, so I'm not a fan. I wasn't impressed with the head at Skin Fair (their ads always just look bad), and I was even more unimpressed with the price. The reduced price is not incentive enough for me to reconsider.
  10. Tres Beau has a gift skin (and a couple other accessory gifts), but it's group only. Group join fee is 150L.
  11. Addams is a common enough name to not automatically be assumed related to the movies and tv show. Primdashian is enough of a change that I doubt the Kardashians would go after it, however... "The Kardashian brand name is a multibillion-dollar brand and is protected with several measures, including appropriate registration with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). As of 2022, Kim Kardashian has 72 registered trademarks." It wouldn't surprise me if they would come after SL if they allowed that last name. SL is not going to take that risk, and I doubt they would pay a likely hefty sum to the Ks to be allowed to use it. As for Vanderpump, they have filed for some trademarks for their name, but I can't tell if they were approved. People can get around it by using trademarked names in their display names. I really don't know how much LL monitors what's used for those.
  12. Would SL have to ask permission for this? They might even have to pay $$$ to license the rights to the name because I'm pretty sure any reality show family will have all of their names trademarked in some fashion. Not that I'm interested in yet another family whose only contribution to society is reality shows.
  13. Skin Fair has been heading down the "everything but skins" hole for a couple of years now. Used to be, ALL of the big skin stores were at the fair. Now? Not so much. If they didn't fill up the slots with makeup, tattoos, and shapes, the place would be half (or more) empty. Same thing has been happening at Hair Fair too. You rarely see the top hair stores at Hair Fair recently, so they fill up the space with hair accessories. Why the disappearance of the big names in these events? They know they can rely on their reputation to make sales? The events charge too much for a booth? They don't want to donate a certain percentage to the charity? Gah, I remember when Hair Fair was THE EVENT of the year. It was difficult to get into, and the lag was a nightmare, but the builds were amazing. The big names were always there.
  14. I'm pretty sure (without logging in) that Wasabi has some braids like this. Magika has some braids, but I don't know if any of them are french braids.
  15. SL has lost another long-term resident who gave a lot back to the community in the form of her popular fishing outfits and lucky boards, not to mention her huge store. She seemed like a really fun person through her posts and style. I knew she had been fighting cancer and hadn't heard anything recently. The news was posted in the Second Lifers for Life Facebook group yesterday.
  16. Peeve: Women's clothing that always has nips poking through the fabric. I don't always want to walk around SL on high beams, so you've lost a sale from me if all your stuff has protruding nips.
  17. Trends are possibly the last factor in how I decorate my SL house. I do not like the lack of upper cabinets that is popular now. I don't want to show off my collection of mismatched dishes, pots, and pans. My factors for SL decorating: 1) Do I like it? 2) Will it fit in my land impact allotment? 3) Can I afford it? I have a LH Victorian house, so #4 is usually: Will it fit in a Victorian style home? I'm ok with a few idiosyncratic pieces, but I like to mostly stick to theme.
  18. I see this having as much chance to get implemented by LL as Patch volunteering to pose for RL nude photos.
  19. I'm just imagining what the Vic area would look like with campers mixed in. *shudder*
  20. It wasn't hard to get my Vic at my dream location. Someone posted it in the When Did You Last See a LH Available topic, and I saw the post quickly enough to go grab it. My Vic is my main house. My alt's stilt on pier is my vacation house. Unless they come out with a new style that's truly spectacular, I'm staying put. I'm not making any other alts premium as I'm not interested in the other styles. Srsly, it's too bad Fantasseria is not popular because there are so many empty homes in that section.
  21. Still peeved by people who post sideways photos on Flickr and blogs. I'm not putting a crick in my neck just to see what you're wearing. When will this fad ever die!?
  22. At my very first house in Belli, I had a neighbor running a player piano CONSTANTLY. It irked me to no end. If I was in my house I couldn't hear it, but any time spent outside in my hot tub meant I heard it. It took me forever to find the source of that, even doing the closer/farther routine. I had to do an area search and basically go through all the objects on that piece of land and eventually I found it (it was a TV playing a video of a piano being played) and blacklisted it. I could have just sent a notecard, but that homeowner was NEVER online. I've always used the blacklist feature liberally when I've had eyesores for neighbors in Belli. Thankfully the Moles keep it mostly under control, but some of the media players I encountered while doing the Halloween pumpkin bucket hunt about turned my hair gray. There are a lot of people in Belli who leave their media players on p0rn 24/7.
  23. Ditto! There are certain stores that send out the same spam at least 5-10 times a day. I guess they do it because a lot of SLers don't ever look at group notices, but still, they don't need to bombard us.
  24. The links on the Top Merchants tab or the On Sale tab? When I click on the 4 digit codes on the Top Merchants tab, I get nada.
