Someone is faking me on pictures in SL. AI/avi copying program

Recommended Posts

QUESTION to my SL friends!
I have a SL stalker who took pics of me and my partner and fabricated them with AI replacing my ex with other guy lol. Eventually she copied my avi using well known "magic" program. I saw her on radar walking closer (at some point was 8m away) on our sim but thought she got ejected at some point. I was afk for couple of hours, then saw on local chat she was there.
I already sent harassment reports but I wonder is there something else I can do? this person is using multiple accounts all with AI pics and was using them to get money from my ex partner (posing as a model as he was providing paid model opportunities). She sent him pics from another account (male one) but forgot that creator of those pics was... her lol One thing that wonders me that she post those pics on her feed and I don't think you can upload pics from your inv (unless I'm wrong?) so I would tend to think she copied my avatar which is also illegal.
I assume it's a revange on my ex partner as he posted in his picks a picture and link to flickr of one guy who were *****ing his ex wife (she was "posing" for him) so as a revange ""AI queen" chosen me as a target now. Guy was similar to the one on pic with "me".
Summarize, what else can I do? We assume this person has many more accounts, more than 2 that contacted with my ex lately. He was paying for model opportunity so we assume those "aggresive" girls with AI pics who were his models are same person

There's so much wrong with your post, it's hard to know where to start.

You need to edit out the name, naming and shaming isn't allowed on the forum.

There is no "magic program" to copy somebody else's avatar.

It's easy enough to find out what mesh head, mesh body, mesh hair, mesh clothes, mesh shoes, and mesh accessories you have on, but they cannot find out or copy your shape, or your skin, makeup, etc.

Having an AI profile pic is not a violation of the LL ToS.

You can't upload pics to your my.secondlife.com feed at all, but you CAN post pics directly to the feed, then download them to your pc, and upload them to your inventory.

No, it's not.

I removed her name. By copying avatar I mean the viewer that is copying someone’s avatar not the fact someone copy the items I’m wearing. Someone did it on purpose to pretend it’s me doing some stuff with someone’s so it was made on purpose. My question was if someone used AI to edit it or copy my avatar using program. All was made just to take a picture of me which is ridiculous. The fact you don’t know program like this exist doesn’t mean it’s not existing. It’s enough to search in google a bit. It is illegal but people are still using it for some reason.
Using AI is not illigal but someone was faking me on pictures in her feed and on pictures „someone” sent to my ex partner (yes, person on that pics looks exactly like my avatar). that was what I stated in my comment. She send fake pics of „me” to my ex partner from fake account for some reason. If for you it’s totally fine with t&c maybe we should all start to fake pics of each other

Not really. I never said AI pics are illegal. I said she faked ME on pics. That’s a bit different, isn’t it?
What’s more, I stated above read about viewers to copy someone’s avi. If someone catch you using it you get instant ban. It’s a bit different than getting list of products someone’s using. It’s actually creating a literally copy of someone’s avi. That’s why my question was either was it AI or she copied me with program as I can’t see any other possibility.

I emphasised the fact she’s using AI pics on all accounts to state it’s all same person. At any point didn’t say AI so is illegal. FAKING someone’s pics - I think might be. The thing she’s doing is a pure harassing.

i wouldnt let what goes on in flickr get to you.   Don't let someone  get to you over some pictures they are making.  i think if you get involved with someone in SL.  you can tell them about it otherwise just ignore them.

She posted it on her feed in her sl profile, she sent pictures to my ex sl partner from some other profile but forgot pictures have creator which was her. His ex wife was the one someone posted pics on Flickr.
I’m laughing about how silly life this person has but on the other hand why would I accept someone putting me in sexual situations with other people? I don’t think it’s funny at all. It would be easier if she post them on Flickr as I could contact with support (well, soon my pics will be probably on Flickr too lol) In sl I’m able just to send a report. Can’t find an option to open a ticket.

Okay you're considerably muddling and confusing the waters with the AI shenanigans. Let me pull some FUD teeth before this spreads further. No. You can't convincingly fake Second Life pictures using AI at the moment. There are no public models trained on Second Life. You could create one based on existing checkpoints, maybe on a LORA base but that would still be affected by cross pollination with the dataset and the result would decidedly not look like Second Life.

Case in point:

Doing this needs technical knowledge and hardware to pull off. That's what you can more or less do on consumer hardware. In theory, one could make a foundational model based on Second Life, sure - that would cost thousands upon thousands of dollars in computational power and would frankly crash into a hard issue of Second Life just plain not having a coherent enough look for it. I doubt your stalker has got Elon Musk kind of money for this nonsense.

What you're probably confused by is the whole Deep Fake thing. Which, yeah. It already is illegal and courts are dropping the ball in following through with cases where it happens. These work because there are foundational models based on human faces. If you were to use it with Second Life, you'd get an absolutely uncanny, very obvious image since there are considerable differences between how real faces are structured and how second life faces look - especially the lighting.

They might be using AI to make images but they're not using AI to fake your avatar or become an imposter. If you think you can and know better, be my guest, just be forewarned that I'm the crazy gal that actually reads the research papers on this damn technology.

Now for the other stuff. You can report someone for abuse, if you feel like you've been wronged and stalked. Frankly - I did check the mentioned profile and saw no evidence of that but you do you. I am not sure someone also having a slim blonde avatar constitutes stalking and copybotting but - if you feel wronged, do make that report. If you're feeling very petty and wronged, you can report them for the obvious porn in their profile feed. https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Adult_Content_FAQ#What_about_profiles.3F

Although that might be a very double edged sword. Just saying.

Honestly, this looks a "wee" bit overblown.

So what are you suggesting? How you think she could fake those pics? Just simply in photoshop? My focus is more on what can I do with it.

Frankly I am not seeing the fakes. It's a person with a slim blonde avatar. I could go to any popular place and within ten minutes take ten more shot examples of someone having such an avatar. Still if you think you are being harassed ->

And with that I'm ducking out of this thread.

No. This will be seen as a dispute between residents. Block and ignore the account, and get your friends to do the same. They will only behave this way so long as they get attention.  The person doing it is probably an Alt of someone else you know.

There is so much drama here that I don't want to touch. The nearly unintelligible writing is overwhelming for me too.

What I will say is that one can upload pictures from their inventory, as long as they are full permissions. Open the picture or texture. If there is a button in the lower right corner that says [Save], right click that to save it to your computer.

Consider it as a compliment, that someone else wants to be you and feel happy about this is happening.
Walk around cheerful and tell your friends: "Look someone likes my appearance so much, they made a copy of my avatar, cool or what?"
And then case closed and on to new adventures.

That's a loooooooooot of drama in one post.  I'm not even going to address if I believe what you think is going on is actually what's happened.

All I can say is that in SL it's like the Old West & you're on your own UP TO certain points & right now it seems that whatever is going on is going to fall on you to ignore & avoid.

Stop posting things on your profile & exterior websites you don't want anyone with ulterior motives having access to.

& lastly- Sometimes you have to walk away from whatever investment  you have in an avi and start over on new Avis & create new habits & friends.

So yes, it is entirely possible for someone to fake pics of you and others into the same picture. They could use a cb viewer but also can use a 3d scanning script (Opensim) or just use individual pictures with an AI program like Stable Diffusion. The following picture was done with a 3D scanning script of my avatar and then the model put in a RL pic:

Screenshot2024-02-19020348.thumb.png.5d83f7b02af52062d1e037d38055cbed.png

The next pic was done by a friend through stable diffusion using 2 separate pictures and combining them to produce the desired pose. We did not pose inworld for this. I'm not exactly certain how it is done but since my friend made a private 2GB SL/Opensim model file, i'm supposing that might have helped.

If you believe someone used a copybot viewer to copy your avatar the only thing you can do is report it to LL via the Abuse Report link in your viewer.

I think you, you and your partner, should take a break from your main avatars and create some alts to have fun and reconnect by going to places you've never been before and simply enjoy second life without thinking about the stalker. You could try creating avatars with similar names if you want. Maybe even go shopping together and recreating yourselves. Just do things that won't identify you to the harasser.  A stalker thrives on having your utmost attention and this is a way to break that cycle of dramatic behavior.

Not responding at all works the best.. If they think you care, it just fires them up more to keep going..

Just block them each time they show up. Let them make a zillion accounts if they want you living in their head rent free.. Just don't offer free rental space in your head.

Looking forward to it and I think there might be some working already on how to do it.

Yes, and then again NO.

What people seem to be missing is this important FACT.

The OP is complaining that their "enemy" is making FAKE pictures of them, and "Uploading to their Feed", that is, the SecondLife web feed/profile, on my.secondlife.com.

You can post a picture directly to your feed from the snapshot feature in the viewer, but what you CAN NOT do is save to disk, edit to insert "fakery", and then upload too the feed.

If you check the OP's feed you'll see they left a comment on a snapshot on their "enemies" feed. A comment about reporting them for "faking a picture of me".

In fact comparing the pictures on the "enemies" feed and the pictures on the OP's feed suggests that the phrase "copying my avatar" translates into English as "making an avatar that's white, blonde, and has a skinnier butt than mine".
