Land changes, features updates etc. What are your speculations or what are you hoping they announce this year? There's been so many changes and improvements lately (both "live" and "coming soon"), I will be surprised if there are more announced that we weren't told about. I really do hope they don't just parade it around as a display but actually release it and the dev kit and let us get on with it already. I'd like to create for it. I might be good at that-but even if I'm not I would really like to give it a shot. The main reason I want to create for nux though is because it will be mostly used by new people or people that can't afford an expensive-and they mostly are-mesh body. I think it would be nice to create something for those people. Also it would be nice to see ll actually do something-in full- they've been calling soon for way too long already. LL might get some new people to sign up and stay. LL should also have the Premium Plus houses ready to show. Nux avatar. I can't imagine using it, or that it will take over for Maitreya. SarahKB7 Koskinen Posted June 21, 2023 Share Posted June 21, 2023 (edited) I hope and expect much from such important annual events, but I always walk away from them disappointed and saddened after the Linden's "Great Plans", changes and announcements are made, as they often promise much but deliver very little in return to benefit the majority of SL's users. These event announcements can often anger me too. I know of some genuinely good improvement ideas for SL from SL's actual long-term users, who often have more inworld SL experience and better ideas than some of the Linden's themselves. But these user ideas are either ignored, brushed under the carpet with false hope, or do not fit into predetermined and overly secretive Linden Labs future plans. SL and Linden Labs biggest problem is that it isn't democratic and doesn't give it's users what they actually want, but instead only gives what LL's staff think what their users want. Conifer Dada Posted June 21, 2023 Share Posted June 21, 2023 (edited) My guess, which I mentioned before on another thread, is the the NUX avatars will be announced and fully showcased at SL20B but will not become available until after SL20B closes. The reason I think availability will be after SL20B is because if they're available during the event, everybody will be busy trying them out instead of attending the event! It's quite a milestone, 20 years. I'd expect something MUCH bigger than previous years to be announced, but have no idea what, as I have no hopes or expectations. A free, open to all developers body, with no restrictions on who can develop for it. I think it's gonna be hella popular and beats paying thousands of Lindens to be locked into one single body, in the on going 3D mesh body monopoly, without spending thousands more. If they come out with Bento Nux heads that would be even better. SL needs to return to the days when anyone can log in and just create for the "default" body without needing the super special permissions to use the super special developer packs, that in some cases, require your RL details to obtain. 1 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I remember when they vaguely promised the ability to determine an animation speed via script, rather than being set in stone after upload. I wonder whatever happened to that idea, soon™️ I guess.
