In SL? Maybe cute food/drinks. Plushies. Wearable keychains attached to a pair of keys attached to a holdable drink (thinking Hive, here). Sure, casino shirts. Plushies wearing casino shirts. 😄 Hats. A cute, sporty car (Vegas had that - a car in the lobby you could "win" as a jackpot). Some shot glasses with the logo on there for decor. Lots of stuffs.

Gacha!

This is really the last thing I expected LL to make, after banning gachas I thought it was an ideological stand against abusive practices. But a money-sink casino with no payout, while technically legal, seems like a 180° turn from what I imagined was policy to protect its users.

If they have no value, LL wouldn't charge money for them- the ATM would give you an unlimited supply every time you click.

"The first dose is free" is the motto of drug dealers.

If this was the case, junkies would just rotate through a big list of dealers for huge savings.

Useless but weird observation: There's a separate 28m x 36m parcel carved out for the "Low Stakes Play" section. Has its own landing point.

Neither parcel appears to be listed in Search although the region name turns up in search results along with the Destination Guide entry. If you search for "Helios Casino" though (or any "Casino") it will fuss: "It seems you've searched for something outside our TOS, or outside your current maturity settings."

Where exactly? I reread TOS and could not find that.

Section 2.3...

Except as otherwise described in any Additional Terms (such as a contest's official rules) which will govern the submission of your User Content, you hereby grant to Linden Lab, and you agree to grant to Linden Lab, the non-exclusive, unrestricted, unconditional, unlimited, worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual, and cost-free right and license to use, copy, record, distribute, reproduce, disclose, modify, display, publicly perform, transmit, publish, broadcast, translate, make derivative works of, and sell, re-sell or sublicense (through multiple levels)(with respect to each Product or otherwise on the Service as permitted by you through your interactions with the Service), and otherwise exploit in any manner whatsoever, all or any portion of your User Content (and derivative works thereof), for any purpose whatsoever in all formats, on or through any media, software, formula, or medium now known or hereafter developed, and with any technology or devices now known or hereafter developed, and to advertise, market, and promote the same. You agree that the license includes the right to copy, analyze and use any of your Content as Linden Lab may deem necessary or desirable for purposes of debugging, testing, or providing support or development services in connection with the Service and future improvements to the Service. The license granted in this Section 2.3 is referred to as the "Service Content License."

I could explain how drug abuse and manipulative personalities work, but that's not really relevant to the point that including a free demo doesn't make something free.

Yes, found it, ty. They give themselves non-exclusive rights to your stuff and at the end, suggest that this is for debugging/support purposes.

Try searching for "Social Casino"?

That's more an also sentence.  The first part basically they can do anything they choose to do with it.

otherwise exploit in any manner whatsoever, all or any portion of your User Content (and derivative works thereof), for any purpose whatsoever in all formats, on or through any media, software, formula, or medium now known or hereafter developed, and with any technology or devices now known or hereafter developed, and to advertise, market, and promote the same.

Hopefully they wouldn't sell copies of our stuff on the MP!

More likely use our stuff in advertising, videos, as templates to make their own, etc.

I can see LL using their "God-rights" to read our otherwise "no mod" scripts to see how we did things. 'Cause they are Gods!

Nope! I made a post on Twitter about that. God of funerary rituals and guide to the underworld is our Casino host. Seems fitting for how this Casino is going.

Perhaps a Hindu deity would be more appropriate, because there seems to be some interesting karma effects going on lately.

Which one? They are all karma-relevant! I guess Kali is my obvious choice (for complicated reasons I won't go into).

Not sure the fascination with Casinos and "Egypt", except 1) Las Vegas was a desert before being "built", and 2) The ongoing and perennial universal fascination with Egypt.

Probably Lakshmi for the gamblers 💲 Kali for the protesters? 🌩️

So I don't know am I the only one that finds it a little unsettling that Anubis, god of the underworld and graves and stuff is SocialCasino Linden's Outfit of choice? XD it's surely nice and well made but also ...an interesting choice 😆

*Didn't wanted to derail the Mole thread 💜

I thought that it all seemed rather intentional when I visited.  Anubis/underworld imagery?  Environment choices that give the impression of heat?  "Gambling" with no possible benefit?  Ability to purchase extra tokens if you did actually play for long periods of time, but only in relatively expensive packages?  The place is called Helios? (Yes, I know what Helios means, I'm just saying.)

Perhaps my sense of humor is just odd.

Regardless, I thought the build was lovely and I'm always happy to see new applications of experience tools and the rest.
