What's even more amazing is you can still buy it on Amazon!

I surmise that no one is being tasked by LL to buy and sell the same copies over and over (like a "cult") to keep the book on some "best seller" list!

I had wondered if there was a Kindle version so checked ("not currently available"), odd that there's a separate "digital" version (also not available) at a higher price than Kindle.

I found it not worth it's money. Never got further than somewhere halfway.
So I got rid of it elegantly, ready for a second life in someone else's bookcase.

We were cleaning out the garage, and I found this ancient relic in a box.  It's the official guide put out by LL in 2007.  What a hoot!

I had that book! Not sure what ever happened to it? Maybe discarded during one of my moves over the years. I believe that I had 2 or 3 from that series from the same publisher about SL. And had a smaller book by a different publisher that talked about the history of SL. Several chapters about a grey goo prim that plagued SL or something like that.

SL was attacked in November of 2006 by a worm that created self-replicating rings, similar to the ones from Sonic games. When users touched them, the rings multiplied, filling the grid with what LL called "grey goo." The service was closed briefly to clean up the rings and their nefarious code.

I initially came to SL quite early in it's development.

It failed to impress, so I turned to other things. Mostly, I think, because of the third world internet that Austalia had at the time making it just too laggy for words.

Then some years later a friend lured me back and as we were exploring she told me about all the stuff I had missed. The sims that had come and gone. The spontaneous events that had just happened which were amazing.

I'm still kicking myself for missing out on all of that.

Do I look like I'd do that sort of thing?

So was I! I read a newspaper article, and wanted to log in to this metaverse.

Long before Yuckerberg got the idea for the meta stuff!
