I joined in 2020 after researching the Metaverse. I was going to buy some Meta stock, but decided against it. I came across Secondlife then and joined. But I joined way back in the 2000's when I was a teenager but forgot about the account. I think I only lasted 2 weeks back then.

Oh no!!! That's terrible. I wish you could explore on my computer for a bit. SL is so amazing and beautiful. What a shame! Will you get a new computer soon?

Does asking for friends in world on the forum really work?
Robberinthemuseum replied to Kathlen Onyx's topic in Make Friends
No I haven't. But I have contacted people in world whose posts in the forum I liked. I have barely enough time for my current friends, never mind making more. And there are always more. The problem with me is that every time I meet someone new, well most times, I feel a connection and want to get to know them which takes a lot of time and emotional investment. Most of my friends prefer to hang out 1:1, so I don't go looking for more. I often see people posting for friends and am curious, but don't have the time to invest in new friendships. -

I have no issues accepting people in SL or RL. But one thing that really surprised me in SL is that the people with the most beautiful, expensive and realistic avatars were a hell of a lot stranger than the people who have non-human avatars. When I joined, I accepted people as they presented themselves. I still do, but now that means something different to me. Before, beautiful avatar = attractive person. Now, beautiful avatar = shopaholic, blogger or slex addict 🤣. Mostly shopaholic. My avatar is realistic because I like Flickr and the photos are more aesthetic with a realistic avatar. When it comes to personalities in sl, you never know what someone is going through in rl. I am accepting to a fault, unless that person has targeted me for some kind of abuse or manipulation campaign, and then it's block derender! SL isn't my main social outlet though.

how to play less seriosly
Robberinthemuseum replied to Gabriel Isodo's topic in General Discussion Forum
SL is more like a third space where people do whatever tf they want. I think maybe you would have a better time if you approached things like this. I have the opposite problem. I didn't know in the beginning it would be a problem, but I'm a very curious person and genuinely interested in seeing what others are doing in SL. People are beautiful and it's like a window into their soul. So, sometimes people become upset with me because I don't have time to completely immerse myself in their world or become interested in something else. I have had to distance myself from some amazing people in the past because of this. Maybe you are expecting too much of people and they get turned off. Maybe it would be more productive for you socially if you became not a main character when in sl. You might find it more rewarding. -

Not sure how he finds me every time
Robberinthemuseum replied to Myrthe Mysterious's topic in General Discussion Forum
This is my worst nightmare. I don't know how he is finding you. I would have freaked out and left SL altogether in your shoes. Creepy af! -
Anonymouse helps me test animations before I buy dances or furniture. Its name still gives me a chuckle....oh the cleverness of me.

Yeah I wasn't paying attention. I skimmed through. Child and teen avis make me and a lot of others uncomfortable. But it's up to you. You'll never know till you try. The point I was trying to make is that people would instantly recoil without letting you know why because they don't want a debate. Anyway, it's your sl 😘

I would tp away immediately if there were child avis on sim. A lot of people are like this. I also would not go to a pub that allowed children in rl. I think maybe choose a dinkie or tiny avi of you want people to go to your club. If you don't want your club to be successful, allow child avis.
