I can't believe that they are still actually selling it. Not even an update? -
Ancient SL History: Or, Where Have the Years Gone?
Rhun DeCuir replied to Rhun DeCuir's topic in General Discussion Forum
I'm coming up on my 15th rezday in a little over a month. Where has the time gone? -
We were cleaning out the garage, and I found this ancient relic in a box. It's the official guide put out by LL in 2007. What a hoot!

Again... It's not at all an issue with the skin. It's only the shape. I can't get the exact same 3D shape for the nose, mouth eyes or chin.
-
It isn't an issue with the skin - The skin I use has both original BOM and Evo X versions - so no changes there. It's purely the shape.
-
This is more of a rant than a question, but why did Lelutka change the shaping when they upgraded their heads? I upgraded the Skyler head on my alt, and now the original shape I had doesn't work! I loved the look of that alt, and try as I might, I can't' get it back with the new EvoX upgrade head! I'm going to have to go back to the older version. Did they really need to change it so that the same shape no longer works?

What are some more of your pet peeves?
Rhun DeCuir replied to Madelaine McMasters's topic in General Discussion Forum
Also, if someone doesn't like something you've made, It's not an attack on you. Different people have different tastes. Don't take it personally. I've seen far too many creators who go on the offensive if someone dares to not love everything they've made. I've seen people get attacked even for creative feedback. Chill. -

Rhun DeCuir replied to Madelaine McMasters's topic in General Discussion Forum
Cancel Culture. If someone laughs at a comment that you find offensive, please attempt a dialog with them instead of instantly raising an angry mob of your friends to attack them, dox them in RL, and get them banned from events. Especially when that person isn't from the US, English isn't their first language, and they have no clue about certain cultural issues common in the US. There is no need to destroy someones life over a misunderstanding. -

Earthquake for noobs.... Sparta NC 5.1
Rhun DeCuir replied to SpiritSparrow Skydancer's topic in General Discussion Forum
As a life long Californian, I can say that this clip perfectly sums up how we deal with earthquakes. -
Ah... 2008, when we were young and primmy... Someone mentioned talking to other AVs with the same last name. This story is not about Rhun, but my first alt. One day, I had taken this alt out for a spin, when I met a woman with the same last name. She saw my alt and yelled "LITTLE BROTHER!!" She offered friendship, and we're still good friends to this day. She still calls that alt "My little brother" even though she mostly interacts with my primary.

Thank you! Having good CSRs is essential. They will bring in more in repeat business than they cost in wages and benefits. Far too many companies see CSRs as just minimum wage canon fodder. We trained that a CSR should never be a barrier between the company and the customer, but a bridge. But, it's not just up to CSRs. Every person in the organization needs to embrace customer service, especially the owner or CEO. I would urge any business owner, who finds themselves too busy to attend to customers or feels that they are not good at it, to hire a competent CSR.

Was the customer rep another actual person? I'm pretty sure that any AV whose name is the store name is an alt. And don't get me wrong, the majority of the store owners who actually responded have been excellent. The owner of the store where I got the empty package got back to me in a couple of days, and sent me the whole fatpack of the shirt as an apology. It's just a shame that so many will ignore you instead of trying to fix the issue. As Drakonadrgora said, you're just a receipt number. And by the way... I was a customer care professional for 28 years. I know bad customer service when I see it, and how you can fix it.
-
I have to agree. I now only try and contact the owner if I didn't receive the correct item, or something was missing. (I once paid L$250 for a shirt, and the only thing in the delivery HUD was a picture of the product. Redelivery just gave me the same empty HUD.) 9 time out of 10, I never hear from the owner, or if I do, it's something brusque and dismissive. Many owners have something in their profiles like "Please send any store related comments to <storename> Resident." I now realize that they do that so they can more easily ignore customers. If a store owner acts like their customers are beneath contempt, they get added to the list of stores that will never get any further business from me.

Sellers, You Are Losing Sales Because of Timed Demos
Rhun DeCuir replied to Jennifer Boyle's topic in Merchants
Timed demos are annoying, but still better than no demo at all. I don't care how nice it looks in the picture, if I can't try it on, no sale. And there are some major well known menswear merchants who don't get a dime from me because of no demos. -
WTF SL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rhun DeCuir replied to AugustVonHelson's topic in General Discussion Forum
I once lost some gachas that I had just rezzed when my region suddenly went down, along with several neighboring regions. It was amusing, however, when I logged back on and found myself at an Infohub surrounded by a gaggle of naked fembots and hebots. -
My thoughts: I generally don't mind the landing points, unless they force you to travel half the region to get to the actual store. If you want to show off your landscaping skills, fine. But give us an option as to whether or not we want to wander around in it or not. There is one store that I went to where you land in an artfully arranged post-apocalyptic landscape. Then, you have to wander around until you see a sign directing you underground. Then you follow some tunnels that eventually lead you to the store. I've never been back. I rather like the pushers, as it prevents the cluster of avatars who refuse to move away from the landing point. If people would just move a couple meters away before they start their caming (or navel gazing) there wouldn't be a need for pushers. I, for one, am tired of landing on people's heads. I love landing points that have a teleport board, so you can quickly go to the store or section of a large store that you're looking for.
