Oh you said Roman... sorry, I learned Latin, not Roman. 

I like the last 4 Latin ones. They spell out Styx.

I saw the thread title, and I just KNEW that Gopi was the OP.

My favorite is Z because it's the least used, and I've always been a champion of the underdog.

Besides, it begins so many interesting words, like zoonotic and zymurgy.

A   I think it looks elegant or stately.  If I'd had a daughter I would have named her Lily.  So I like L too.  It's not closed off unto itself, it's open, suggesting a continuum.  

But, I am not spelling out A L because I like A and L.

Not exactly. The band was named after the River Styx of Greek Mythology.
