Twitch doesn't want to police their platform manually so they will ban any game that could go against their term of service. Use something else than twitch. I recall mixer was fine with it.

games that COULD?.....
So that means SL is actually already found guilty of all that. WIthout them even wanting to investigate the "3d Social platform" because SL is officially not a game,...  or am i misunderstandig that? Not really sure about that to be honest :) But still i think they should let us broadcast....

Look at all the creative people in the community! not only DJ's like me, but builders, decorators, designers,  or even people who want to accomodate NEW RESIDENTS and help them on their way by good tutorial videos :) i think it actually has great potential :)

Game content is curated, studios have a reputation to uphold so there is some guarantees.

In SL? It's pretty much anything goes.

Also twitch is pretty lenient on what you stream, between the art and social eating sections.

I think they go on the guideline that since SL is 100% user generated, there is literally zero guarantee that the content will abid to... well anything.

Twitch allows Minecraft, which is 100% user generated. And yes, there is Minecraft porno.

Yes i agree with you totally man!  i mean.....  according to what Twitch says,... shouldnt these games be BANNED from twitch as well?
I mean dont get me wrong,..... i LOVE GTA 5  but.....  yes there is violence, there is sex, there is rape, murder, theft and so on...

ANd no you cannot compare GTA to SecondLife. i wish we could. Have our OWN los Santos hehehehe
Rockstar did not manage to create cute girls like that as we have in SL. Altho.... theres MODS available hahaha that make it even better :P

You've never been to one of the more grotty "urban" RP sims?

You're welcome.

Wait . . . you're comparing engaging with, you know, actual live women in SL, with using mods to simulate sex (and whatever) with NPCs?

Flattering! I'm going to assume that this means you're not that much interested in that whole "talking" or "relationship" thing? (Or do they have GTA mods for that now?)

I have no opinion whatsoever on Twitch's TOS, nor on their decision to ban SL. But I will say that pretending that SL doesn't have a fair amount of very explicit, and sometimes very violent sexual content is a bit silly, maybe?

I tend to think that those who are in SL primarily for sex over-estimate the importance and prevalence: there's a whole lot here that isn't about sex, as I and others can attest. But . . . it's hard not to trip over it pretty frequently. I haven't bought anything sex-related in SL in probably 8 years, but my MP page is flooded with explicit sexual content for sale. I go to sims of all ratings, including adult ones, but what I'm noticing a great deal recently is a slipping of the enforcement of LL's rating standards here: it's not at all uncommon, for example, to find publicly accessible furnishings and objects with sex animations in Moderate rated sims nowadays. I could certainly say the same about clothing and nudity.

What I'm suggesting is that . . . maybe Twitch has a point? Personally, nudity and sexuality doesn't bother me, but if they are, for whatever reason, trying to avoid association with it, they might well be right to steer clear of SL.

Have you ever heard of a little game genre called dating simulators? It's a thing.

I don't know who the top of Twitch's little food chain is, but in my almost two years as a resident, I've never once come across whatever it is that's put a broom handle up his butt about SL - but then again, I've never gone looking for the kind of junk he's clearly obsessing over, either.

Well, sure? Sorta, kinda, vaguely?

That's not really the point. I'm not suggesting that using sex mods in GTA is particularly weird or awful or anything.

What I'm suggesting is that comparing that to dating or sex in SL is just odd. They're not the same kind of thing.

If you think they are, then you either think that the women you are engaging with in SL are like the AI for NPCs, or you think that the NPCs with whom you're involved are like real women.

The latter is odd and a bit, I don't know . . . concerning? The former is less odd, but much more disturbing.

@Scylla Rhiadra No i havent visited sims like that.  those places dont sway me.  nor do they have my interest.
I am NOT on sl to have sex. I am o SL to play and make music. And to express my creativity :)
I was merely pointing out the difference between GTA and SL. ( mostly about gfx quality etc) Im certainly not comparing NPC's wth real people. Altho sometimes i ask myself who is real on SL and who is not hahah and  the sex in GTA doest interest me at all.

And yes to be honest, i DO love the talking thing. And i do have a relationship.
I actually met the love of my life in SL :) hihihihih

I choose not to go to sex sims, i chose to broadcast FUN things and not (virtual) porn (people can get that everywhere)  I prefer to broadcast creativity, innivation, talent form manyh people :) and trust me, banging an avi is not one of them :)

But yeah for those who do like it theres ways here too. When it comes to that , SL is literally limitless.
I think to each their own?

Sidenote; Maybe i worded it wrong, as i am Dutch and do clearly not understand how to "say" certain things in english.
MY apologies for that if i didnt explain myself clear enough Scylla :)

lol, it's all good Carter, thank you. I didn't mean to suggest that you owed me an explanation for how you conduct yourself. Your sex life -- or lack thereof, if that's the case -- is none of my business. I was just struck by the odd comparison you seemed to be making between the real people of SL and the NPCs in games like GTA.

And I'm delighted to hear that you've met the love of your life! Congrats, and hugs!

I'm more interested, honestly, in your response to my thoughts about the visibility of sex in SL. To make my point maybe a bit clearer -- in most mainstream MMOs that I know of, you have to go looking for most sexual content. Or, as in GTA, you have to use mods to access and/or provide it.

Whereas in SL, frankly, you have to choose not to be exposed to sexual content. It's true that that is relatively easy to do (although, as I say, more and more sexual content is filtering out into Moderate sims these days), but Adult isn't merely extremely easy to find, it's almost the default. Again, take a look at the MP. Yes, I can filter most adult content out if I choose to do so, but it is present, and easy to access, in a way that is simply not true of Minecraft (*snort*), Elder Scrolls Online, or other mainstream MMOs.

That surely must be Twitch's thinking too?

@Scylla Rhiadra Well my thoughts are that you are right about that.
Its everywhere. But,.....  i still think there is a way to "steer clear" from all that.
I know most people dont care about it at all, Buy honestly i think its actually shocking that these maturity ratings here are a fluke.
Meaning; Why on earth would a sim owner put adult furniture on their sim, while havig sex is actually not allowed? Does not make sense to me.
"Unless they clearly want to engage in it, but also violate TOS from LL.  (not that LL cares much hahaha)

In GTA5 you also have to "look" for the content. Either by finding a prostitute (which is actually pretty lame in there cause the anims and graphics quality are very poor, even for GTA5 standards) or go to a stripclub. Or,...  you would have to specifically change/alter your game by modding it and add sexual content.

What im trying to say and also HOPE that twicth would be flexible about  is that if people like me choose NOT to broadcast that sexual or violent content from SL.
Like i wrote earlyer we can help people wth it. Show them how to build, how to make clothes, how to socialise, (without the whole sex thing), or (re)do  their avis
i personally think we whould not be banned for it as long as we dont violate TOS from twitch :)

In my opinion its wrong to "assume"  (and that is what twitch does)  that everyone there follwos his dick, and its all porn, *****, ***** and violence.
Again it is what you choose to see or what you seek for :)

(wth the market place as exception of course since designers know how to surpass the  keyword and use it in their own advantage. Which makes you unwilingly see things you dont want to see. Unfortunately LL does not do much about it as far as i know.... sad  tho...

Personally, I was kind of under the assumption it was more to do with WHO the main sort of peeps streaming where,  who were most likely the main ones that also would venture into lewd places while streaming, thus running into the No No land of twitch rules when it comes to outright porn.

For what it's worth.

Kitty wrote all the code to do SL -> Twitch streaming integration for Catznip years ago, when we applied for an API key we were denied, when we pushed we were told it was because of intellectual property concerns insofar as the owner of the content being streamed would be unclear. We felt like we were being fobbed off.

The code went onto the junk pile.

Edit : To add, the code had to be written in advance of an application as at the time they required to see it before authority would be issued.

Yeah Twitch has more stricter guidelines than YouTube does. As such, both Second Life, and that Yandere Simulator are banned from Twitch, due to it not having a rating, and having adult content. But things like Conan, get a free pass.

The dynamic of online game streaming is about to make a huge shift and Twitch are probably going to get crushed. YT have been very hard on people wanting to stream certain games so twitch has been the only outlet, however Stadia is leading on all the exact same games YT has been punishing, which you will totally be able to stream on YT if you're playing them on stadia. Funny how that works out.

As for Conan ... that's the game which has claimed a huge chunk of the SL Gor RP population .. for some reason.

Twitch really hasn't been the only outlet, a lot of people still stream on YouTube. But people who want to Stream Yandere Simulator or SL gameplay footage, than you can't use Twitch for it. That is why you see a lot of people streaming on YouTube, for games like that.

Yeah, this is pretty much my thoughts too. If Twitch didn't ban SL, we might have saw more people trying to troll for the sweet ragebux.

Wow..... amazing!!!
I get a warning from Theresa Linden because i posted a link to my twitch here,.....
I wanted to show that SECOND LIFE ISNT BANNED FROM TWITCH AT ALL!!!

That is *****ing rediculous.  I am trying to be helpful and take a stand for LL and i get warned
Because i want to show the GOOD side .... right,.......

Ive been stalked for over two years by one and the same person, made over 20 REPORTS and nothing happens.
(double standards, Lindens? It only concerns you if it AFFECTS you ?  wow!!!!)

But im trying to be helpful and add some GOOD NEWS to the community,......  and then this??
Well last  time i would EVER stick my neck out again... Thanks Theresa!!!

(yes i stick my neck out cause maybe i WILL get banned from twitch because i broadcast SL to show them that its NOT only a porn site and a social platform where ***** happens all the time.........  guess good deeds arent appreciated.......)

No advertising or promotion of specific Second Life merchants,
Marketplace listings, products, or services, unless the forum area is
specifically for the buying or selling of Second Life products or
services, for example, a “for sale” or “wanted” forum. Do not reference
other websites offering any product or service. "

Really??  You should be THANKFUL that i promote SL in a GOOD WAY on other platforms so you might get MORE people who want to check it out and join.!  There is no advertising here, no promotion for my own benefit of ANY KIND!!!! It benefits SL  not me...... "   Maybe you should STOP putting everyone in the same box and let people HELP instead of punishing them for it. After all ( its a user created platform right????)  So let the community support eachother and dont be an ass about little things that have no meaning........

last time i ever did that :(

THE NAME SECOND LIFE or LINDEN LABS will NEVER EVER be sayd or heard or typed in my twitch again.
Nor will i SHOW what happens here. Its not worth it...... SL is not worth it.... the Lindens arent worth that kind of support.

Thank you!!!

Posted in support of Carter Tom...... TY for trying anyway.

Also, as a Psycho-Stalking Survivor who got zero help from “management”; I feel you.

Oh, the entitlement... linking to his Twitch channel is such an act of support (they surely should bend down to their toes to honor that you stream SL on Twitch!) and there are definitly the exact same people in charge of the forum moderation _and_ dealing with inworld reports and therefore he has special rights because he had an online stalker... 🙄

My sympathie runs thin on this one.

Ironically, Twitch now has a Transgender person named Steph Loehr, also known as FerociouslySteph, who identifies as a Deer, in charge of Twitch censorship.  Videos of Loehr show her explaining how she likes to "prance around and eat grass," as well as having a "deergasm."

"I have power, they can't take it away from me," bragged Steph Loehr
