Title speaks for itself. Welp, does mean that my future ideas of streaming avatar developements is 100% not happening anymore. Somehow Second Life ranks with that of Sakura Spirit and Hatred, the later being an obvious reaction to why Twitch has pulled out the Adult Games ban.

So if you do Twitch and you do SL, don't do the two at the same time within the stream's viewing, unless someone can talk some sense into Twitch.

The other games listed in the ban have content that is 100% against Twitch's rules of conduct. Second Life's content is something like 90% within the rules and 10% against. (Not sure what the actual ratio would be.) Should the whole of SL be banned because of that? SL isn't even on the list of the ESRB's ratings.

The thing you got to understand though is SL by a slim margin is classed as an actual mmorpg by the gaming community. Most do not consider it an actual game. Most gamers look at SL as being closer related to being a social network something like what RLD is. So in all reality I am not surprised it was banned by Twitch.

Velk, so you're saying that SL is being banned not because of content violating the Twitch rules of conduct but because SL is not considered to be 'video gaming related activities' as per the Twitch terms of service? I suppose that's a plausible reason why SL was banned.

Well if I had to guess I am thinking it's because they don't want people streaming the adult content. They are not going to police the content uploaded by users from a single game so really that's the best way to avoid a situation all together.  That's how I am seeing it on why they might have added it to the list.

It's simpler than that. The new owners, Amazon, don't want to be associated with something that has an appalling reputation for BDSM, sex, dolcett, vore, bestiality, and other disgusting habits like kid avatars speaking with lisps

And it's too bad cause I've used Twitch for teaching how to do building or basic skills realted thing in SL. Showing works better than text. I did IM the company and ask why they decided to ban SL. No answer yet, but who knows? I got a phone call on my complaint with Kia over their latest round of ads for the Kia Soul and its use of a song glorifying stalking as the background music. I don't expect anything to really be done in either case, but one can always hope.

Kinda ironic they ban SL,but allow games like GTA and Assassin's Creed 2.

Not sure if irony, but the misattribution is that they're responding to content concerns. Twitch/Amazon don't really care what people look at, provided is through their wires. Stream all the hardcore you like and this won't grab much news, porn is everywhere online. They regularly score hatred of cable TV channels for leaked shows - doesn't slow them down and their rep stays high.

What Twitch are responding to is industry pressure and negative stigma, and this is plenty worrying for LL and for those of us in SL who promote A/C (and/or fully intend to promote A/C in Sansar). Certain activities in SL grab big-screen attention, and Twitch don't want to get drawn into this and lose reputation.

Kinda inevitable given the climate, tho.

Wow..... amazing!!!
I get a warning from Theresa Linden because i posted a link to my twitch here,.....
I wanted to show that SECOND LIFE ISNT BANNED FROM TWITCH AT ALL!!!

That is *****ing rediculous.  I am trying to be helpful and take a stand for LL and i get warned
Because i want to show the GOOD side .... right,.......

Ive been stalked for over two years by one and the same person, made over 20 REPORTS and nothing happens.
(double standards, Lindens? It only concerns you if it AFFECTS you ?  wow!!!!)

But im trying to be helpful and add some GOOD NEWS to the community,......  and then this??
Well last  time i would EVER stick my neck out again... Thanks Theresa!!!

(yes i stick my neck out cause maybe i WILL get banned from twitch because i broadcast SL to show them that its NOT only a porn site and a social platform where ***** happens all the time.........  guess good deeds arent appreciated.......)

No advertising or promotion of specific Second Life merchants,
Marketplace listings, products, or services, unless the forum area is
specifically for the buying or selling of Second Life products or
services, for example, a “for sale” or “wanted” forum. Do not reference
other websites offering any product or service. "

Really??  You should be THANKFUL that i promote SL in a GOOD WAY on other platforms so you might get MORE people who want to check it out and join.!  There is no advertising here, no promotion for my own benefit of ANY KIND!!!! It benefits SL  not me...... "   Maybe you should STOP putting everyone in the same box and let people HELP instead of punishing them for it. After all ( its a user created platform right????)  So let the community support eachother and dont be an ass about little things that have no meaning........

last time i ever did that :(

THE NAME SECOND LIFE or LINDEN LABS will NEVER EVER be sayd or heard or typed in my twitch again.
Nor will i SHOW what happens here. Its not worth it...... SL is not worth it.... the Lindens arent worth that kind of support.

Thank you!!!

Me, I'm just getting tired of Twitch banning Second Life. It seems like once a week I see it popping up here again: "Twitch bans Second Life"!

Can't they just ban it once and have done with it? Does it refuse to stay banned or something?

Unfortunately, it still is.

That's something that LL management should be taking up with Twitch management. It's embarrassing that SL is in the doghouse on Twitch. This hurts new user acquisition. It's embarrassing to SL users who'd like to show SL to their friends.

Twitch's detailed policy reads "Games featuring nudity, pornography, sex, or sexual violence as a core focus or feature, and gameplay modified to feature these elements are entirely prohibited. Occurrences of in-game nudity are permitted, so long as you do not make them a primary focus of your content and only spend as much time as needed in the area to make progress." SL could meet that standard outside of Adult areas.

@Scylla Rhiadra Well i actually think the reasons are a bit stupid tho.
I mean honestly they look at one bad side and ban it. i dont understand.

I mean.....  sure theres a lot of crap happenig i SL by people who have no good intentions at all.
But that can be avoided right? EIther you choose not to broadcast the bad things happening or you make sure nothing of it all is seen. (like i do)
Its a way of NOT feeding the trolls and still be able to support your creativity and the place that you think is worth broadcasting for.

I checked again and its still on the banned list.
But i wont stop.....  I am a DJ and i have nothing to do with griefers, porn or unacceptable behavior from people.
I play and produce music thats it.

The Irony behind all this is that sometimes i see females broadcasting  "Just chatter"   and they are actually wearing a very skimpy top, 80% of the boobs showing,
they get tenthousands of viewers every day, they make tenthousands of dollars by donations......... and this is where Twitch looks the other way.
But showing a very well but sexy dressed avi in the BIGGEST 3D social platform (yes i dont see SL as a game either)  no.....  thats not done.
See the hypocricy in that? :)

To be honest, I sorta thought that whole "Nudity" thing didnt make sense for a ban. You got Grand Theft auto, and rated M guys busting out nudity. Heck, Conan even supports rape with the nuts out and everything.

Really you are comparing GTA nudity with second lifes, bdsm, gor, furrys and so on hahaha well ok

Mhmm yes as i just stated in my previous comment,  i checked it and its still on the list.
Yet,..... i did not get banned (as of yet hahaha)  by broadcasting my DJ work in a club......
( i do keep nudity out of my camera sight tho)  never wake a sleeping dog i was told :)

I think they go on the guideline that since SL is 100% user generated, there is literally zero guarantee that the content will abid to... well anything.
