Ha isn't this kind of how SL was created? Originally it was meant to be more combat orientated with spawning critters and such kind of like minecraft.

To tack onto this Facebook is also publicly traded so it's highly doubtful sex will be an option in it the metaverse. Also, I kind of doubt SL and Metaverse will be in the same stratosphere. I don't think Meta will be user created content. It will likely be generic models and outfits with users maybe being able to upload or purchase custom skins and what not. And probably things such as loot boxes to get "rare" items. I'd guess micro transactions will be a big part of Meta's profits.

I used to shop mainly MP but have grown out of it. A lot of vendors still have things in the MP from like 2012 and before. It's hard to sort by new items without sacrificing too much relevance. I'd probably utilize it more if it had a sort by date option or option to exclude items listed prior to (enter year here). I also find it tunnels me to thing I am looking for and miss opportunities to might find something I wasn't necessarily looking for. I prefer event shopping now and only use MP whenever I can't find something specific at my normal list of creators. Some stores also offer discounts over time when you purchase in store and some even gift you a percentage back as a gift card which accrues even when you send items as gifts to friends or alts. So every now and then I get free items. A lot of the best creators don't even bother with an MP store or if they do list something it's whenever they come around to it after the item was released at an event.

When I came back to SL the first time I had to get all meshed out (I left before mesh was a thing). I think getting their avies decked out is one of the first things new players want to do in SL. For me it was an expensive process in trying out different head, shape and body combos before finally settling in on something I liked. In hindsight I found buying a shape first was the most efficient way to go. They don't always look exactly like the picture but they are a good start and typically come with style cards that tell you what head, body and skin to get to resemble the picture. For me I already knew what I was getting back into when playing again so I didn't mind forking up the dough. However a new player might not be so keen to pay so much just to get started in a game they really don't know much about. So in that sense I think SL is difficult for new players. Other aspects in the game also come with a learning curve such as building and scripting. Mesh is determined by how much you already know beforehand using external software such as Maya and Blender. The learning curve there I guess would be the trial and error process of ripping thing into SL the way you intended.

Collabor88, Kustom9, Access and most of the ones ran or sponsored by Secondlife Syndicate and L'Homme are the ones I normally go to. Cosmopolitan, Anthem and Fameshed usually have new releases from creators I like to check out. Uber does too but seems stuff from creators I like is more expensive there than the stuff they list at other events which I don't really understand why since I don't necessarily view the Uber event being significantly better than either of the previously mentioned ones.

Combination of quality and price as well as mod vs no mod. The rigging of their clothes (Can I mix and match their things with other outfits or am I stuck with what's in the picture?). Gabriel R2 and FashionNatic are some of my favorites for clothing. Meva is another one, their prices are usually so low I just instabuy and dont even bother demoing and I like the style of their clothes. FN has a very good rig and if I am ever in need of something to just fit with something else I have they're one of the firsts I go to. Asteroidbox is another one with a very tight to body rig that makes their outfits easy to mix and match with other things (and they too are mod too and so +++ for me. Materials are really big with me. I don't take a lot of pictures and am certainly not on the same level of a lot of people I see on FlickR or anything but when I do I like to take really high resolution images and see the details and effort the creators put into their pieces.

Can't agree more. It's typically the same handful or so too who can't seem to resist entering a thread clearly titled something they don't like or agree with and making their dog whistle statements on said topics. Yet thread gets nuked and they're still around to continue doing it.

There's a group that does a Miss SL and Mr SL pageant yearly. They finished Miss SL a few months ago and are doing Mr SL currently. I think they're going into the 4th week. It's usually on Saturdays. It's pretty fun to get into and follow if you're into that sort of thing. Here's the poster from last week. They usually post them for the next event on Fridays.

I have messages forwarded to email but they’ll still cap in the viewer. I use FS mostly. The groups I’m in I actually want to get notices from otherwise why join the group? If a group is overly spammy I’ll just leave them. I mainly run into issues on my alts that I don’t use very often. I’ll shop and send stuff to them and forget to log them on to retrieve the gifts. After awhile I log them on and they’ll be capped and I’ll have to go back and try to remember what I bought to have it redelivered. I’ll have to try that blocking thing though. If it doesn’t work maybe I’ll get the SL viewer for backup lol.

Ha I was on the opposite end of the group cleaning a few weeks ago. It was my friend for like 7 years or so in SL and I had missed the notice because I was off for a few days and my messages were capped. (they really need to raise the cap since even group notices and system messages count towards it.) I was a little curious because I like the tag it had for me ("Miss Trouble"). Turns out she was just kicking people out so that she could sell the plot of land she deeded it to. I was worried she quit or something.

I don't think it implicates every man or in the case of white privilege every white person. That's not the purpose. I find people who think that are overly defensive or just don't clearly understand what the terms mean. It's for awareness and not meant to throw anyone under a bus. To get to the bottom of it you basically participate in it or don't or deny they exist. White privilege isn't some new term. I believe it was coined in the 80s in a report on women studies. I remember we studied it for like a week back in college in some sociology class. I think it's easy to live somewhere far from diversity and deny something doesn't exists while in other places it's quite blatantly obvious they do.

Ya true. I didn't think of that. The Caspervend redelivery sold on the MP is not avatar specific. But the links you copy from the store would be. So my caspvend vendor would work for anyone but my GB one would only work for me. Unless I can find an MD Labs redelivery that works like the Caspervend does but I didn't see any for them on the MP. Edit: I noticed this line in the script of the GB one. llLoadURL(llDetectedKey(x) so maybe it does check UUID? Edit:x2 Just tried on an alt and it took me to Finite's redelivery lol so NOPE.

That 10L one I posted works and is full perm. Only need to change the web address to whatever the store uses for your redeliver. The Caspervend one will show all your items you bought from every vendor that uses Caspervend. But if you have a favorite store that doesn't use Caspervend you can just go to that store and click the redeliver and use whatever web address it sends you. I set one up for Gabriel.

I haven't tried with others yet. The one I got is full perm though. I can't remember if the script is however. I am sure once you got the web address for the others from the instore redelivery it wouldn't be too hard to script or get someone to script it for you.

You can have your own redelivery terminal. The store doesn't necessarily need to have one. I have one from Caspervend in my basement/garage.

It used to be common curtesy to change the thread name to include (Sold) at the end once said item was sold.

It's been intermittent all morning for me. It'll either let me log in but dc after a few minutes or if I try to TP somewhere. Or just not let me log in at all. Happening on both FS and BD viewers.
