  1. Yes this is accurate. It used to be disallowed on those sites by default to upload their models to SL but a few of the original creators there have come around on SL and don’t have a problem with it. Some of the newer models are even already in DAE format. I’ve personally bought a model for the Lionheart gunblade when I couldnt find a decent one on the MP and I wanted to dress up like Squall for fantasy faire a couple years ago. I don’t personally have an issue with it however it is a bit cringy when the same model shows up at the same popular event twice within the same year. Especially when one was 550L and the second was nearly 4k L. The previous is still my favorite monocycle though. 😉
  2. A few creators sell the same mesh models bought from sites such as cgtrader or turbosquid, I wouldn't necessarily say it's uncommon to find the same mesh model produced by different creators. There is also a lot of prefabs for buildings and premades for clothes.
  3. You probably just let more people know about your ban than if you had just left it alone and not posted this on a forum.
  4. My understanding is that SL doesn't currently utilize video card memory as much other games. It mostly uses CPU and RAM. So that 4070 might only be a slight difference (at least for SL. It'll be a huge difference for actual games). This will change in a good way once PBR is implemented however as the resources will then be diverted mostly to CPU and VRam. I'd probably wait to see how that 1660 performs with PBR unless you are hellbent on upgrading regardless or were able to snipe one in the meantime for a good price. I think anyone who isn't using an on-board vid card will see a bump in performance once PBR is out.
  5. HAHA I nearly forgot it was already 2023 and I almost typed something. edit: Oh for F's sake!
  6. Yes i get that. The fatpacks are discounted too though. Hence why I asked what the normal price was. Since 1250 seemed pretty normal.
  7. 1250L single piece fatpack at a 50L faire.... I'm afraid to ask what you normally charge x.x. /me swipes left.
  8. No-mod does not prevent counterfeit. Not remotely. And yes they own the design and rights as such but the thing they just sold to a customer they do not own. Besides, I find most just make things no mod to hide the fact it is premade mesh as most original creators are mod.
  9. I use ASWD in SL since its closer to other keys than the arrow keys. However most gamers use their mouse for movement since it frees up other keys for keybinds. In fact most "gamers" mock "keyboard turners" since it's obvious in game as it is much slower than mouse turning.
  10. He also mentioned paintball, motorcycles and drone flying. The hobby determines the expense. Gaming unfortunately does require at least an up-to-date computer. Not necessarily a 2080 or 3080 or whatever. But a 1060 with a decent amount of RAM is probably baseline these days. As for specs I assume its difficult for SL to pin point an exact requirement. Even with forced ALM It really depends on your preference. For me, I like eye candy so I use max settings anyways. I wouldn't play without ALM ever. I would literally lower everything else before ALM (I tend to start with draw distance). But for others who don't need all the bells and whistles the spec requirement would be much less for them even with ALM required.
  11. What info did you give? It only asks for email address and date of birth upon creating an account. They only ask for personal information when you try to purchase lindens which takes you to another website and is handled by Tilia. Not LL. Tilia has all our personal information (and its own TOS). LL as it pertains to this updated TOS has your date of birth (assuming you gave them an accurate one) and email address... and likely your IP address(es).. And I believe ( i could be wrong) even the age verification process is handled by a 3rd party.
  12. No, I am a premium plus with payment information on file. Payments are processed through Tilia while owned by the same people is governed under a separate TOS as it is a money transmitter. Look at your account info in Secondlife. It has your email address and the last 4 of whatever credit card you use. Not much more.
  13. I'm curious as to what exactly the information they would be able to share with 3rd parties. For me they only have my email (which was created purely for Secondlife) and my billing zip code. So what if any personal information can they share? SL doesn't even have my phone number nor my address.
  14. You can use any object you'd like that is mod and drop the script in it.
  15. I’ve noticed this too since the latest FS update. But literally everything else loads quicker. I think it’s a good trade off tbh.
  16. I’ve been pretty satisfied with the latest FS update so far. It seems to run a lot more efficiently at higher settings now. Maybe you could try ramping up the settings a bit to see how it goes.
  17. I couldn't find the thread so I am not sure about the context but I did look for an MD Labs redeliver on the MP and couldnt find one. This was months ago. I ended up modifying a full perm one meant for caspervend and just changed the link to one for an MD Store I use a lot. The link seems to expire once in awhile but other than that I haven't had any issues.
  18. Im curious what the purchase of Caspervend means for other vendors who provide similar services such as MD Labs. Seems SL will be directly competing with residents now.
  19. Yes I understand that. And I understand why vendors would want to keep track of that. Casper however does it all for you. It wasn’t a screen shot of a spreadsheet. Regardless the semantics of that data wasn’t really my issue. It was that it was shared in a group chat using an gyazo link or one of those. So it wasn’t just shared in the group but it’s also out in the nether of the interwebs.
  20. I kind of like the idea of LL taking over Casper. From bad previous experiences with 3rd party websites and SL. I’m not sure what kind of info Casper allows vendors access too but others give “Gm” or whatever access to any Tom, Dick or Harry. I’ve also had a vendor post a screen shot of their top customers by lindens spent over a dispute or whatever going on in their group chat. I happened to be on the list. I thought it was cool to be one of the top buyers but did everyone need to know that? And I wasn’t involved in the conversation.
  21. I wonder if they considered scaling things down to make it appear the sims were bigger while being the same size.
