  1. There are a handful of male skin makers with BOM skins; aside from those already mentioned, there's also Session (about half their skins are BOM-ready so far) and 7 Deadly Skins which has always had classic system skins available. Plastik; while they do primarily fantasy skins they have some regular ones too, though they're not the most masculine ones (which is why I wear them). Egozy body skins have classic layers but not the heads. If Birth is doing them, I would assume Nivaro too, though I haven't checked them lately.
  2. It will repeat notification of the same song if there is a temporary break in connection, either yours or that for the stream itself.
  3. I get a lot of comments on my appearance, usually compliments, sometimes questions. Questions are fine, I can answer those and that usually leads to a much more interesting conversation. But when it's just a comment to say they like something I am wearing, what else is there to say in reply except "thanks"? To those people who think 'thanks' is rude, what is the non-rude alternative? And no, I am not gonna type out "Please accept my most heartfelt and deepest gratitude for your gracious compliment". Not with one hand. 😋
  4. Definitely looks like Action to me. I think it's one of these: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Action-Inkubator-Hair-Louis-DEMO/7468791 or https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Action-Inkubator-Hair-Ryder-DEMO/9915661 The hairbase is obviously different, since it's using the Volkstone one, not the one that comes with the hair.
  5. Shark "furries" always confused me. They're sharks, why do they have legs? Shouldn't they be more like mer-folk?
  6. That new Lelutka head looks yummy. Any idea on a release date?
  7. You might have better success with Geralt, which is slimmer to begin with, and can use any skins that Gianni can use. Slink Physique is another slimmer one. If you want to be able to wear dresses and other feminine clothes on a male body, you need Belleza Jake, this body has been picked up by the androgynous clothes makers nore than either of the Signature bodies. However, I have gone with the alternative option of Maitreya body with v-tech chest. There are a few clothes makers making clothes for this combination, with Krankhaus being the most masculine. However it is also possible to wear some male clothes too, especially pants. I have best success with menswear made for TMP, and with standard sizes in S and XS size. Tops are harder because there's too much gap behind the shoulders but long sleeved tops in smaller sizes often work fine. So going Maitreya definitely does not mean tossing out all your menswear.
  8. Yep. I have a skin from Egozy that has BOM for the body only, not thd head. I have had no problem using the applier head skin with the BOM body skin, and because they go together, no neck fix is necessary. It does remind me though, why I prefer BOM.
  9. Your friend likely has a Basic account rather than Premium. Basic accounts have far fewer options for submitting tickets (intentionally, I imagine, as an encouragement to purchase Premium membership). However, Marketplace product issues should be reported on the Marketplace itself rather than by support ticket. Each product page has a "Flag this item" link, in the column on the right hand side below the Like and Share buttons. Click that and select "Item not as advertised". However, neither flagging an item on the MP nor submitting a support ticket will get a refund for your friend. They might remove the listing, they might ban the seller. But she will not get her money back. She can only chalk it up as a lesson learned.
  10. But it only turns off the fingernails, not the toenails. There is an add-on set which includes solid "toe caps" so you can use BOM stockings or socks without having them separate over each toe; this add-on does hide the toenails (as in, covering them, not making them disappear). Otherwise, this is where it's easier just to use the hud alphas on the feet.
  11. Me and my alt. His name is Glory, and I think of him as a brother; the kind of brother that you don't actually like that much and you're only nice to him cos he's family. Turns out that today is the first time I've logged him in for more than a year. I see where I get my sometimes-blonde hair from now...
  12. 9 years on and my policy on my friends list hasn't changed. I delete them when I've forgotten who they are. People who are/were genuine friends don't get deleted even if they've not logged on in months or years. Who knows, maybe one day they'll come back and it'll be nice for them to know that at least one of their old friends is still around. This makes me wonder, lots of people post here saying they need new friends because they've come back after a break of several years and no-one on their friends list logs in any more. What if they do, but they already removed this poor guy cos he didn't log in for 2 years?
  13. There are really now only two male bodies with good clothing support; Signature Gianni and Belleza Jake. Neither are skinny looking but Jake is slightly leaner than Gianni. The Legacy body seems to be fairly well supported by creators but due to their dodgy business practises, and the risk of being left with a brick you can't use if their servers ever go offline, I really wouldn't recommend them at all. The others are either dwindling or never had much support to begin with.
  14. Yes, I do this a lot. I have a stock collection of white layer clothing; underwear, t-shirt, tanktop, plain button-up shirt, socks, leggings etc, all modifyable and mostly worn under mesh clothing.
  15. Using it for their own personal use perhaps? I do that a lot, because full-perm mesh templates (usually) come with texture maps etc, which makes it easier to re-texture them than regular modifyable but not full-perm items. If a fatpack of no-mod t-shirts with 12 colours is L$200 but the same template full-perm is L$300, you can bet I'm gonna spend the little bit extra and buy the full-perm one. Then I've got 65,000 colours. Setting them all up for sale? I don't have time for that.
  16. Been listening to some old Kate Bush stuff today.
  17. In RL or SL? In RL, my boyfriend and I usually go out for a nice meal in an upmarket restaurant. Not usually on Valentines day itself though, cos they are always packed. We usually go on the nearest Friday or Saturday. In SL... I dunno. It's been a long time since I had a partner in SL and now I sorta have one again but we haven't made any plans. I'd make something, but I've left it a bit late now. He's not the type of guy to fall for the commercialism though.
  18. I's a kitteh today. This is a mod of the Curious Chinchilla, with ears from Felis, teeth from the Rainworx tiger (shrunk to fit), Catseye bento tail and BOM feet from Kibitz. And for a laugh, this is my first furry avatar from 2006/2007... ...
  19. There isn't a way to transfer anything saved from the old hud to the new one. However, if you're using the hud's pre-set skins, it should be easy enough to find. On the new hud there are two rows of skin presets. The bottom row is the one that corresponds with the old skins, so it will be one of these. The top row are the new tones.
  20. He is apparently a brand new thing - his profile pics have an entry "First Sighting" with the date 10 February and a photo of us lot dancing. One of our group said it was a pity he didn't interact with us, but in a sense, he did. Though he did not speak, he came closer and closer, just standing there watching us. When Mystic ran him over in the train he got up in the cabin and sat next to her. I wanted to IM him to tell him how awesome I thought it was but somehow it seemed like it would break the immersion of his character, so I didn't.
  21. Inventory size will affect login speed and teleport speed. I noticed this whilst logging in to Black Dragon, which has more detailed descriptions of what it's actually doing during the login process. Part of that includes "Loading Inventory Skeleton" (that's your structure of folders and subfolders) followed by "Fetching inventory" (or words to that effect). So naturally, a larger inventory is going to take longer to populate. It has to do the same thing when you teleport too. However, inventory size wouldn't affect your fps, or rezzing of a scene, or anything else visual. There must be another difference you've not spotted yet. What are your two avatars wearing? Are they both wearing the exact same mesh body and head, hair and all other attachments? Do they have the same huds attached? Are they located in the same place, facing in the same direction? Are they alone or are there other avatars present nearby? Do you have any other programs running on your computer that you didn't have before? Is your internet speed fluctuating?

  24. Lindens don't read posts here (well, most of them don't). There are a lot of issues with the grid right now, including Billing, so the best thing will be to wait and see if the situation resolves itself once they've fixed it. If not, you will need to submit a support ticket. https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/
