  1. ... is deliberately very tall and thin and kind of pretty. (He's a gay elf/neko, of course he's tall, thin and pretty). ... wears the same outfit, or variations of it, nearly all the time ... doesn't use voice, even though I'm a slow one-handed-typist, because I'm also hard-of-hearing enough that it's too difficult for me to make out what people are saying. ... makes art, as I do in RL ... used to be an erotic dancer, and really misses it.
  2. When I first made my avatar, I made it to wear what I happened to be wearing at the time in RL: a pair of blue jeans, a plain white cotton shirt and a black leather waistcoat (vest, for you Americans). It's sort of stuck as a trademark for me and most often when I change it's only to get better blue jeans, better white shirts and better black leather waistcoats. It's rare that I wear a completely different outfit. I do change my hair quite a bit, going in phases from short to very long, depending on how elvish I feel.
  3. My avatar doesn't look like my RL self. It's not even human (it's an elf/neko hybrid). In RL I'm disabled and I've chosen to not portray that in my avatar. But my avatar is also not a roleplaying character either. At least personality-wise, it's just the way I am.
  4. My favourite hair is long, flexi and 185 prims, but it is fully modify and has no scripts. I did a script count on myself and I have 5 scripts for a total of 192kb. The only lag I'm causing is framerate on my own client.
  5. Suspiria Finucane wrote: Is your avatar part of a community or is it a single entity? Both, without a doubt. If my avatar was a single entity with no connection to the wider community, then I would be playing Sims instead. I am in SL because of the communities to which I belong.
  6. I have no land (except that which has been kindly donated for my art gallery) so I have no home. I set home on some group land of a group I belong to, which is a very nice tropical island. None of it is built by me.
  7. I've never had a premium membership and never needed to. I wouldn't get enough stipend to cover the costs and I don't need any of the priviledges it gives me.
  8. For a long time it was Hair Solutions: Recently I discovered Amacci. This is "Rogan".
  9. Another simple thing that sometimes works, especially if you are seeing other people as clouds (but not necessarily yourself) is to change your active group. By switching group title, it somehow forces a re-draw of avatars in your area - not just yours but all of them.
  10. Most bugs don't seem to ever get fixed at all. I wouldn't hold your breath.
  11. You have to wait until you have participated enough to get promoted. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/help/faqpage/faq-category-id/ranksroles#ranksroles How much is "enough" is anyone's guess.
  12. ummm... *points to my sig* :smileywink:
  13. For shoes, go to In Her Shoes. They're all free. Also the Fab*Free Station has lots of good freebies. (sorry I don't have landmarks for these as I'm not logged in in-world atm). You can also get a lot of really good freebies by doing hunts.
  14. ahah!! wonderful! THANKYOU!! That was driving me crazy.
  15. I rely on using the mouse on the camera controls 100%, as I have the use of only one hand I can't use the mouse-keyboard combinations. Now in the old viewer the camera controls would stay open all the time, wherever I put them. In viewer 2, the camera controls closes again every time I click elsewhere on the screen. Is there any way to make them stay on the screen? It is making Viewer 2 nearly impossible for me to use. On the same topic is there any way to open both the Pan and Orbit controls at the same time? Make them smaller?
