  1. It is NOT solely about the price point. If you follow this subject as closely as I do (which you clearly don't) then you would realise that there are many more reasons other than "Oh, this brand is cheaper than the other brands" why people buy (and - crucially - recommend) specific head brands. With that belief in mind, you are asking this particular creator to swim upriver by selling twice as many items in a market that currently leans heavily against their brand in multiple ways; price being only a small part of that. But since you clearly want to stop that line of thought in its tracks I will, as you desire, shut up about it.
  2. And yet in this thread you mentioned (twice) that you would only buy an 'older Catwa head' if it was L$2,500, because L$5,000 is too expensive. That's 95% of her entire Bento head product line that you want her to just halve the price of because you want one of them. Her even older heads are already much cheaper than that, but this is almost her entire main product line and income that you want slashed in half.
  3. As Laurel has already noted, it's not always the obvious shape sliders that you need to adjust, such as the butt size slider. The issue I'm seeing there is that the 'break through' is at the top of the thigh, where it joins the crease of the butt, so I would suggest reducing the leg muscle slider first of all. Judging from what I can see of your torso and arms, your body fat and body muscle are already quite slim, so I'd be focusing on the leg muscle slider to see if that fixed the issue.
  4. Try Account Issue > Web Login Issues, and then explain in the body of the ticket that it was as close as you could find to what you needed. I suggest referring to the original incident report when you create your ticket. That report states "We are still investigating issues with my.secondlife.com where some residents may be missing data from their feeds" and you are clearly in that category. LL will benefit from knowing that so they can try to help you recover your feed. Alternatively, if you're a premium user, start a Live Chat. A final option is to file a JIRA, but search the JIRA first to ensure that nobody has already reported the issue. If there is an open report, see who is working on it, and add your comments to that report rather than starting a new one.
  5. Gavri'ela by .Shi Hair. See this post. MP link here.
  6. 'Punklist' appears to be the name (alongside 'Fabrixquare') of this Marketplace store. Clicking some of the ad links shows a SLurl in the description, but whether there's an inworld store at that location is anyone's guess. The MP store only has hairstyles in it. The creator's profile suggests that store account is no longer active and you should send a notecard to them.
  7. I'm fairly certain that's both a custom skin and a custom head. Walton Wainwright is part of a creator studio that also comprises the creators for the Hotdog, Clemmm, and Peculiar Things stores. The avatars used in all of their ads tend to share a similar look, which is reminiscent in style of a set of horror gacha heads released by Hotdog a couple of years back. So I would hazard a guess that neither the heads nor the skins are for sale. The OP hasn't responded to questions about whether they are using a mesh head and body or a system avatar, so it's tricky to recommend anything otherwise. Since they want 'dark elf' I will second recommendations for The Plastik and Fallen Gods for skins, with additional layering for age lines and abrasions etc. There are several events where such layers and items could be obtained. Right now Midnight Order (runs until Feb 20th) might have something that suits, or the OP can take a look at events like Darkness Monthly, and Necrotise (all info can be found at the Seraphim website). If the OP is looking at a mesh head and body purchase then I might suggest the Scott head and possibly the Louis body (which is very emaciated, and might not be to their liking) by The Prop Shop. The Scott head is very similar to the one in the referenced image. Both that head and body are modifiable, so they could be set to use Bakes on Mesh (and thus use system skins), but do please try the demos first, as there are a couple of reviews on the head that suggest there may be neck seam issues, even with the body it's intended to work with. Another slim body that's recently on the market is the KJ-MXS body, a demo of which can be picked up inworld, here. Again, not sure how (or if) it will work against the Scott head, but it's another option.
  8. The item is indeed blocked. You're seeing that in chat because you've enabled the setting in your 'Conversations - Nearby Chat' window to view chat from people and objects that you've muted: Click the button shown in your screenshot that is highlighted (the one with a red slash through it) and you won't see the spam anymore. What happens is that your viewer doesn't stop the spam from being sent to you, or (in the case of text spam) being received by you; it just stops you from seeing it. The 'show muted chat' button is an override you can toggle if you want to. You only need to mute the owner of the object, not the object itself or any other objects in the area, so you may as well go through your block list and remove those other objects. (Incidentally, it's a no-no to 'name and shame' someone on the forum - even someone you believe is behaving badly. I suggest removing the screenshot in your post. You can click the three dots in the top-right of your post and edit it to remove the screenshot, for up to 24 hours after you've made the post.)
  9. All of the Kauna items are still there, including the 'mega pack'. It's on the left side wall of the store, marked as 'Misc. items' - All of the more historical items (ones that would suit the roleplay regions around Time Portal) were separated out into individual frames, but the majority of the collection - including all of the three-piece suits - are in that Misc. items pack. And yes, everything in there is free with the exception of the pipe gacha, which is still something like L$70 per pull. Marianne is not wrong, by the way about "unpacking forever". You really do need to sift and sort when you're unpacking some of the Kauna items, as several of their suits are modular, with options for different ways of wearing them. For example: this massive folder (click to view full size) is for just one of the three-piece suits: First order of the day: find the size (S, M, L) that fits you best, and delete all the other sizes. (You can keep the original box, in case you ever change your avatar later and want to unpack fresh copies to use a different size.) Then look at the naming options. The shirt, tie, and waistcoat that are marked as [UNDER] are intended to be worn under the blazer and are only partial pieces (no sleeves on the shirt, for example; like a dickey/false front shirt). The shirt, tie, and waistcoat not marked that way are full pieces that are intended to be worn with the trousers as-is, without the blazer over the top of them. Likewise, you have three options for trousers: long with a belt short with a belt with a belt Those three versions are different lengths. In fact, the 'with a belt' versions that don't list a length are the 'medium' length trousers. My suggestion would be - once you've found the size that fits you best and deleted all the other sizes - to create a sub-folder inside that suit folder called 'with blazer' and another called 'without blazer'. You may also want to separate out the 'with blazer' options that have an open collar (no tie needed with those!) into another sub-folder. Then pull the [UNDER] shirt, tie, waistcoat, and the blazer into that 'with blazer' folder, and the other (non-'under') shirt, tie, and waistcoat into the 'without blazer' folder. That way - whenever you want to wear the full suit with the blazer - you don't have to go digging through all of those options to find the ones you need; instead you just add everything in the 'with blazer' folder, followed by the trousers at the length you prefer.
  10. No, you will not be a laughing stock if you keep your avatar as she is. However, you may run into one of two types of people inworld, the first rarer than the second: The first is the 'mesh snob'. These are the people who will refuse to speak to you or interact with you if you're not wearing all the latest mesh head and body and clothing. They tend to self-announce only in their profiles, a la "Don't even bother speaking to me if you've not updated your avatar to mesh". If you encounter one of those, just walk away. They aren't worth your energy. Luckily, they are few and far between, and easily avoided. The second is the helpful person who wants so much to help you update your avatar. They may push gently and insistently, they may suggest that you go with them every time there's a sale on mesh heads and bodies. They may even say things like "You could look so much better if..." It's up to you whether you're prepared to tolerate that constant helpfulness, and it's up to them whether they'll accept you telling them that you're quite happy as you are, thankyouverymuch. However, there are some basic things that it is helpful to know with regard to the current state of avatar customisation in SL, if you intend to keep your system avatar. So, if you plan on going shopping for a few new bits and bobs in the future, please bear the following in mind: The vast majority of new mesh clothing and footwear that is now being released is fitted to specific mesh bodies. If you look on the ad boards in stores you'll see a lot of different logos that indicate which bodies they fit. For example: What you will need to look for is the Classic Avatars logo, which looks like this: If you see this logo, then pick up the free demo that should be available in the store for that item, and look inside it. (You may find that unpacking boxes is a different experience now, too; I'll get to that at the end of this post.) The clothing created for 'Classic Avatars' now comes in a couple of different forms: fitmesh (this will stretch to conform to your underlying avatar, no matter what shape it is) standard sizing (S, M, L, etc. - pick the one that fits you best) With both of those types you will also need an alpha layer (the inventory icon is a white t-shirt with a grid pattern on it). Add that (right click > add from your inventory) and it will hide any bits of your system avatar that poke through the mesh clothing. With clothing intended for system avatars, an alpha layer should be included, but it may not always be. An added bonus of retaining a system avatar is that - while it'll be harder to come across newly-created clothing - any older clothing you might want to pick up is likely to be in the discount sections of stores now (e.g. the L$1 corner at Gabriel, or the ultra-cheap clothing by The Sea Hole on SL Marketplace) so you'll be able to pick up some new-to-you pieces at knockdown prices, if you want to. Footwear in particular is something you need to watch out for, as it will be fitted for specific bodies and specific heel heights that those bodies can achieve. You won't be able to achieve that with system feet and shoebases. (This is one reason why shoes with built-in heeled feet were the first things of their kind to be released in SL, followed a couple of years later by standalone mesh feet.) You might be fine with closed boots that are rigged for specific mesh bodies, but even those tend to follow a specific leg line. There should always be a free demo available, so please get that demo and try it out before you commit to a purchase. Invisiprims no longer work in SL, as the glitch they made use of was nerfed by LL some years back. Invisiprims were frequently used in older footwear to hide parts of the system feet. You might find that some of your older shoes no longer hide your feet like they used to. As mentioned above, we now use alpha layers to hide sections of the system avatar, and you can find big free packs of those on the SL Marketplace if you need them. System layers are making a big comeback because of the relatively new BoM (Bakes on Mesh) ability to customise mesh avatars using system layers rather than applier HUDs. However, I'm going to sound a note of caution if you decide to take a look at getting a new skin or some new makeup in future while keeping your system avatar: Mesh bodies (and some mesh heads) use a different UV mapping for textures in certain areas, most notably around the fingers and toes, and on the face. While you may think those lovely BoM (system tattoo) eyebrows created for the Lelutka Evolution mesh heads look gorgeous, they are UV mapped to an HD (high definition) brow layer on that head, and will look stretched and odd on a system head. Likewise a BoM (system) skin created for the Maitreya Lara body looks gorgeous on the mesh body, but the fingernails are UV mapped to the Maitreya fingers, and the toenails are UV mapped to the separated mesh toes of the Maitreya body, and not to the 'paddles' that were the system avatar feet. As above, with my advice regarding clothing and footwear: there will be free demos available, so always pick those up and try them out before you commit to a purchase! Some other little things of note that you may encounter, depending on how frequently you've been popping inworld: Unpacking - Items now frequently come in the form of unpacker HUDs, so always add an unpacker rather than rez it. It may make your avatar wear a bag, or - more likely - it could put an image (an unpacker HUD) on your screen. If the item doesn't auto-unpack, either click the bag or click the image and it should unpack into your inventory. Unpacker HUDs are very common now, so adding the unpacker first will usually get you what you want; rezzable boxes are no longer the norm. Layering - Depending on how long ago you were last active and changing your avatar in SL, it's now possible to layer system layers like crazy. If you want, you can put 50 layers of makeup on, or wear 5 different tattoos with three tops and... yeah. A lot Just right-click > Add from inventory. The old 'stacking heirarchy' of system layers does still apply, though: tattoo on the bottom, then underwear, then clothing, then jacket. One final point regarding what your avatar is called, relating to what I mentioned above about looking for the 'classic avatars' logo on adverts. One mesh body supplier has - very confusingly - called their L$1 gift mesh body, the 'Classic' body. While you shouldn't be seeing any logos for that mesh body on clothing adverts (the clothing that fits that particular mesh body is stuff that has TMP [The Mesh Project] as its logo; there is no 'Classic' logo for that mesh body brand) it may cause you some confusion if you hear people talking about "the gift Classic body", especially since those super-helpful people I mentioned at the start of my post might urge you to try it out, since it's "only L$1". Yours is a classic avatar and that is a mesh body named 'Classic'.
  11. Afraid I can't help you there. I'm a CSR for Catwa, not Genus But there are plenty of people on the forum who wear Genus, so hopefully someone will be along soon to offer advice. Failing that, search for and join the inworld support group (or their Discord server, if you have Discord) and ask in there.
  12. Those look like materials. Some appliers will add materials to give some additional depth, and clearing just the applier itself will only remove the brows and not the materials. Check your mesh head's HUD for any materials option and clear them.
  13. Good to know, thank you. On that point, then, I will give Legacy a slap on the wrist. Keeping on top of your update logs is crucial for a mesh head or body developer, if for nothing else than to help your support people and give them something to point customers to (and to consult themselves, depending on how heavily the support people are involved at the development stage of new items and/or updates). Another thing I will pull Legacy up on: their florid prose in those updates. Seriously, keep it brief and snappy! An update log should simply list the changes, not read like a wannabe Wordsworth daffodil-picking afternoon in the countryside. Signature update log example: Updated - neck normals for seamless head junction Updated - reduced the neck/shoulders thickness Fixed - small fixes and improvements Maitreya update log example: Changes and fixes V5.1 The Alpha page on the HUD has 5 save slots for quick alpha saving (for people who only want to save alpha this is quicker and easier than using the save stick). The Misc page on the HUD has a "New Save Stick" button that sends a new, blank Save Stick to the object folder. Added info given by save stick when rezzed. Catwa update log example: Female HDPRO [HEAD v1.3] Update 27th Sept 2020: BOM Pack: Added Brows, and some cheeks tattoos. Head Updated to v1.3: Rig [Chin slider] Glitch Fixed. Aaaand Legacy update log example: Goodbye Seams! Elevate seamlessly to new heights with no seams in sight! While the natural Second Life physics limitations will cause turbulence and glitches on any worn mesh the higher you go, especially with visible on heads, we've been able to keep Legacy's advanced Alpha Cuts, while maximizing the connectivity of each intricate point to fight against this physical limitation. The power & combination of these Advanced Alpha Cuts, unparalleled 5 Advanced Applier Layers, & point precision control, can now be enjoyed seamlessly, exclusively for Legacy body owners. Delight at the sky's height of your choice, without second thought. That could easily have been summarised as "Fixed: Seams occurring in the body above 1000m elevation", but I guess that doesn't have the same kind of sales pitch...
  14. Indeed it is. No disagreement from me there. What I do disagree with is the label of "trash" applied as a broad spectrum without considering that the person being addressed may possibly be willing to overlook the issues that you (or I) might consider "trash", or that they may not experience some of them at all. (Example: I have no problems with the media part of the Legacy HUD. It works faultlessly for me, whereas you say that it had you ready to throw your monitor at the wall. I really have to work at understanding the slider response on Lelutka heads because I'm so used to the way that Catwa heads respond to the same sliders, but habitual Lelutka users would probably have the opposite problem. Horses for courses!) And here we come back to the "according to the person's requirements and wishes" part of my post. Yours (taking hi-res photos above 1000m altitude) will be different to someone else's (possibly just looking good for picking up the ladies on a ground-level beach, or what-have-you). I find it no hassle to spend 30 seconds cloning out a hairline crack that may appear near my armpit if I'm taking a fashion shot above 1000m inworld, and - as you've already stated elsewhere - you can sometimes spend ages in post, fixing the alpha layers on your mesh beard for a photo. While you might (and clearly do!) find that necessity annoying, you still do it for the sake of the image, and I've done similar things in the past with tattoo layers on the V-Tech add-on. What each individual is prepared to tolerate in order to get the look (or the shot) they want will vary wildly. (In addition, the elevation seams were fixed for the pregnancy and original female bodies in the 1.3 update toward the end of last year, and will shortly be fixed for the male and 'Perky' bodies. Yes, it's taken longer than it took Maitreya/ Reasons why? No idea, but it's known and is being worked on and fixed.) This, again, is entirely subject to one's own personal taste. The vast majority of users in SL don't know about and don't care about complexity. Working as closely as I do with so many of them, by far the vast majority (we're talking the high 90s in percentage) just want to look good, and they're not even remotely interested in "all that techy stuff". (Hell, a lot of them aren't even interested in the "techy stuff" that comprises the rather essential HUDs that come with their heads and bodies, so expecting them to care about tris and vertices is like expecting you to start your own Justin Beiber tribute act! ) Understood. I get why - for some - it's a choice they absolutely refuse to countenance. But for others it fits exactly what they're looking for.
  15. I may not always be right but I am never wrong. Addendum: I'm unable to edit this to include the correct quote now, but I tender my apologies that I quoted the wrong two responses, above. My intention was to quote this pair of nested comments. It was not my intention to suggest that Rowan's "I may not always be right but I am never wrong" was a personal opinion! Personal opinions, both. When giving avatar customisation advice, I strive always for as much impartiality as I can muster - to the point where I have to bite my tongue when I see people trashing the brand that I work for in a manner that infers that the products within that brand don't even work properly. I think that everyone in this forum has seen how I don't shy away from helping those with other brands of mesh head (including those that many [for some ridiculous reason] see as 'rivals' to the brand that I work for). In short: unless a product itself is absolutely unworkable, or has a specific flaw or issue (case in point: the complete lack of clothing support for the body being asked about in this thread) then I consider its merits and recommend or advise - according to the person's requirements and wishes - based on those merits. The Legacy body itself is not a piece of trash. It: looks great is perfectly functional is regularly updated has full BoM functionality has an active support group supports both the new Universal Neck and the older neck options has wide clothing and skin etc support within the creator community Are there downsides to it? Of course. It: makes use of media for its HUD, which can be problematic for some has a higher complexity than other brands costs more than other brands has a chequered history And that last point is where most of this opprobrium for Legacy arises: its history. I was long one of TMP's most vocal critics. I have written at length - both on this forum and on my blog - about my thoughts regarding The Mesh Project and their particular business practices that led to me actively advising against purchasing from them. I have also written at length about why I decided to give Legacy a second chance, despite the brand arising from the same stable as TMP. Many (if not most) of those who now wear Genus heads have forgotten (or perhaps they never knew) the history of how Genus came to be. Much of it is now obscured in the mists of long-abandoned/deleted blogs and websites (and in all honesty it was all pretty murky even back then), but from what I gathered at the time it came about in a similar manner: with a split (which seemed pretty acrimonious) from an older brand. Granted, that older brand (still around but never really spoken of these days) had nowhere near the amount of issues that TMP did, but the circumstances of Genus arising are somewhat similar to Legacy: a sole part of an old team striking out on their own to create a new brand. The team behind Legacy are not the same team that was behind TMP. They have the files for the old TMP bodies (which they finally updated to Bento and BoM and then released as a permanent gift) and they have the land, but they're not the same team. I will continue to list Legacy as an option whenever someone has a question where a recommendation of them would be relevant, just as I continue to list Aesthetic (with mention of a couple of side notes to be aware of) as an option where a recommendation of that brand would be relevant, despite the community's (and my own) general opinion of Aesthetic in terms of looks. You specifically asked - - and I gave you that specific answer, by going to Marketplace and showing you what the clothing support was like. The reason why Actanon users didn't flock to reply to you is that there simply are not many people using that body, and clearly they don't visit this forum. As a Brit I am... blessed with Boris. But thank you for the thought.
  16. I honestly don't think it'll ever get to that point. Gianni still has a huge amount of support, and right now the creators dropping support for it are - from what I've noticed - the ones I might expect to keep rigging for Jake and have moved to Legacy for its slimmer look and versatility with shaping.
  17. The reason for that is that it is a body by Tellaq. And the older Tellaq bodies had the same issue: proprietary when it came to skins and clothing. You're mostly limited to buying whatever is available at the Tellaq store.
  18. Folders won't go into a prim. The only way to keep things separate is to box up each folder's contents into its own box, and then put that box into your main 'archive' prim.
  19. There are several reasons why I've never reviewed Jake on my blog. (I'll collapse this into a quote, to avoid taking up too much room in this thread with images. Expand to read it all.) In short, I'm somewhat flummoxed as to why support for Gianni - despite it being more of a pain to rig for - is being dropped by some creators, in favour of Jake.
  20. The area around the left breast looks as though your system body may be poking through the mesh body. Suggestions to try - in order: Power cycle your router. Turn it off, unplug it from the wall socket, wait for at least 30 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on again Check that you're using the latest versions of your head and body. If you are, unpack fresh copies (or redeliver for fresh copies) then - if you're using BoM for your avatar - re-enable BoM on both. If you're using appliers, ensure that you have the relevant alpha layers on Final resort - if neither of the above work - is to delete your settings.xml file. This file can become corrupted when you have a crash or experience other issues. Instructions are below:
  21. Those 7 items are recolours of the same pair of pyjamas. It's not like those of us who have been shopping for male fashion for the past 13 years actually know anything, I guess...
  22. Not sure on the first one (Olive, perhaps?) but the bottom two are by A+Y. On the left is Lum - And on the right is Dext (worn with a thick hairbase) -
