  1. "We people" are perfectly well aware that online status can be tracked. That feature is built into the viewer itself (e.g. groups), and has many useful LSL functions such as online status boards in stores to let customers know when support people are available to help them. What shouldn't be trackable - and what both I and Qie are trying to get you to actively check for - is someone's location. There is almost always a reason for why someone can get hold of your location, which has been covered here. If this person has found another way then it may need to be reported to LL as a potential bug or security issue. If you're going to refute all suggestions that are being offered for you to try, and simply tell those of us who are trying to help you that we're all stupid, then don't expect to get much more in the way of assistance from anyone else who may come along and read this thread.
  2. Try some experiments to verify not only the above, but also to rule out a few other things: Go into your viewer's Avatar menu and change into one of the two Default Test avatars (or go into the Avatar toolbar and select one of the starter avatars). Ensure that for every single person on your contacts list, you have unchecked the 'can see location on map' option. This includes any and all alts that you have. If you don't have any of your alts friended, add one before the next step. Remember to disallow them viewing your map location. Log that account into the SL website so they can see their Friends Online list. If your viewer allows RLV, disable it, then relog. (If you're currently under RLV restrictions, you will need to log out first, then disable it while logged out.) Now teleport around - with RLV disabled and in one of those starter avatars. When teleporting, only visit EMPTY regions. Don't go anywhere that you see green dots on the map. Try ocean regions with names first of all. Still following you? Next step, if you're using any viewer other than the Linden Lab stock viewer, download that stock viewer and log in using that. Same starter avatar. At regular points throughout this, have the alt who is logged into the SL website reload the page that lists their online contacts? Do you show up as online? If so, is your name showing as a green link? If so, hover over it. It will show the region where you're located. If step 8 is happening - despite your having done everything else - then you need to raise the issue in a ticket to LL.
  3. My guess would be the same as that of CandyJewels: you're wearing the head but possibly also wearing an alpha layer that covers your head, which is rendering the head invisible. Remove the alpha and the head might appear. The inventory icon for an alpha layer looks like a white t-shirt with a pale grid pattern on it. From your profile I see that you're very new to SL. First of all, welcome! Secondly, and for future reference - from someone who is a CSR/Manager for another mesh head brand - when you say that you "contacted the store" do you mean you sent an IM to the store's owner, Thora Charron? If so, the message you received about contacting "the team members" was very likely an autoresponse. Most of the 'big name' creators in SL are far too busy to do their own support (which can entail hundreds of queries every day) so they have CSRs and Managers to offer that support for them. The Lelutka support team members are all listed in Thora's profile - under the Picks section - with clickable links to bring up their profiles so you can contact them. The Lelutka support group and Lelutka Discord server are also linked there.
  4. That is not what I said. The lesson that you learned was not that you can't trust SL. It was that - when a creator offers you a completely free demo of a big ticket item, for you to try out and make sure that item is the right thing for you - you should get that demo and try it out before you pay money for the full priced version. The free demo was right there in front of the big ad board, as indicated in Fritigern's image. You chose not to get it and try it out to find out what it contained. And now you're blaming the creator for your decision not to 'try before you buy', when they offered you every chance to do that without paying any money upfront.
  5. You've learned an important lesson for SL. When you're purchasing a big ticket item like a mesh head or mesh body there will always be a free demo available, which is there for you to try out so you can ensure it's right for you before you fork out for the full priced item. You wouldn't buy a new car without taking it for a test drive. In SL the demo is the test drive.
  6. This post should have you covered https://virtualbloke.com/archives/3634
  7. You could look at it that way, or you could also consider "Why try to improve it?" because Maitreya have added multiple improvements to the body. If you're using a version that's so old it can't even accept BoM then you're missing out on: much lower complexity hands and feet both now attached to the body instead of separate add-ons (which frees up attachment points) separate save sticks for appliers and alphas so you can have a save stick for each outfit if you want (no longer limited to the ones on the HUD) additional parameters for gloss, emvironment, intensity, transparency, mask etc. ability to set glow, full-bright, tint reset, additional environment effects etc. all the new Glam Affair skintones new nipple shapes and preset textures all included skins now with BoM layers two new foot height options option to set foot heights differently on each foot (great for photography, if you're into that) materials presets (including HD ones) new mesh lingerie from Erratic redelivery button on the HUD And that was just in the v5.1 update alone. Hands and feet were attached to the body itself in a previous update. In addition, updates usually feature bugfixes, so they're always worth getting, even if you've not yet encountered the issues those fixed were intended for.
  8. By 'chrome' do you mean that your head looks like a very shiny silver colour to them? If so, then it sounds like you've got your Environment slider set too high on the HUD. The reason why they see it and you don't is likely to be because they have the Advanced Lighting Model enabled in their viewer's graphics settings and you don't. Add your head's HUD, go into the Head/Skin tab, and look for the slider that I've highlighted in green below. Make sure that little 'Environment' slider button is all the way across to the left. If I were you I'd also check that slider where it appears on any other tabs on the HUD, such as the Eyes tab, just in case you have it set too high on those as well:
  9. The blouson style is very retro 80s, and you're unlikely to find exactly that style on its own, let alone with rolled sleeves as well. You don't state which (if any) mesh body you need it rigged for, but here are a few suggestions, mostly bearing colour and general 'basic denim jacket' in mind as a style: Riot - https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/RIOT-Henry-Denim-Jacket-Demo-Jake-Gianni-Legacy/18928003 Has rolled sleeves. Chains & studs can be toggled. Check demo to see if t-shirt can be hidden (it usually can be on Riot's clothing) Semller - https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/retired-to-marketplace-Semller-Denim-Jacket-Demo/20012102 Has rolled sleeves. Check demo to see if shirt/sweater combination can be hidden. Fashionnatic - https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Demo-FashionNatic-Owen-Jacket-Fatpack-Jeans-Denim-Signature-Gianni-Belleza-Jake-Legacy/19614127 Lots of denim colours. T-shirt can be hidden. Check demo to see if back stamp can be hidden. Cold Ash - https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/COLD-ASH-DEMO-Mens-FLYNN-Denim-Jacket/16762854 Lots of denim colours. Hoodie can be detached. L&B - https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/LB-Mens-Denim-Jacket-Salvage/10857648 Colours might not go as washed/faded as you want. Also flares out a bit at the bottom. T-shirt can be hidden.
  10. Looking at your current profile pic, @TeeCay I will also suggest Signature Gianni, although with a bit of work Legacy can also get to that shape. I will also echo others in suggesting that you avoid Belleza Jake, especially if you plan to use a mesh head from Lelutka's Evolution range, as Jake will not fit the neck of an Evolution head. As others have said, Jake is now very behind in terms of updates; to the point where I'm loath to recommend it unless someone is willing to overlook the lack of updates, the poor neck fit against mesh heads that use the new 'universal neck', the third-party workaround to enable BoM, the splayed fingers issue, and the multiple copies of the same body in the folder each with a differing set of hands and/or feet. I do, but I suspect the upper arms won't be an issue for the OP. That said, for future reference... To slim down the shoulders and upper arms on Signature Gianni: Zero the shoulders, pectorals, and torso muscles sliders. Yes, it'll look awful. Bear with me. Slowly start to push each of those sliders back up in small increments, one after the other, in small units. This will bring the upper arms closer to the body and reduce that 'bracketed biceps' look. Keep going until your upper arms are to the size that you want. Finish by adjusting shoulder width - again in small increments. Remember to keep pulling back your view to see what you look like from a distance.
  11. You'll be missed, Oz. Thank you for everything, and enjoy your retirement
  12. Same cheekbone slider. Default character test male avatar: I guess the basic Linden avatars are also poorly configured design failures, too.
  13. It absolutely is possible to 'break' the mesh of a head by pushing it beyond the limits of what the rigging will tolerate. It's not a permanent thing, and it can be undone by reducing the extreme slider adjustments. I have seen it happen time and time again when people are trying to achieve certain looks. So, when I say that it's possible, it's possible. I deal with this day in and day out, so I can speak with some authority on the matter. Here's an example: Those irregular dents and spikes on the cheeks either side of the mouth? Those have happened because the mesh has been 'broken' by pushing a combination of sliders beyond what the rigging can tolerate while retaining a cohesive and unbroken shape. For a further illustration, I've just deliberately 'broken' the mesh of my own head, by pushing the cheekbone sliders beyond the other slider settings around my eyes: You can clearly see the breaks under my eyes, where the vertices of the upper cheeks break through into the vertices of the lower eyelids. That's what I mean when I refer to 'broken mesh'. To reverse it, all I need to do is lower that slider setting until the upper cheeks no longer break through the lower eyelids.
  14. I'm a CSR and manager for a mesh head creator (although not the brand that you have opted for), so hopefully I can explain a few points raised in your posts here. Neck seam Your Maitreya Lara body has different neck size options on its hud: Type 1 and Type 2. Add the Lara body HUD and go into the Skin/Base tab to see them: (If you don't see Type 1 and Type 2 there, and instead you see more numbers, then your body is an older version. Redeliver it to get the most up to date one.) The two Type 1 options are for much newer mesh heads that feature the new 'universal neck' fit, while the two Type 2 options are for older mesh heads. Since your Genesis Lab mesh head is an older one, ensure that you're using one of the two Type 2 neck sizes. Try both of them to see which gives you the closest fit. In order to minimise the neck seam after you've got as close a fit as you can with the actual mesh of the head and the body, you will need a BoM skin in the same skintone and from the same creator (or from two designers whose work is created to work together, e.g. Maitreya's included body skins match to head skins from Glam Affair). A BoM skin may be an all-in-one on a system skin layer, or (more commonly) it may be a combination of: head on the system skin and body on a tattoo layer head on a tattoo layer and body on a system skin head and body both on tattoo layers Shapes and 'broken heads' When we talk about 'breaking the mesh' we actually mean over-working the shape sliders beyond the point where the head's rigging can handle it and still look good. For instance: you could push one slider to 0, and - separately - another slider on the same area of the face to 100, and although your head might look a bit odd the rigging could probably handle it. However, if you set both of those sliders to those values at the same time, the discrepancy between two vastly different slider values at the same location of the head might 'break' the mesh and result in weird spikes or glitches on the head. All Bento mesh heads include a 'starter shape' that sets the ideal slider values for each of the head's sliders. Starting with those sliders you can then begin to customise the head and body settings and make it unique to you. If you wear that starter shape and then remove your mesh head you'll be able to see just how distorted your system head is underneath it. Considering that your system head needs to look like that in order for your Bento mesh head to look good, imagine what that mesh head would look like if you wore it over your old, original system shape. Hopefully that helps
  15. Well, my blog's tagline is 'Queer Eye from the Pixel Guy' but that doesn't mean I've got rainbow flags all over it In fact, I recently made the switch to a clean white theme, and I love it. It makes my images stand out much better. Anyway, I see that the OP has now changed to an all-pink theme, so your feedback has clearly been taken on board.
  16. Catwa CSR here You've applied a demo item - either to your head's upper or lower layer. Add your Catwa HUD Master from the Kathy folder, go into the 3rd tab from the top (Eyes.Brows.Neck Tattoo), and - under the Eyes Makeup section, first check the LOWER box and click the CLEAR button, then click the UPPER box and click CLEAR again, as shown below: You will find that your eyeliner may disappear after this, so try re-applying it after that. If the DEMO word appears again, then your eyeliner is either a free demo version, or (if you bought the full priced version) the creator may have accidentally used the demo texture instead of the non-demo texture on the applier HUD.
  17. The first part is your decision to make. So is the second (bolded by me) part. By all means seek advice, but don't seek approval from others regarding how you edit your images or run your blog. It's your blog, and your creative playground. You get to set the rules and decide how you 'play'. It may take you a while to settle into a style of images and writing that you like, or you may just chop and change as your mood desires. It's all good
  18. Gensaku is using a custom Wordpress theme. It's called Seedlet. A quick right-click examination of the blog's source code gave me that info. @gensaku Your theme is nice and simple - clean and uncluttered - which puts the reader's focus on your images, which are nice and bright. Will the strong sharpened image style for the first (and featured) image be your style for that part of the blog going forward? Finding a specific style for your blog and/or image edits to show readers that "hey this is a post by Gensaku!" is a great tool for general recognition in the very saturated community of SL bloggers. One thing I will suggest, and that's not to repeat the featured image at the top of the post. When you click into the post itself it's not as noticeable, since the featured image is nice and big, whereas the embedded version after it is a smaller size. But when you view the blog from the main page (the link that you gave us here) you just see two identical images of the same size. Just keeping the featured image version would prevent that repetition. Thumbs-up for the linked credits list, too! Be aware that the free version of Wordpress only gives you a set amount of image hosting space (2GB, as I recall) so having your images being large PNG files is using up much more of that space much more quickly. Using any image editor to save the files as high quality JPG files will halve the file size without sacrificing the quality (at least, relative to the size that your theme loads them). I downloaded your header image and resaved it as a 99% quality JPG, and you can see the file size difference below: Doc's suggestion of a Flickr account is a good one. There is a thriving community of SL photographers on Flickr, and hundreds of SL creators have groups on Flickr where you can submit your images featuring their products. That will all get your blog out there a little bit more. You can also use Flickr to host your images for the blog, if you find yourself running out of Wordpress storage space. Free Flickr accounts can have 1,000 images hosted there. You can also put a link to your blog in your forum signature, and while you're at it why not also apply to join the SL Blogger Network and see if you can get your posts featured on the SL Community News pages? Best of luck going forward with your blog
  19. Without knowing exactly which avatar you've obtained (there are a LOT of them, by many different brands, and of many different types) we're only going to be able to offer you generic advice. Confusing terminology coming up! Since you appear to have obtained a mesh avatar then the 'clothing holes' could be fixed in one of two ways, both of which would need further questions, like: does the mesh body include a HUD that has 'alpha cuts' on it (the HUD will have a human figure on it, with lines criss-crossing it)? If so then you can click in those 'criss-cross' sections on the alpha cut HUD to hide sections of the mesh body that poke through the clothing is the mesh body capable of converting to use BoM (Bakes on Mesh)? If so then you could use an alpha layer (if one is included with the clothing) to hide sections of the mesh body, since BoM can handle that (Some mesh avatar parts can use both alpha cuts and alpha layers, just to add to the confusion!) Further to that, another question crops up: does the clothing you're trying to wear have brand names in its name, such as Signature, Maitreya, Belleza, Gianni, Lara, or Jake? If so, then that means the clothing is created for a specific brand of mesh body, and if you don't have that body it might not work as well for you, and it's very likely that neither the alpha cuts HUD nor an alpha layer will be effective in making the clothing fit your body With regard to the skins, tattoos, and makeup, there are further questions that depend on your answers to the above: do the skins/tattoos/makeup come in applier HUD format only? (inventory icon = golden box) do they come in BoM/system layer format only? (inventory icon could be anything except a golden box) do they come in both BoM and applier HUD format? For no.1 your avatar needs to be able to accept appliers. Most can, but a few can't. For no.2 your avatar needs to be able to convert to BoM, which - again - most can, but some can't. The questions could go even more in-depth than that if we don't know what we're working with here, so a link to the Marketplace listing for the avatar that you obtained would really help us to offer more detailed advice, both for your question about the clothing holes and the issues you're having with skins, tattoos, and makeup. Could you provide us with that link, please?
  20. Sometimes - as in the case I use it for most often - it's invaluable. We often have people coming into our support group for help, and they swear up and down and sideways that nope they're not wearing the XYZ attachment that is probably causing their issue. After spending 30 minutes exhausting every other option (and usually including checking at least one more time are they absolutely SURE they're not wearing XYZ and having them assure me that nope, they're 100% certain they're not, because they've removed every single attachment) I will then ask them to meet me at the store location. As soon as they've rezzed, I scan them, and guess what? More often than not they are indeed wearing the XYZ attachment that they swore they weren't. This is exactly what my crafty fellow Catwa CSRs did when the first two female heads from the new range had been given to them for testing and they couldn't actually wear them in public yet. So it does have its uses.
  21. Scylla is correct. Those HUDs cannot detect system layers of any kind, be they skins, eyes, tattoos, alpha layers, clothing layers, brow-shapers/system hairbase, or shoe-shapers/system shoebase. Nor can they detect any attachments that are on a HUD point as opposed to any avatar skeleton attachment point.
  22. If your body was either Jake or Legacy then I would have recommended Noche's Latex Bodysuit, but that one's not rigged for Gianni. Noche are one of the few male creators that have stopped rigging for Gianni recently, which is a shame since they have some fantastic stuff. While not a full catsuit, Riot has some latex pants and a latex jacket that could work if you could find a BoM latex top to go under the jacket, and if you want your hands covered then Noche's Bill Essential Gloves are slightly older (and therefore rigged for Gianni). If you're also after thigh-high boots (note: these will not work with the pants; they're better off going over BoM latex pants. I still swear by this ancient system pair of latex pants from Immerschoen Man that I've had for years) then check out L'Emporio's Kinky Boots, which contain a Gianni rig.
