  1. I don't miss Catya at all as I am still wearing her bawahahahahaha. Though I have a few freebie heads from Genus, and from LeLutka, and Catwa, I never have used them. I still prefer my Catya, hands down. I don't care one whip about being "current", or having the newest "thing." I care about how comfortable I am in my look. It took me a long time to get the look I was going for, tweaking this slider and that one, and I am not about to change. Preferring a classic look, I am not that much into makeup, but I have a good selection that will see me through until the doors are closed on SL. I am not interested in the new HD stuff that is out there. BOM makeup? I have some, but there again I rarely use them as I don't have much control over the intensity. I am of the mindset that less is more. Hair? If I have issues, I have shapes where I have done minor, and I do mean minor adjustments so hair fits properly. My advice to you? If you miss your Catya so much, then go back to using her. Who gives a flying flip what anybody else thinks, or trying to keep up with the current "new thing"? That gets to be so tiresome. Secondlife is a place where we can be anything we want to be, and if wearing your Catya makes you happy, then wear her. You'll enjoy your secondlife so much more.
  2. I beg to differ. I wear a shoulder deformer with my 'Lara' and there are quite a few of my tops that cover the shoulders that clip with the deformer on. I thought it was poor rigging at first and then I remembered that the tops never clipped before. So what was different? The deformer. Taking it off the tops no longer clipped. And I do not mean they clipped just when moving. It was also at standstill on my pose stand. So yeah. Changing the shoulders on 'Lara' will affect clothing that was purchased if they change the shoulders. The clipping is not where one can use the alpha cuts, it is along the edge of neckline at the shoulders.
  3. Yes, I want my avatar to be anatomically correct. No, I don't go places where I show it off either. But, at least I know I gots one. I'll just throw this out there like I did in another thread for the GenX body. I think it was that thread. I forget now lol. Anyways, all the lady parts I have demo'd over the years remind me of a large-mouth bass fish sucking on air. Now, try and unsee that.
  4. I am in the camp that only uses one body. It is extremely rare that I buy just one color of an item to wear. I look at a fatpack as an investment. Even more so if it is a classic cut or style that stands the test of time. I'm very picky about what I buy, so the texturing needs to be top notch, and I also look at how it is rigged. Not everything I DEMO makes the cut. But yeah, Fatpack it baby!
  5. Personally...all the VA JJ attachments remind me of a large-mouthed bass fish sucking on air. Yes. I said that lol
  6. I second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth this. Or a block option...
  7. I totally agree. I have no desire whatsoever to try another body. I have never been a mesh body/head collector. However, I would love to see a updated Maitreya that is total BOM, no alpha cuts, that also includes the body with alpha cuts. The best of both worlds. But that is just about it.
  8. Landscaping/decorating for fall. Decided to take a snap.
  9. I recommend the whole of Bellisseria. Thousands of regions to explore and some of the best scenery around. AND...you don't need a group tag, or be a premium member to ride there.
  10. I have used the Angel Manor estates as backdrop for many of my photos over the years. It's a beautiful place, including the Rose Theatre.
  11. Just finished turning my region to fall season. I don't do much decorating for Halloween, though I do set out a candy bowl that gives out candy to anyone that wants some about a week before the big day. Halloween is just not something I celebrate. But fall...I will celebrate that until right after Thanksgiving when I turn the region into a winter wonderland for a month. Then back to spring/summer.
  12. I have a name for the male "Karens" in first life. I call them Richard, as in don't be such a *ick.
  13. And yes, I posted this in 'What does your avatar look like now' thread as well.
  14. I have been an independent blogger since I started back in 2013. Everything I blog, I have purchased myself. I say everything...except for this past holiday season when an all time favorite designer returned to the grid and put out a call in group for bloggers/photographers. I have never been interested in playing the game of who and how many sponsors I have. Compared to the majority of bloggers out there I am not a prolific blogger, but that is what I like about being a independent blogger. I blog what I want, when I want:) Blogging/photography is another creative outlet for me and I love showing off the outfits I have bought. Blogging what you already have in your inventory/closet is sound advice. Start from there, and as you can afford it, buy new things and blog them. Build up a portfolio, so to speak, of your favorite designers. And most important of all, is to have fun!
  15. Yes, these little head/large body guys and gals are everywhere. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. But...To each their own. It is their Second Life.
  16. Just ain't interested. There is only one for me and it is Lara.
  17. I am a diehard maitreya user. I am not a thicc woman in first and have no desire to be in second, but I still have curves. Not as pronounced as Kupra, Reborn, and Legacy, which is why I don't use those bodies. Now all ya'll talk about Maitreya Lara being slender, yep she is, if you want her that way, but I was at a club and saw a very nice avatar that was curvy and I could have sworn she was wearing Legacy or did a very nice Reborn shape. I scanned her and was floored that she was wearing Maitreya! I was impressed and IM'd her to say so. So a curvy body can be done on Maitreya if one is willing to take the time and work with it. The shoulder issue with Maitreya I fixed with a deformer. You would have to pry my Maitreya from my cold dead SL body. I have no plans to ever switch. Keep your tourniquet thighs, arms, and over mashed bewbs from those 3rd party creators. I don't want them. I did try the 3rd party add-on by Ecru, and to be honest it is more of an uplift, and not mashed bewbs, hence the title 'Maitreya Lift'. I liked it so much that I bought it and heading out now to try that JB gown.
  18. I prefer to use the Firestorm built-in AO. I have used it since it was offered in the viewer. I don't like anything mudding up my screen, therefore I have absolutely zero huds on my screen when I am out and about.
  19. My clothing allowance has shrunk on purpose...but I am always on the lookout for clothing with a 'classic style'. SHOES! From GOS. I have just about every shoe in that store and the current events...except the fetish ones. HAIR. I use to stick to one or two creators, but I am discovering more I like. Furniture, trees, shrubs, flowers, etc. I just can't stop...I need an intervention!
  20. 258 total, with 45% being objects or subscribers I did not subscribe to, and no matter how long I looked in the store to unsubscribe, I could not find the thingy. So...blocked. The other 55% are trolls, idjits who contacted me with sexual innuendos as a conversational opener and one interesting feller who I agreed to dance with and promptly whipped out his freenis when I hopped on the dance ball. My 2nd life is interesting sometimes lol.
  21. Makes no difference to me, but then again I don't use tiktok. I have flickr...it's enough. Years later...The Set It and Forget It is my favorite appliance. Takes a licking and keeping on rotating:) I love mine!
  22. That is the choice the creator will have to make. It could be a win for them or they could be slashing their own throat. Who knows.
  23. I will disagree to this observation. I have worn Maitreya since January of 2015. I have currated a closet to die for over the years. I am still an avid shopper, and make the rounds of all the events and weekend sales. I can assure you if it is a creator that I frequent, or even a new to me creator, and they release a new item and it is to my liking...IT's MINE. Shopping is one of the fun things to do in SL and I know many others who are of the same mindset. Now to the creators who choose to not carry Maitreya sizes...They must do what they feel is in their best interest. It all comes down to time and the mighty linden, dollar, pound, euro, yin, etc. I can respect that. But, in the process they have lost out on a loyal customer. Not having the Maitreya size in their creations, even though I may love their creations, is not gonna make me run out and buy a meshbody they do create for.
