  1. I am a Maitreya diehard. I will be a Maitreya diehard until they turn out the lights on second life. When I purchased my mesh body I also purchased another meshbody thinking I would switch between the two. That never happened. While I have gotten the updates it sits in storage. The only downside that I have with Maitreya is the shoulders and I fixed that to my satisfaction with a deformer. I have tried some of the newer bodies just to see what all the fuss was about. Legacy...lower legs and feet are atrocious, along with the HUD/separate server. Kupra? No. Just No. Reborn? Again, No. Just No. I am not thick in 1st, and have no desire to be in 2nd. I don't need to have the newest, trendiest next thing in my closet. I have no problem finding clothes that suit my taste for Maitreya, and those designers that don't carry my meshbody? Nine times out of ten not the style I would want to wear. I have a quote in my profile inworld that serves to remind me each day about my clothing/meshbody choices...Trendy is the last stage before tacky - Karl Lagerfeld.
  2. When I rezzed into this world I used the default avatar shape as a starting point. I couldn't understand why I was so short compared to my surroundings and other people. I looked like I was sniffing bootays or crotches all the time. It took me a while to learn the sliders and that I could actually increase my height and change my shape. When I went to the Miss Virtual World Academy for modeling my height increased again significantly. For many years the height slider was pushed high for me. Then I decided about 5 years ago to decrease my height. I am 5'7" in 1st. I now stand 6.78 flat footed, and in stilettos I stand 7.11 here in 2nd. I wear stilettos most of the time I have no plans to decrease my height any further. I am taller than many around me , though not always the tallest. I am like most, loving my avatar as an extension of me. Why would I change what I love for anyone or their opinion? If you want to be 8, 9 feet tall, have ginormus muscles, want to be short and wear platforms as tall as you so you stand 7' tall, or have hips and junk in trunk that are as wide as I am tall, or you want tata's that portrude a mile out, or want t-rex arms or/and a Beetleguice head then by all mean do it. It's 2nd Life. Your world, your imagination. I am not here to rain on your parade. What a dull, boring world it would be if we were all alike. We are all just trying to survive in both worlds that put so much emphasis on the standard perception of beauty. No thanks. I will do what makes me happy, and in the process try and do no harm as @colleen Criss said. You do the same. In the end you are free to derender :). If anyone is curious...my Flickr...*Some photographs are tagged moderate and restricted
  3. I use IKON and have have for eons. Have tried others mentioned (Demo'd), but for me, nothing else compares. I wear the 'Hope' eyes in plain ole blue:)
  4. I have been in Second Life 12 years. I started working on inventory organization when I was about 2 months old, having gone to a inventory management class at Caledon and one and Happy Hippos. I am ***** about my inventory. *****. I work on my inventory daily. I keep nothing in my objects folder. That is reserved for purchases, and emptied asap. Trash is emptied almost on a daily basis. Nothing is kept in Lost & Found. My inventory is sitting at 42,000. That is pretty much just clothing for my avatar. There are shoes, jewelry, hair etc...all for my avatar. The Originals are all neatly stored in Prim storage boxes. All labeled so I can find them easily. I keep no Home & Garden in my inventory. It is all neatly store in storage boxes as well. If everything was out of the storage boxes, my inventory would be pushing 300K easily I think. Maybe more? I know where everything is in those storage boxes, and if I need something I can go to said storage box and pull it out. This might not be for everyone, but it has worked for me for almost 12 years. I would be overwhelmed with 300K in my inventory, especially if it was not organized.
  5. These are the fugliest avatars I have ever seen, and I played Yoville lol.
  6. I turn 12 June 23. TOMORROW, TOMORROW, I LOVE YA TOMORROW. YOUR ONLY A DAAAAAAAAAAAAAY AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
  7. The massive amount of vendors at the Shop & Hop required me to rethink my strategy this year. I was able to get a alphabetical list of all the vendors this year and their SLurl at the venue. I went down the list and went to only the vendors I have frequented in the past or current favorites. Sadly, many shops I do frequent were not at the S&H. Anyway, I came away with a manageable folder of gifts. I will unpack them today, try them on, and either keep or delete. The H&G items I will rez and if not to my satisfaction I will delete. I did notice a lesser degree of lag this year, then again, I just tp'd around to the shops. 400 shops? It was just too overwhelming for me...and I am one of those shop till you drop gals.
  8. I keep seeing trending, trendy, trends...in the posts and a quote by Karl Lagerfeld came to mind..."Trendy is the last stage before tacky." I think tacky has arrived. And I will add this quote that has been in my SL profile for years..."Be careful when you blindly follow the masses...sometimes the M is silent."
  9. I was reading in Catwa group chat one day...I use the Catwa Catya as well...and one of the mods made mention that the HDPRO Catwa head Sasa is the comparable to Catya. I have the DEMO of Sasa, just haven't had the need to try it out yet.
  10. I've seen these at sales events and such. Shakes my head in dismay. So tourniquet thighs is the new trend, like panties barely covering your hoo-haa and showing your pubic hair? NO...just NO...Again NO.
  11. Thank you for the compliment @Fay Starlight. I love the landscaping at Sakura, and this parcel really checked all the boxes for me, but I love my Newbrooke more, and let this gem go earlier today. I hope whoever gets it gives it a lot of love.
  12. I let this go early this morning. I hope it gets some love.
  13. I am in love with my Newbrooke. It's a keeper. I toured the Japanese gardens and fell in love. I decided to try for one. Over the course of a couple weeks I got some very pretty parcels, a couple that I let go and some would scratch their head and think, "what was she thinking?" I was about to stop the other day and I thought let's give it one more shot. Sighs all dreamy-eyed.
  14. I lived in one of the older Asian Linden Homes for a while...This is such a huge improvement. These homes are just beautiful, and the landscaping is to die for. However, I will not be rolling for one of these homes. The Newbrooke is my wish come true. I am planting myself there.
  15. I am using this bed and bought the Fatpack as well. The bed I was going to use was 26LI. 18 LI is way better:)
  16. Thank you @Annie Nova I took apart one of my Trompe Loeil homes for the waterfalls and edited the water to fit. I forget which house but I will look and IM the information to you. I made the pools the water falls into and used Studio-Skye water for the pools. I have a few other items from Trompe Loeil homes I took apart to use in this home. The items fit right into this Newbrooke build.
  17. I have been working on my Newbrooke off and on since they were released. I landed a very nice parcel that has a berm on the left side and on on the other side of the berm is a public swimming pool. On the right side of the house is what looks to be a partial pond, or lake. I say what looks to be as my house sits on the edge of a region, and beyond is nothing but void. It is sure to be filled in by a region at some point. The parcel is a keeper for me. I have been working on the inside and I am sure to change it around and rethink things, but, the one thing I wanted more than anything were waterfalls at the windows of the Bradbury. I finally have those done and will now go on to complete the front garden. I am thrilled with the way this looks, and thought I would share. Here is a link to the gyazo https://gyazo.com/79cde0747020caac8601058d784728c5 I want to thank LL, Patch, and the Moles for a job well done on this new build. I couldn't be more happier. Thank you.
  18. Pain in the arse here...sorry not sorry
