As a British person on SL, I have only ever encountered a handful of other people from the British isles...

So where do they all hang out? Lol

Don't get me wrong, not that I only want to meet British people, I enjoy meeting and talking to people from all over :)

In just over two years, I've hardly met any UK people. Maybe a dozen, and most have been one chat and gone.

I fly the Union Flag at my place just so passing Brits will see where I'm from.

My oldest friend is UK, although she hasn't been on for weeks. My closest circle is now Canada,  Sweden, Netherlands, USA.

I'm Dutch, but living in the US since 2011. Recently I have stumbled upon a whole cache of Brits and have been hanging with these brill people, talking about marmite, scones and whatnot. Oh, did I forget to mention that I am also a bit of an Anglophile?)
Anyway, my point is that there are indeed Brits and quite a good number too, but I guess you just got to be lucky to find a herd of them, because most seem to be rather solitary creatures🙂

Yes it does seem that we are rarer on SL than I would have thought...

Anglophile :) now that’s a word I’ve never encountered before lol

The first time I'd encountered the term was in the song An Englishman in New York by Godley and Creme (Not the song by Sting, that's a different one)
    Strange apparatus
    You've never seen
    Strange apparatus, ever stranger theme
    Street alligators
    Big Anglophile
Will navigate us through a change of style

I'm not British, I am scouse ;) but have met many Brits over the years.  At the end of the day I don't really care where anyone comes from as long as we click.  Currently hanging out with a Fin, a kiwi, a sleepy person from the US and waiting on my best friend who is an aussie

I'm English, and I have some English people amongst my friends.  I used to stay up very late in order to attend US-timezone events and see most of the other people I know, but these days I prefer my bed. :)  I visited London City a couple of times but it's not to my taste; give me the wild moors or a country garden (with afternoon tea ready).

Sharing time-zones just makes for easier socialising.................Europe also works for me but I can't usually stay on beyond 12 noon SLT, sometimes earlier, and so 12 noon is my Cinderella time.

However my chums over the pond do come on before then and so it works out.

I'll try London City again but it always seems so busy and chaotic there. I tend to go for quieter places!

I do wonder what goes on, on the grid after 12 noon, and always feel like I'm missing all the action.

As a Brit, the multi-cultural multi-national aspect of SL is a big appeal for me! My best friends on here are English, Irish, Danish, Canadian and American. I have dated fellow Brits, as well as Italians, Belgian, Scandinavians and a couple people from the US!

Yeah this ^^^^ it's always a surprise to find a fellow Brit anywhere, and looking back, my first friend being a Brit was such a lucky coincidence which I just thought was normal here at the time. So we hung out most days in the afternoon, and she really did give me total help and support through those first weeks.

I do like the international flavour we get here, it's always eye opening. 👀

There's loads of us on here! We're all hanging out in the London City sim, drinking tea and eating crumpets while complaining about the weather. 😆

London City never seemed to me like the "tea and crumpets" kind of venue. More like the "twelve pints of bitter and a greasy kebab" kind of venue.

I have been in SL for nearly 14 years. My two best friends live in England. See the bloke above me? We have been together for nine years! And I am American.  I am also on at all kinds of weird times. I think that helps.

One thing I would suggest is to go to events that are during the SL daytime. Especially on the weekends. You will find more Brits there.
