It's a random thing I picked, and never realized that it would be used for anything other than a login. I'm Pearl Sextoy. I keep asking myself if the cost of the name change is worth it. (You can see the list of last names available by going to Account -> Change Name - Next Step on the web dashboard, and you can do that without committing to do a name change). Another option - if none of the last name choices appeal to you - would be to just change your first name from "Bagnu" to "PearlSextoy". You would still have the mostly never seen "Resident" as a last name portion, but that would probably be the closest you could get otherwise to the name you prefer to go by. To have a last name different from resident will cost that at minimum if that’s the only purpose (I know it’s not in your case) So to change your first name, would it cost less to just create a new account if you don’t care about a last name? To rebuild your inventory that you regularly make use of? That would be your consideration. i want to change my first name to Shasta, but I haven’t because it’s not worth it to me (I have a legacy last name from 2009). I would only do it if I could create my own last name. Which I can’t. So I will just continue to use the inworld name changer.... edit—— I saw your last name of sextoy- is that a legacy name from before resident? Maitimo Posted July 21, 2020 Share Posted July 21, 2020 You can't choose your own last name; you have to select one from a short list, or leave it as "Resident" (which is more or less the same thing as having no last name). I agree that LL likely wouldn't accept that last name. Pearl on its own Pearl Resident) is almost certainly long-gone. I wasn't going to change mine until I found out that the one name I really wanted was still available with "Resident", and the one single last name I would consider will never be on the list as it's protected by copyright. If you chose to use the paid service to rename your current account, a name that might be taken with the normal "Resident" account names, could be still available for you, since your combination of first and chosen lastname from the list could still be unique. Uhm... your entire thread is about the (new) paid name change service, which includes the option to pick a lastename from a list. I thought you knew that, since you talked with people about nameing yourself Pearl Enchantment. Enchantment is one of the names from the list. What Jumpman is talking about is the old way of how you created an account. Any account made before winter of 2010 had both, a first and lastname. Thats why I'm Syo Emerald. I had picked Emerald from a list of then provided lastnames.
