  1. Now that I have my little golf cart that works a treat this has given me the taste for driving non wearable vehicles! However, I'm really wanting something with cruise control as my hands don't like holding down keys for too long. Most of the premium cars seem to not have this facility, does anyone know of any nice options available?
  2. This process has felt strangely muted compared to previous releases. Patch says he has scattered clues, but so far, nobody seems to have picked any of them up. I wonder if it's hard for the moles / lindens to really think themselves into the mindsets of users who aren't aware of the plans going forward. They are so immersed in their work everyday, maybe things that seem obvious to them may be not at all to us?
  3. I would like clues which are hard enough to feel satisfying when you get them, but not so obscure as to be demotivating.
  4. Maybe if we take the first letter of the name of each released region it is a clue tot eh new theme?
  5. Maybe the clue is that camel in the 'not a market-place'? These themes have been planned for a while.
  6. 14 faves! I really like the look of 'old me'! She looks interesting.
  7. It is nice to get acknowledgements, especially when I'm not sure if what I've written makes sense! Or if I say something which seems funny in my own head and others agree. The likes are an easy way for people to realise that what they are saying is being read, and it is encouraging in that way. Being quoted, or responded to in other ways is nice as well. Surely this is how we work as human beings, hoping that what we say matters? On the whole anyway! I think where a few people diverge from my thinking is in seeing the numbers as a competitive game, or believe that enjoying the likes is a bad thing in itself. It would be an empty experience for me to design posts just to 'up an arbitrary score'. There has to be more to the desire to be here than that. I see the forum as a place to share our experiences of being in SL, and the sharing back and forth is a big part of my overall enjoyment of the platform.
  8. I want to state that I believe this is totally in line with the original plan, that nobody is behind schedule and for anyone to suggest any different would be foolish, and a fake news conspiracy. Hopefully that will save me from the wrath of Patch and his bells of shame. 🔕
  9. Thank you for the helpful tips. There is so much to play with, and that reset button is very helpful! I'm working on making a more natural looking smile, if this is even possible I'm not sure! So far I have got as far as 'quietly amused'.
  10. I am currently changing my style, and taking advantage of easier layering with BOM to go for a mix and match wardrobe. I have less pieces than I used to, but I like everything and it mostly all goes together so I can make multiple outfits from the same pool of clothing items. When we returned to second life last year all the wearable stuff in my inventory was very out of date, so it was a chance for a complete clear out and a new start. Keeping to a fixed colour palette is easier for me. Shopping take longer, because I'm trying potential new purchases with things I already own. Now that I am consciously dressing for a more mature look the thought processes of buying need updating as well! Today I'm wearing; Neve Hilly Haalan Happy Undead Ingenue A rummage through my wardrobe would reveal many clothes and shoes by Tetra The rest are single item purchases from places such as; ROC Coco Alaskametro>3 After the BOM update I am actively searching for quality system layer basics and this is a work in progress!
  11. It could also be that this particular dream plot isn't what you really want. Sometimes it is hard to know without actually getting to that point. Give yourself some time to work it out.
  12. Like the way the traditionals reach into the mountains?
  13. Yes, that's true. The Mole Hill is at the bottom end of the 'end of world', I wonder if they plan to turn the corner and go South?
  14. Mountains from Mole Hills, or speculation, supposition and perhaps-osis (SSP) At http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SSPE1062/249/146/81 SSPE1062 I climbed a very steep 80m+ hill / mountain, at the very edge of the not yet uploaded new land. Q1: Is this to be an isolated feature, or will it be a foothill of a new Mountain range? Q2: If foothill = true, and therefore mountain range = true, could this mean an early indication of a 'change of theme' visual barrier?
  15. I now have an irresistible urge to start singing the timewarp song from the Rocky Horror Show! @Evarne it's up to you, if you like the plot otherwise then derendering of putting up with an unwanted tree are the only options. However, if you have been enjoying trying out new homes and you'd like to try for your perfect spot, just go for it!
  16. Well done Elena! it must be so satisfying to see your own designs in-world
  17. My reading of the situation was that they didn't want to IM the same person twice and they were 'tidying up' a crowded scene by de-rendering. The empty alt thing for forum posting, forums (in general) can be a bit aggressive and our accounts are linked so a wrong move could end up back-firing in-world. It does feel a little like treating socialising as an admin job though. I think it takes a long time to get the nuances of SL, especially lack of meaningful responses to communication. Posting here and asking for insight seems like a reasonable strategy. I have no idea what happens in clubs as I tend to avoid them, but groups are a good way forward. If they are lively , you can read without joining in for a while to get the vibe. It's normal for all this to take longer than you might think. As for culture, in our part of the world, talking to random strangers is the norm (north of England and not in a city).
  18. On that track, it would be cool to have a variant of 'The Mended Drum' as a hangout/bar. maybe The Repaired Cello It comes back to me that a local radio DJ would refer to his own local public house as 'The Rat and Handbag'. I can't help thinking that he wouldn't have copyrighted the use of that.
