  1. It seems to me that 'covenant enforcement' is the business that LL are moving into right now, or at least one of the threads of their new business model They have become more like property landlords and less like land leaseholders who just get their money whatever happens. When someone misbehaves in a houseboat they ruin the experience for a lot of other surrounding plot-holders. Some of the mess seems to be created by very casual users who have butterflied off elsewhere after their five minutes of dumping something which turned out not to work very well. This kind of stuff needs a big broom (or snow shovel) and that's just down to staffing levels. (photobooths balanced on HB roofs really grind my gears as well) However, some of the problems though are to do with the theme itself. I really don't like palm trees growing in 2" of wooden deck over sea-water. Much as I love horses, real and virtual, they don't look right in any of the current Belli theme styles. Thick snow is completely jarring to the eye. If there was a tropical theme, a country farm theme and a mountain snowland then some of those people, who are looking for community life in SL could find a more suitable space to express themselves. We only have four themes to go, but if the team can come up with a careful mix which covers the broadest popular wishes then hopefully that will let the steam out of some of the inappropriate restyling as premium members try to adapt homes to suit themselves. That will then concentrate resources on tackling the careless or vindictive spoiling of our beautiful landscape.
  2. Eep I was agreeing with you! I'm actually not sure what 'calling people out' means so I can't comment on that. I'm not going to make assumptions about how savvy people are as I know so well that even after all these years I have deep chasms in my knowledge about SL, even about things that afterwards seem to have been obvious. I have only got one account also, and it takes a bit of nerve to give up that one home and risk trying to find another plot which suits you better. I was trying to offer encouragement rather than slapping someone down, though I understand that it is easy to read plain text in a different way to what had been intended. edit: I was agreeing with your written text, I didn't spot your like, doing the multiple quotes thingy was beyond me on my android device.
  3. @Xeriko Melnik Agreeing with this above, and @Mitch Merricks . This is a random allocation system, it takes a while for people to find what suits them, and it also takes a while to work out what you want from what is available...and what , if any, the compromises need to be. Don't forget you can move too!
  4. Aww no! This forum can be counter-intuitive at times. @Peony Swee*****er I'm impressed with your work. You managed to capture the softer skin of a more mature face which is so hard to do. I missed @Eqix's supplementary comment earlier about maturity being about the whole look and it seems to jump out at me now. In my ideal world it would be easier to get ideas from other SL members who have found ways to age gracefully. Maybe there are blogs and flickr feeds out there that I haven't found?
  5. @MillyWH I've been thinking about this thread, and your picture, how much easier it makes it to actually see examples of converting garments that i would normally overlook. Your example works really well.
  6. Oh I love it! This stretch of road feels like a real place. No steps though, what were they thinking??
  7. That sounds like a nice idea. I can't think of a good thread title either!
  8. There are a few houses along that row that are in my list of 'if I got this I wouldn't be able to move and then what would I do?' places It's beautiful, enjoy your gorgeous plot.
  9. @Elena Core I'm really hoping for more choice now we have BOM as my understanding is that we can re-use well made skins from previous years. Your avatar really does look lovely. Ideally I'd like something a little older but still as pretty. Just plucking a well known celebrity face at random; Looking like Jennifer is still a fantasy but she is nearer to my age, I don't have her clothes budget in real life, and I'm sure she looks a lot rougher when she gets up in the morning , but the virtual fantasy me has similar but invisible stylists and house cleaners. I can't imagine Jennifer turning out for a shopping trip wearing tiny cut off shorts and a bra made from electrical tape and I really don't know if it is an age thing, or a me thing, but I don't want to do that either!
  10. Why not mixed size plots? This would mimic real life. 512, 1024 and 2048 for sharers. I agree with @Marianne Little about those hard borders with gaps, but with @ChinRey that Mole made landscaping items in the gaps would really help the look and make a theme.
  11. That's so lovely to read. I've been wanting a 'joined up' virtual space for a very long time and it seems from the popularity of Belli I am not the only one.
  12. Ooh thank you so much forum peeps for the shout out, I've got a lovely spot...and I only logged back on my pc to redo my grocery order Cheddar bay.
  13. It was a horrible sight. I don't think we are doomed to financial ruin though, despite the difficulties.
  14. @TheVeryFirst Really! I just assumed that scripts wouldn't work and gave up in the old place. I haven't tried many vehicles in Belli but the ones I have seem to work well.
  15. I revisited a plot in South Haven which I had given up this week, and at one point there were two other switcheroos and me standing in the road! Now have a Phelps abandon which backs onto the railway.
  16. Camper (s?) available steadily last few hours on land page. @YamilaEnid nobody knows! There are Victorian regions being built right now, if you look on the map inworld and search for sspe1043 (just picked at random) you can go visit the build. Of course plots in existing builds are abandoned at times also.
  17. Thanks @Nikilei I didn't understand what you said!
  18. If that person's account was hacked then is it their fault though? They've lost their money, you've lost your goods, the only person who wins is the hacker.
