  1. I think it dashed past! ...and the Buttery one slipped away also
  2. Overall very positive. Landscaping looks really great, I really appreciate the larger windows on some models. I noticed that one of the houses had a blue/grey exterior, otherwise I was struck by the amount of brown and cream. Maybe I've got @Alwin Alcott's wood problem?
  3. I didn't spot that at all before, well done @PrudenceAnton ! So this could be a Tahoe inspired cabin??
  4. It would be lovely to see a picture when you finish!
  5. @PrudenceAnton was he basing his thoughts on the interior, or the partly shown exterior of another house that you can see through the window? I maybe wondered if he might have missed that in a quick glance.
  6. Would it be cheeky to ask who makes that mod? I have an interior wall shell but I can only use textures from the hud for that.
  7. Does he know that a lag (especially an old lag) is someone who has previously been in jail? Now I'm seeing them all as the cast of uk vintage comedy series set in a prison ..porridge... I wonder who would be fletch?
  8. @Loretta String Oh what a beautiful house! Thank you for sharing, your decor is an inspiration.
  9. You really summed this up for me! Even within the trads I'm now finding the single story houses more cosy. I'm open to this new style as I'm hopeful for nice landscaping.
  10. Random people uploading their pubes to flickr and getting in the way of my search for Patch (Linden) to see if he finally posted a new linden home hint (he did). The downsides of keyword search
  11. I think my treehouse guess was wrong after studying the photo. I'm going for single story, with rendered or stone walls outside. In that scenario the tree seen from the back window is situated down a slope from the house. That would also put the deck at ground level, which intuitively feels simpler and therefore more likely. The trees in the far background look the same as the foreground trees to me (no snow), just the effect of Patch's windlight setting to my eye. If this is a single story example, there could be other types of this house style which have an upper floor. This looks like a full sized parcel, rather than the 512 camper plot. If these are mountain homes in a pine forest I'm sure they will be popular, and there are exciting possibilities for natural landscapes to visit and drive through. This is house-style five and doesn't look wildly different to what has gone before. This does make me wonder if there will ultimately be more continuity, and less variety of theme than in the old Linden continent . We've been thinking that due to the popularity of Meadowbrook there *have* to be some modern houses on the horizon, and I know fantasy fans have been hopeful for something less 'human'. What if this isn't actually going to happen? The team can only cover so many needs, and a Bellisseria which completely removes the desire to live elsewhere in SL was never the stated plan. Maybe having a themed continent with no jarring changes of style is actually what the majority want?
  12. Another ?chalet style? house in background edit; the trees are lovely!!
  13. Is that a hedge at ground level through the window? Maybe a wall. I can see another house as well.
  14. Doh, thanks to @Alwin Alcott I only just spotted a really obvious pun! The (not white) Cliffs of Drover. 102m high Good hang gliding territory. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Drover/113/68/97 Overlooking the new Victorians. The water underneath is very deep too (seabed 1m), great for jumping in! Need a good splash on entry though, and a few bluebirds in the air, as in 'thar'll be bloooburddds over, the (not) whaaaat cliffsofdroverrrr, tomorrooooow just you wait and seeeee. Just in case this is one of those 'so obvious you might fall over it patch clues' I checked out the rest of the lyrics of the song. I didn't get anywhere.
  15. I need that astonished emoticon that's available on facebook!
  16. What about making a gravel garden? As if your houseboat used to be in deep water, but a turn of the tide washed up some debris. You could half bury things into the terrain / sand / gravel, as if they have been naturally covered up. Maybe a broken boat hull, or old fishing tackle? Then you could have a shoal of small fish darting in and out, and bits of weed which have taken root. Make a sunny place to lie down and look up at the sky through the water's surface? Any bits of plant movement or animation would be interesting (crabs?)
  17. exquisite ....aargh to no late edits for early morning typos!! You'd think BBC America would pay BBC UK for the use of their programs?
  18. I first saw Fry and Laurie on 'Saturday Live', a topical comedy sketch show from the 1980s I believe, and Rowan Atkinson, of course , sprang up in the comedy show 'Not the nine o'clock news' which was also really influential. Rowan Atkinson was extremely memorable playing a captured mountain gorilla being interviewed for a chat show. Did nobody else see these? I love Wodehouse his use of language is esquisite. Also, with more relevance to the original topic. I actually wonder if i designed my avatar to be a combination of approachable and yet unlikely to be 'hit on'. The latter being something of an inconvenience. As soon as I abandoned a generic 'out of the box' look this was easier to do.
  19. The railway isn't properly open yet. It will be nice when there are more trains!
  20. Is that Grumpy Mole Bear Mole? What a lovely scene, but with that expression he doesn't seem to appreciate it!
  21. Rhonda does look beautiful! Absolutely stay as you are. Mind you, I never go dancing, it all sounds too complicated
  22. @Eowyn Southmoor Thank you! I really appreciate your full and detailed response, lots to check out
