  1. this aged well: ...too deep? I meant well...
  2. If you hang around a place with bad vibes, of course it will affect you. Just like reading gloomy news all day and never looking at something funny or pretty. Go find nice places - they tend to draw nice people. Then if you do feel like visiting your old haunts at some point in future, you'll have a more balanced perspective.
  3. Sylvester Stallone said he's making a movie about composers... Stallone: I'll be Beethoven. Van Damme: I'll be Mozart Schwarzenegger: Stop it guys, I'm not saying it.
  4. Goodness. Swastika is a symbol of the sun in Indian culture (and suddenly it dawns on me that might be the inspiration for the logo 😜). It's about the triumph of light over darkness ie. symbol used at Deepavali, which is today!. Also a harvest festival, and a chance for my neighbours to stick sparklers in my door grille and make a mess. There's also the Red Swastika Society, a Chinese philanthropic group, which does charity work and runs schools.
  5. why not both, if they got the time? I like the YT livestreams (though I watch them later) but I never listen to podcasts, and usually have no sound on when I am in SL. I find out about the YT from the login screen announcements.
  6. only one depiction of that symbol is the "bad one". Hopefully people know the difference before they AR stuff 😊
  7. Mine look like 0 at the moment. Donations welcome 🙃
  8. I don't hate your topics 🙂 I can't really give a fair assessment on this one though as I primarily go about as a female avie, sometimes as a demon or mermaid (also female) and occasionally as a small black cat. I have only noticed that I get less random IMs the longer I am in SL. A friend once hypothesized that this is because old avatars are intimidating. Perhaps because we know too much? 😱
  9. Well, at least metaverse hype is still going strong! surely we'll be ok 😅
  10. Mainland isn't great for mermaiding. But there are plenty of private regions that have swimmable seas that welcome mermaids eg. Underwater | Second Life Try those instead. Far less frustrating. As a part time mermaid myself - nope don't try that. At best you'll get muted and banned from the parcel. I certainly would.
  11. Sometimes I want to be totally undisturbed too. So, I log on to my alt, who I never friend people on and have "Do not disturb" in the profile. I work in a public sandbox and the only time I was disturbed in recent memory was when someone rezzed something near me and messaged me to apologise. I don't know why most sandbox loiterers have become so polite these days - maybe we all just grew up.
  12. Yes - in terms of technical knowledge. I started from knowing virtually nothing (no pun intended) to being able to host my own opensim, do simple scripting and 3d modelling, and set up my own little shop. It sparked my interest to try other virtual worlds and games to see how they work (I hadn't played computer games since space invaders on commodore 64). All of this was a total mystery to me when I first started, and SL (both platform and community) gave me a sandbox to tinker with things, which is how I learn best. I also learned a lot from reading posts on this forum. All that helped give me confidence to do other projects like build websites for work, and now I'm taking online courses in cybersecurity. Also, I can be cool and say I've worked in the metaverse for 14yrs and it's totally true 😎
  13. Thing is, we don't know anything for certain about this person, and any suggestions would be blind guesses and potentially cause more harm than good. That's why it's better to seek help from someone in RL.
  14. Yes - both weekend sales and events. Just saw something I was pretty sure would never be in a sale bin in the halloween shopping event for 25% off 😑
  15. Fashion industry. They'll drape that noodle over you and say You look fabulous dahling.
  16. I think most people take us as they see us in SL and fill in what they want to believe. Wanting to believe is stronger than any other inconsistencies in how we act. I've only once gone exploring in a male avie I made as a model for a friend's shop. He wasn't particularly manly, and didn't say much, but quite quickly a girl latched on to me and told me all about herself, including that she was a model in rl.
  17. Yep, I bought something that had a very different colour from the photo (one of those artistic product photos where it's a little hard to tell). But it had no demo and I took my chances because I liked the creator's other products. The creator had a lot of nice freebies so I let it slide and never complained. Another time I bought something where the HUD didn't work, and the maker was in the process of fixing it when I messaged her. I think in most cases it's just a simple mistake, not an intent to mislead.
  18. fun fact: edam is the only cheese that's made backwards
