actually, in over 15 years I've not met one single person who was looking for this. It really depends on where you hang out and what you do. As others have said, if you wanna date people and find a RL partner, put that in your profile.

15+ years and if it all vanished tomorrow, so be it - it was fun while it lasted. I knew this when I signed up. I might feel differently if I'd created a lot of content, but I'm mostly just a consumer.

It may not be directly profitable but maybe it makes them look good to be doing their due diligence by making 2FA easy and free, plus they already have the lion's share of the mobile os market. They can afford to throw us a bone to keep us happy and locked in.

I was just talking about the SL viewer 'remember password' option or whatever it's called, not across mulitple users on my pc. I only have one user setup on my pc, as I exclusively use it at home. Anyways perhaps the viewer is meant to work like that 🤷‍♀️

I noticed I wasn't asked for MFA if I saved password (I use SL viewer). So if i used a shared computer anyone could get in without MFA.

I'm not sure why installing something like Authenitcator would highten the risk of privacy breach. If you practice good phone hygiene (install apps from official sources/ playstores, have anti-malware on your phone, monitor app permissions, etc) these 2FA apps won't do you any harm. If your phone is compromised anything you access from it (email, sms) will also not be secure.

I didn't know there was this loophole. Way overdue for addressing it but better late than never I guess. I too have been using MFA since it was made available, with no issues from my side.

My avatar does have several outfits that mimic what i wear in RL, but it doesn't really flow the other way. My avatar is in her 20s. I'm in my 50s. In my experience, a lot of fashion trends in SL skew to younger ages, and a lot of SL users are, shall we say... mature. As for SL brands, I don't know of any that have crossed over into RL. I do sometimes get home decor ideas from things I see in SL, but then I go to RL stores like IKEA, etc. Shopping in SL satisfies my desire for retail therapy, at a low cost, and also doesn't clutter up my RL home. People will spend tons of money on something purely virtual, as any gamer knows.

oh dear. well I wasn't using it that way. I meant the actual definition of nice guy, meaning affable, charming, polite. darn young people messing with words. This is literally why we can't have nice things 😝
