  1. there's one over my neighbours linden home too. It seems to be how Moles travel. I didn't see any abductions happening.. yet 👽
  2. I guess that's the natural progression of this virtual world and its people - we've had our "childhood" of exploring, experimenting and goofing around, now we're in our late teens and obsessed with instagram, personal brands and image. I'm not sure what responsible middle age is going to look like... I'm holding out for second childhood.
  3. I accidentally ordered a cold cut combo instead of a meatball. Whoops, wrong sub…
  4. mhm. Any time I've scratched the surface of this claim, it's been plain why the ban happened. I think the only case I've heard of that might truly be unfair is when someone is incorrectly assumed to be the alt of someone else, but even that is just tough luck.
  5. In my country singular people are also dealt with, at least if they do their nonsense publicly or get caught on camera!
  6. I miss the group chat mute option (and the derender objects option, otherwise I quite like SL viewer). It's annoying to be in the middle of a chat or rp and suddenly get a pop up from group saying "ohhh I love the new hair." or "is there a staff online?" or "good morning lovelies!". I just have to tolerate it for groups I paid for, otherwise I ditch them 😝
  7. Now that I have encountered. The invitation to dinner was so very polite I almost felt bad declining it.
  8. It doesn't. After nearly 15 years in SL, personally I have yet to come across any group of this sort (I also don't go looking for them). Nor have any of the people I've met and befriended in SL espoused such views. I don't deny you encountered this, but it certainly isn't a norm. As Polenth says, such things are against the TOS - report 'em.
  9. when the exact piece of furniture I'm looking for appears as a group gift 😀
  10. If I recall correctly, in some viewers you can mute group chat. No need to mute the individuals. SL viewer doesn't have that option. Personally if the people in a group become too annoying I just leave the group. 🤷‍♀️
  11. That bugs me too. My avatar is named after an anime character, and the first community I hung around with in SL was a group of Japanese (and misc others) who liked swordfighting. We'd dress up as anime style schoolgirls/boys and have swordfighting tournaments, which was great fun, and never got "naughty". This was more than a decade ago, so perhaps things have changed in anime fandom online, and in SL especially - maybe younger folk know more about that.
  12. Interesting, I'd say it looks mid 20s. After all, most of the BTS boys are mid to late 20s and look younger than this. I call em boys cos I am about twice that, hehe.
  13. Acceptable in terms of looking adult? I can only describe what I mean by adult-looking anime, and a good example of that would be Raven Bell heads/hairdos. Like so:
  14. this pretty much describes all of SL. There is a lot of smexy, but not all of us immerse ourselves only in that. As with everything here, you'll find what you go looking for.
  15. I'd love to use SL on my phone, for things other than building, as a big screen is really needed for that. This is provided the app is free. Never paid for a mobile app and never will 😉
  16. We adapted the system avatar, for the most part. I called my avatars anime-inspired, not because of notions of authenticity but because I didn't want to run afoul of copyright. It seems, in this thread, they are exclusively referring to certain brands of bodies/heads. In which case they shoulda said so from the start 😛
  17. My flickr photos are like snapshots taken on a vacation - they document random things I did in SL over the past 14+ yrs. I did try to make some "arty", and I especially like SL forests, beaches and pathways. One of my photos I think got confused by some as a RL forest, but I just kept quiet and accept the compliments 😅 The people I follow are almost all friends, and a few whose styles I especially liked. The ones who follow me are probably half just advertising things or just randomly adding me and hoping for a follow back. Years back when there were not as many people posting SL pics, or on niche sites like koinup, it was easier to get noticed, now there's too much noise.
