    I've given object perms to several people, who are much better builders than me. They make my stuff prettier. I don't like having perms for their stuff though, and I ask them to lock their builds. I'm a clumsy clicker. My advice, make friends with people who take pride in their own builds. These ones tend to be very responsible.

    SL still looks like the most viable one.. no cyclops helmet, no Dune stillsuit and no trip to Dubai required. Just laptop, credit card and boom... you're flyin with a lion...

    Mine would be dreadfully boring. I am the opposite of a hoarder (dunno if there is a name for that) and I compulsively box things with exciting titles like "Big box of textures" and "Fullperm backups" and "Stuff I made".

    Possibly I've picked equipment that doesn't play nice with SL, but that's been the case for my last 3 computers. I can run other games on ultra settings without my GPU & CPU breaking a sweat, but SL with ALM on and standing still = đŸ”Ĩ

    do not worry, just make a female avie with big boobies and you will have friends no matter where the shadows fall. As for ALM, I still leave it off except for pics because it makes my (souped up super duper newly built by a professional geek gaming computer) get hotter than it should. No idea why, but off ALM stays.

    Today I saw a news article featuring VR/Metaverse projects from S. Korea, India, Thailand, China, Taiwan and Vietnam. All either directly selling some merchandise via virtual influencers or via play-to-earn "games". There's awareness there's money out there (an industry worth an estimated $1 trillion so they say) but nothing so far has really crossed into the mainstream. It all seems to be money thrown at potential and hype, and I seriously doubt any of the investors have the first clue about the technology. That said if LL can cash in on some of this sudden surge of interest, good for them. At least SL is a product that actually exists.

    I was watching an entrepreneur speaking about his experiences and he said something like: An expert is someone who has failed in every possible way in his area of specialisation. I'm sure there are plenty more dumb things I can do in SL before I become expert 😁

    That's a beautiful pool. I have a mermaid hud with a splash effect on jump. But I think it only works in SL water. No idea how as the script is no-mod.

    My SL stays in SL, apart from my Flickr page (which is all SL pics). I have all sorts of social media for RL (mostly work related) and gaming identities, but nothing much personal is on them, and they wouldn't interest anyone in SL, unless they wanna game with me. There's certainly no expectation to share such things in SL, in fact people here are usually very private. Maybe we are mostly the generation who didn't grow up with our faces on youtube, twitch and tiktok (thank goodness).

    Today on support live chat with my hosting provider: Me: I have auto PHP updates enabled but it's not updating ☚ī¸ Host tech guy: It's easy, just delete this one line <screenshot attached>. Your dev must have added this line to your .htaccess which is preventing your auto updates. Me: I am the dev 😄 Host tech guy: ..... Shall I fix it for you? Me: 😄
