Destination guides? Pffft. Personal Ads !!
Akane Nacht replied to Coffee Pancake's topic in General Discussion Forum
I can think of an even more cunning plan. Add a Featured Avatar section, cycling through anyone who has been online in the past few minutes. We can label it the "For a good time call..." list. 😘 -

What would you spend your last 8 Lindens on ?
Akane Nacht replied to Tayt3rChip's topic in General Discussion Forum
I tipped a DJ with my last 6L once. He still graciously thanked me 😊 -
How to manage wardrobe?

Yeah they are a form of Undead. If LL decided to purge them completely though, I'd be fine with that.

Palomma Casanova has passed.
Akane Nacht replied to Pixieplumb Flanagan's topic in General Discussion Forum
First of all, my condolences to Palomma's friends and family, and I'm so grateful for her generosity, which I benefitted from in my noob days, and even not so noob days. As for the suggestions for carrying on her legacy, I haven't thought this through so there may be difficulties I haven't considered but, maybe a: - combined memorial, to generous residents like Palomma (also a sort of history for new people to get to know the community's past), plus - a welcome area for curated donated things for new residents, and - some resident created guides for where to explore, and - in a linden space so land won't disappear (sneaked that in there) I know there would be no lack of people donating time and stuff. I would. -
Yes I deleted them. I know I could have kept them and not used, but it's just now my brain works. I go on deleting fits with my inventory too. Must be my particular form of madness 😅 I did discover that it's pretty seamless to reactivate them (I left a little money on one, and years later I was able to get her back).

hehe I never saw, only heard. Nothing like sudden drums and cymbals to get ya out of bed.

I was awoken at dawn by lion dancing across the street from my flat 😵 During covid they weren't allowed but now they are back in force! I'm sure there are some in SL, I've seen before in previous years.

btw, if you do find a party to go to, I came across a free lion dance costume at Kowloon, near the gate.

Are people afraid to talk to older accounts?
Akane Nacht replied to River Aurelia's topic in General Discussion Forum
I've been told that, but it was in an RP sim context, so I think they were just nervous I could out-para them. -

Why, in Second Life, jerks are a minor problem.
Akane Nacht replied to animats's topic in General Discussion Forum
Look at that jump in the Asia-Pac stats. SL simply can't replicate that. Scam investment spammers, questionable pharmaceutical merchants and 50cent army would be utterly lost here. 😇 -
part of why I joined second life
Akane Nacht replied to mercurial1's topic in General Discussion Forum
Some people don't like socialising with strangers on the internet (even in SL), and that's fine. Everyone makes friends differently. If your friend wants to be convinced otherwise, there are many examples of people who made friends, started businesses, collaborated on creative projects etc, who met on SL. Some meet in person, some don't. I haven't met my SL friends in person as we live on opposite sides of the globe. -

Would you ask for a refund?
Akane Nacht replied to Marianne Little's topic in General Discussion Forum
This happens rarely for me now there are redeliveries available (thank goodness for redeliveries!) but I have done it on occasion. If I just forgot, I just figure the vendor deserves the L for being so good I bought it twice. If it was a vendor glitch and it double billed me, then i'd drop a note.- 32 replies

On the head to body perspective, I notice a lot of SL kimono fit this way, with narrow sloped shoulders (as normal shoulder width can make it look abnormally shoulder-padded), and very close fitting over the boobs. It can make you seem a little bobbleheaded, but that's just the style. I wear closer fitting hairstyles to compensate. Or, as this person has done, add an extra collar/scarf or a haori.

Scrolling through the photos, the creator seems to have a number of looks, and the 'feeling oriental' might be referring to the clothing or backdrop too. It's certainly not cringey in any way. I think it works pretty well, and what struck me was the contrast between the cherry red accessories and the muted tones and snow. I'm not sure a blonde avie would have worked very well for this composition. fwiw, I'm not Japanese and I have many pics on my flickr of me in kimono (I collect them). I've only ever got positive comments from Japanese SLers.
