    You can change homes up to 5 times a day by abandoning the land your home is on but I don't think there is any definite information yet as to if and when there will be new homes.     I suppose you could rez it in a sandbox but that is likely to be returned to you at some point. Owning your own land is best if you want to rez something for a long time

    I don't think it should be mandatory. It's more a case of buyer beware. If there is no demo (MP or in world) don't take a chance on wasting your L$.
