  1. Greetings! We have moved the post to the General Forum where more users may see and contribute to the discussion. The primary reason not to necro post, is as others have pointed out, out dated information. A thread that was started 3 years ago about an issue in SL will be extremely outdated. In those cases, it is far better to start a new thread. Jokes on the other hand, well, they never really do get old, do they?
  2. Greetings! I do not personally have any information regarding how many items may have been unlisted.
  3. Hi Adam! I have absolutely no information regarding the capabilities of the Marketplace code system, so I am unable to say if targeted Enhanced items would even be possible. As for wasting money to advertise, again, only the merchant can really determine that. Many users switch between avatars, a nice luxury of Second Life, with many different users having both male and female avatars, along with any other number of avatar types and styles. With the exception of the Marketplace homepage and the Zero L$ checkout page, most sellers who pick a Landing Page PLE are already targeting users who visit those categories. In most landing page categories, either items already in those categories are featured, or related items are featured. For example, the Animals main category has Featured Items that are all related to Animals. The same with the Men's Clothing category. I would be very surprised to see a Feature Item on the Men's Clothing page for a listing for women's lingerie. Are there ever times when an item shows up in the Featured Items section that is unrelated to the category? Yes. But most times it is accidental, and the Merchant contacts support when they realize that they put the PLE Item into a category that is unrelated to the item they are selling.
  4. Since this thread has gone completely off topic, it has been locked.
  5. Greetings all! For the time being, I am going to allow the thread to remain, since this IS an issue that many users confront when they visit Adult rated regions, but I have removed the images that were posted. HOWEVER, everyone MUST follow the rules when posting anything on the Forums. 1. Please do not call out other users, for anything, ever, on the forums. This include posting images with usernames. 99% of the time it is a user to user issue and it should not be posted to the forums. 2. Do not post images snowing nudity (bits), or sexual activity. Not cool! 3. If you see something you believe violates the Terms of Service or Terms and Conditions, including related policies, file an Abuse Report. Linden Lab will investigate the report. No, Linden Lab will not tell you the results of the investigation. Just like you would not want Linden Lab telling your business to other users, Linden Lab will not tell you theirs. 3a. Linden Lab takes ageplay reports extremely seriously. Abuse Reports of this nature will always cause the Governance Team members to investigate the reports as thoroughly as possible, forwards and backwards, inside and outside. 4. Land owners/renters have final say on who they allow on their own land. Any user can be banned from private land, for any reason, or no reason at all, solely at the discretion of the land owner/renter. Linden Lab does not, and will not, intercede in issues regarding access to private land. Just as you would not want the "authorities" showing up at your house telling you that you must let someone into your house, land owners should not be forced to accept anyone they do not want on their land. We are sorry there was an issue and someone was ejected/banned, but it is a personal dispute between the person who was banned and the land owner. Please do not ask LL to get involved, on either side. We won't.
  6. Hi Gianni! For clarification, your item will randomly select a location for the user to Teleport to and of those random locations, it may choose an Adult location? That is fine. The item itself still isn't an Adult item, but you might want to put a note on the Item Description, if you do not have one already, letting buyers know that the random location could end up being an Adult Location.
  7. Hi Gianni! You are very welcome! Even though the buyer could add a TP location for an Adult location after they buy the item, it isn't necessary for you to list your item as adult, since the item itself isn't adult.
  8. Hi Gianni! If your item itself is not Adult, then you do not need to set it to the Adult maturity rating. The simplest way to determine if the listing should be set to adult is to ask yourself the following questions: Does your item show any nudity? Does your item contain sexual animations? Does your item show or describe death? Does your item show or have text words that are about drugs? If you can answer No to those 4 questions, then your item does not need to be set to Adult. Hope this helps!
  9. Hi Buffy! Thank you for your personal update. I have heard from another user that they too had the same issue and when they switched to their Gmail account, within a couple of hours they were getting the emails again. Unfortunately, I do not have an update at this time, but if I hear something from the Devs bout this, I will be sure to post another comment with the update.
  10. Greetings Alurcha Niekerk! The Enhancement is actually placed on the Art - Paintings Landing page, and not the main Art landing page. You can go to your Manage Subscription page to see this information. When you are on the Marketplace, click on the My Marketplace link at the top of the page and choose Merchant home from the drop down options. Look for the Manage Subscriptions link in the menu on the left side of the page. The PLE entry will show you which landing page was chosen when you added the Enhancement. When you go to the Art - Paintings category, your item is the only one showing in the Featured Items section. Hope this helps! Cheers~
  11. Greetings Arwen! Unfortunately, it does seem to happen every few years with Yahoo. The sheer number of emails that are sent out by the Marketplace can trigger email providers filters. As a friendly reminder, if anyone wishes not to receive emails from the Marketplace, they can be turned off through the Email Settings. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/ Click on My Marketplace then choose My account from the options. Click on Email Settings in the Menu on the left. Cheers!
  12. Greetings All! Looks like Yahoo changed something right around the first of the month. The only users reporting issues are, or were, using Yahoo for their email provider. If you choose to switch to a different, non yahoo, email address, it may take a day or two for the change to fully filter through to the Marketplace system, so there may be a 1 or 2 day delay in the emails hitting your inbox again. The devs are aware of the issue from the Bug Reports that were submitted and they will do what they can on our side to try to help resolve the issue. Unfortunately, since the change was made by Yahoo, and is not a change on our side, we do not have any information on when the issue may be resolved.
  13. Greetings! They are not correct. The Marketplace Listing Guidelines specifically says NOT to put items in top level categories unless there is no appropriate sub-category. If the item is for a pair of jeans, then the listing MUST be put into the Jeans sub-category or the category choice is wrong. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines#category-guidelines There are even 2 examples in the Listing Guidelines to try to help sellers better understand. Unfortunately, far too many sellers do this, and far too many users just do not bother to report those listings when they see them so it never gets addressed or fixed.
  14. Greetings! Please be mindful when replying to Forum threads. This thread has had no activity since October 2017. Any user may flag a product listing on the Second Life Marketplace, and if the report is valid, the item will be unlisted to allow the seller to correct the issue. The best, and only, way to keep items that you sell from being unlisted is to ensure that they comply with the Marketplace Listing Guidelines, located here: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines As long as the item complies with the Listing Guidelines, it will not matter who flags the item, or why, it will not be unlisted.
  15. Hi! Gacha and Mask are not mutually exclusive. An item can be, and many are, both Gacha items and Mask items. Therefore there isn't one, single "most appropriate" category, both Gachas and Masks are equally appropriate. If a seller chooses Masks instead of Gacha, they are not wrong. The item they are selling IS a Mask and therefore the Masks category is not wrong. Your personal opinion, my personal opinion, the personal opinion of anyone else does not matter. What matters and what counts and what applies and what we use in determining whether or not a Product Listing is in a wrong category/sub-category is what is listed in the Legal Documents that we ALL agree to abide by in the Terms of Service, Terms of Use, and related policies, including the Marketplace Listing Guidelines. We will not, based on "personal opinion" punish sellers by unlisting their items (removing them from sale) when their items do not violate the Marketplace Listing Guidelines.
  16. Hi! So you want to eliminate seeing any and all items that do not have Unlimited Quantities available, regardless of the permissions? All No Copy items, including Gacha items are Limited Quantity items. That is what Limited Quantity really means. Some template creators/sellers may set a restriction on how many items can be purchased by putting in the number available, which makes them Limited Quantity, even if they are Copy Enabled. items and even when the seller really does have an Unlimited Quantity available, they just choose to allow a restricted number of sales of the item through the Marketplace. So with asking for a Limited Quantity filter that would already do what you want it to do (hide Gacha items), that can be done by checking the Copy option after a search is done, you are willing to punish sellers by hiding their Full Perm, but restricted sales, items?
  17. Greetings! Sorting categories by Newest first will always show the newest items in those categories at the top, regardless of the item itself, and that feature has worked like that for at least 10 years, and is not broken. The Marketplace Listing Guidelines have always said that the "most appropriate" category should be used when choosing the category for a product listing. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines#category-guidelines There are many items that can be placed into multiple categories and since multiple categories may be equally appropriate, Linden Lab has never punished sellers for picking one category over another and we have no intention of starting to either. As I stated in my previous post, if a Gacha item is a Mask, and the Product Listing is in the Avatar Accessories - Mask sub-category, it IS an appropriate category and we will not be punishing the seller, by unlisting their item and forcing them to move the listing, for placing their listing into the Mask category just because some people would prefer it to be in the Gacha category If you see items, including Gacha items, that are in a wrong, or top level, category, you CAN help by reporting those listings using the Flag this item link on the listings, but if the item is in an appropriate sub-category we will not be actioning those listings since they do NOT violate the Marketplace Listing Guidelines.
  18. Greetings! Limited Quantity means No Copy. Every product listing on the Marketplace that is No Copy will show as Limited Quantity. If you do not wish to see No Copy items, then on the filter options, then after you have clicked on the Search button, put a check in Copy and you no longer see any No Copy/Limited Quantity items.
  19. Hi! Please feel free to flag Gacha items that are in the wrong categories though (Everything Else, for example). Every little bit helps!
  20. Greetings! There are over 60k+ items in the new Gacha category. I would not say it is useless.
  21. Greetings! If a Gacha item is in an appropriate category, then we will not be taking any action against the Product Listing. As an example, if a Gacha item is a Mask, and it is in the Masks category, please do not report the item as we will not be forcing the seller to move the item. If, however, the item is in the main Avatar Accessories category (ie, NOT in the correct sub-category), then please report the listing and we will action the listing. This applies to any other type of Gacha items as well. So clothing, jewelry, etc. Those items must be in the correct sub-categories. So a t-shirt in say, the Mix and Match Ensemble category is already in the wrong category, and if it is flagged, it will be actioned. The change now though is instead of advising the seller that the item should be in the T-Shirt category, we are letting them know it should be in the new Gacha category. Please do not report items that are in an appropriate category.
  22. Hi Pamela! Item Spam restrictions in the Listing Guidelines has never applied to the exact same item with different permissions, since different permissions are clearly different versions. While it wont help in this issue, since any changes made today will have an unintended consequence for either version of the item, going forward, it is strongly recommended that any creator/seller who wishes to offer the same item with different permissions really should list the items in their own Product Listing, and not re-use an existing listing for permission changes.
  23. Greetings all! Since this thread has run its course and the conversation is veering onto other, completely unrelated, topics, we have chosen to lock the thread.
