  1. Greetings all! That last I looked, yes, I am a real live human, for whatever that is worth. People in the Matrix thought they were real, live, humans too and ended up just being pod body batteries. Could be that the Jatravartid have it correct though, one never knows! Of course, neither precludes me from being a real, live, human, of course, but would make things interesting, for sure. Hope everyone had a nice, safe, holiday!
  2. Greetings! Politics can bring out both the best, and the worst, in people, which is why many say that there are 2 things that should not be discussed, politics being the first of those 2. Therefore, this thread is now closed.
  3. Greetings! All off topic posts have been removed.
  4. Greetings all! Good News! Abuse Reports are completely anonymous, so unless you tell someone that you filed an AR the person who was reported has absolutely no way of finding out, if or who, filed the Abuse Report. Linden Home regions have a covenant that must be followed, by every owner. Any parcel that has content that you believe violates the covenant should be reported by submitting an Abuse Report and the Governance Team will be able to review the report as quickly as possible.

  6. Greetings! Since this post/thread is about Games, we have moved it to the Games in Second Life section.
  7. Greetings! Since this thread is about avatars (Avatar components), we have moved the thread to the Your Avatar Section. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
  8. Hi Elissa Taka, Unfortunately, some emails get blocked by email providers spam filters since Second Life sends out thousands of emails a day to users. Yahoo is notorious for blocking/filtering emails from Second Life, but some other providers may also filter them. Customer Support is unable to unblock the item since the item was removed for Legal reasons (Copyright or Trademark), but if you submit a Support Ticket under Marketplace - Marketplace Listing Issues and include that the item was removed under the Intellectual Property Policy, the Customer Support agent can provide you with a way to submit your request to have the item unblocked so that it can be edited.
  9. Greetings! If Linden Lab manually removes an item from the Marketplace an email will be sent IF you have opted in to receiving those emails. You can check which emails you are set to get through your Marketplace Account page under the Notification Settings: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/account/notification_settings A message is displayed the next time you (or your store managers) log into your store. This message must be acknowledged and will provide the name of the item and the reason why it was removed. If the information from the display message was not noted before it was dismissed, and you do not have, or are unable to locate, the email, you can see which items were removed (as opposed to just unlisted) through your Manage Listings page. The entry will be highlighted in yellow & the reason why it was removed will be shown in the yellow highlighted area. If you have a lot of items, change the option to show 100 items per page and then check each page. Since the entry will be highlighted in yellow, a quick scroll down the page looking for just the yellow highlight will make the process faster since it is not necessary to try to look at every entry, and instead just scan for the yellow and when you see it you can stop scrolling, or scroll back up to the entry itself.
  10. Greetings all! We have moved this thread to the SL Viewers section since it is about features and functionality of the viewer itself.
  11. Greetings all! Off topic posts have been removed. Since posts after the off topic thread hijacking attempt have remained on topic, we have opted to leave this thread open, for now. However, if the comments and posts go off topic again, we will have no choice but to lock the thread.
  12. Hi Doc! The agent who was assisting with your Support Ticket has already gone home for the day, so I grabbed the ticket and processed the refund so that you would not have to wait.
  13. Greetings! I have moved this thread to the Merchants section. The seller picks the PLE category. It is very possible that there was, for the want of a better term, lag on the web page and a miss click resulted in the wrong category being chosen. Unfortunately, it is not possible to move a PLE to a different category, you can however delete/terminate the PLE and then submit a Marketplace Support - Product Listing Issues ticket and provide us with the MKT Order Number for the PLE charge and as long as the PLE is terminated/deleted, we will be happy to issue a refund to your account. If you terminate the PLE & submit the ticket within 24 hours, we will be able to issue a refund for the full amount. After 24 hours, we can only issue a pro-rated refund for the unused days.
  14. Hello KirinGale! The Marketplace does have a Quick Fill Template that can be used when creating listings of a type. For example, if you create Shirts, and you offer the shirt in various colors, you can create the first listing for the item, and then use that same Quick Fill Template to fill in the bulk of the information for all of the remaining colors you are listing. You would only need to make minor changes so the listing so that information on each listing is appropriate to the color variation. The Listing Guidelines specifically state that the seller should be putting the listings for their items into the most appropriate sub-category and not in the root categories. If a seller has placed, for instance, and outfit that has a top and skirt in it into the main Women's Outfits category and not into the Women's Skirt Outfits, then technically their listing is in violation of the Marketplace Listing Guidelines for Category Selection and they WILL lose sales on their item. Everything listed in sub-categories is automatically shown in the next highest up category. So everything in the Women's Skirt Outfits is automatically shown in the root Women's Outfits category. Any seller who does not place their listings into the correct sub-category is, literally, selling themselves short in doing so, because anyone looking in the sub-category WILL NOT see that sellers listing. If someone is looking for a skirt outfit, it makes sense to go to the skirt outfits sub-category. That seller who chose to list their items up in the main Women's Outfit category has just lost out on a potential sale since their listing will NEVER be seen by anyone looking for clothing in the Skirts Outfits subcategory. Think of it like this. You go to your local clothing store, and you are looking for a Men's Boots. What is the first thing you usually do when you enter the store? You look to see where the shoes section is. You then look for the Men's Section. The you look for where the Men's Boots are showing. Although many places may mix up the Men's Shoes section by size instead of type, at the very least the Men's shoes are usually in a separate section from the Women's Shoes. Now translate that to the Marketplace. You go to look for a pair of Men's Boots. Well, SL does't exactly use sizing as an indicator, so there is no need to list shoes by size, so they are listed by type to make it easier for the buyer to narrow down where they have to search to try to find what they are looking for. Now imagine a seller has placed their listing for Men's Boots into root Men's Footwear Category. First of all, no one will see that listing if they are in the Boots sub-category, so right off the bat, that seller has lost. They will NEVER get a sale from anyone who looks in the actual Boots subcategory since their item will never be shown. If the buyer chooses instead to try to look using the option to search the main Men's Footwear category, knowing that sellers are prone to not put their items into the appropriate sub-category, then the buyer ends up with a mess of stuff they aren't looking for and don't want mixed in with what they do want. Making it massively harder to find what they want, and giving the perception that the Marketplace is junk and a joke. If is FAR easier for a buyer to look in the Men's Boots sub-category for a pair of Black Boots than it is for them to look in the main Men's Footwear category for the same thing, since EVERY listing in the Men's Footwear category is a potential match, and not just black boots. Whereas in the Boots category only those items with the word Black in them, somewhere, is a potential match. It is far easier to go directly to the Boots subcategory and enter "black" as the search term so that 90% of the items you should see are boots that are black in the search return, instead of also having to wade through dress shoes, sneakers, etc., that you are not looking for where you might be lucky to have 20-50% of the items be black boots. If someone is just looking for Men's shoes and they don't really care what type, or they are interested in all types, then it makes more sense to stay with the top level/root Men's Footwear category so that they can see all of the men's shoes that are in the sub-categories are well, instead of just a particular type of shoe.
  15. Greetings Selene! The seller can choose to report any combination of the permissions, they do not have to use only the main item itself when selecting the permissions. That is why there is an option available to sellers that says "See Description" so that they can check that and then list the actual permissions in the Item Description itself along with any other items included in the listing. Having said that, yes, most sellers do choose the main item's permissions when they select the permissions themselves. If a seller has listed a Full Permission Mesh item and included a No Modify, No Transfer example, they will almost always choose Copy, Modify, Transfer (indicating the item is Full Perm) as the right side permissions. The No Modify, No Transfer example isn't the item being sold, and is included as a courtesy only by the seller, so it isn't required that they list the permissions on the example itself. They can include in the Item Listing Description that the example is included, and then list the example permissions, but it is not required for them to do so. When a listing is for a product that has multiple items with varying permissions on the included items, some sellers will choose Copy, Modify, Transfer and See Description, then list the permissions on the individual items in the Description. Just because the right side permissions show Copy, Modify, Transfer it doesn't mean that the item is Full Perm, but that items included in the listing have a combination of copy, modify, and transfer permissions on them. The only time that there would be an "issue" with the permissions on a listing is when the permissions are clearly incorrect. For example, if a seller has listed a Gacha item that is No Copy, No Modify, Transfer enabled, but they have chosen Copy, Modify, Transfer as the right side permissions. In some rare listings, the right side Permissions may indicate No Copy, No Modify, No Transfer, even if the item itself isn't No Copy, No Modify, No Transfer. This is the default when a new listing is created, none of the Permissions options are selected, and seeing no permissions on an item listing can mean that the seller didn't select the Permissions when they created the Product Listing, and just skipped that section. This is where the Contents tab can show what the permissions are on the item/s, if they are in folders and not a box.
  16. Greetings all! We have chosen to lock the thread before things get worse. Please try to remember to be kind to each other, none of us knows what anyone else is going through. Hope everyone has an excellent weekend!
  17. Greetings again! A couple of things about Permissions on Marketplace Listings and Items. The Permissions on the right side of the listing are ones chosen by the seller themselves. The Contents Tab permissions are what the permissions are on the item that is linked to the Listing. IF the item is a box, then the Contents Tab shows the permissions on the box itself, but not the content IN the box. This means if a seller boxes their content up, and the box is set to Copy, No Modify, No Transfer, but the items inside the box are Copy, Modify, Transfer, or any other combination, the permissions on the actual items is not shown. The Marketplace does not report the permissions on the items inside the box itself. If the seller has their items in a folder, then each of the items in the folder will have their Permissions shown in the Contents Tab, BUT the Marketplace shows the most restrictive permission on the item. This means if the seller is selling hair, or shoes, etc., with a resize script, and the resize script itself is set Copy, No Modify, No Transfer, but the hair itself is set to Copy, Modify, No Transfer, the hair will show as Copy only on the Contents Tab since the script inside the hair is No Modify. Why is the Marketplace able to "see" that a script inside something like Hair is no modify, but cannot "see" the permissions of items inside a box? The box IS the item, regardless of what is actually IN the box, so the box permissions are what are used on the Contents Tab. With the folders, each item is actually seen, so the Marketplace shows the permissions on the item itself, keeping in mind that it will indicate the most restrictive permissions, so scripts that are No Modify will cause the item to show as No Modify, even if the item itself is Modify enabled, but it is the script inside the item that is No Modify.
  18. Greetings! "Uploading" items requires the user to have access to your actual Second Life account and log into the account in the Viewer since the items are "uploaded" through your own Inventory. Giving others, including people you might trust to be a Store Manager, access to your Second Life account is a huge security and privacy risk and is also a violation of the Terms of Service.
  19. Greetings! We have moved this thread to the Wanted section.
  20. Greetings All! New categories are added to the Marketplace every once in a while, although it has been a while since the last round. Perhaps start a new Thread in the Merchants Forum section where everyone can add their suggestions for new categories so that the Marketplace Team will see the requests and see the demand? Zero L$ items cannot be sent as a Gift. Many merchants set their Demo's at 1L$ so that they can be sent as a gift. At one time, although I do not personally know if it is still true, Zero L$ items didn't log the sales on the Merchants Sales Log, so setting the price of Demo's to 1L$ also helped the Merchant track how many times the Demo's had been purchased. There isn't a specific category, or set of categories, for Mesh products except in the Builders section. There weren't separate categories for Sculpted items when they were originally released, either, again, except in the Builders section. Currently, the most appropriate place for a Mesh Body is the one of the appropriate Avatar categories, depending on how complete the Mesh Body is. If it is just the body itself (or a Body and Head) it should be in the Shapes category. If it is a Body and Skin Applier, it should be in the Avatar Bases category. If it is a fully complete Mesh Avatar (with or without a head), that has a body, skin, and clothing, it should be in the Complete Avatars Category. If you are looking specifically for a Male Mesh Body, go to the Male Shapes subcategory first, then enter Mesh as the Keyword to search for. If you wish to eliminate Demo's, after doing the search for Mesh in the category, set the minimum price using the price options on the left by entering the minimum price and then hit the enter key on your keyboard. If you wish to eliminate 99% of all Demo items, set the price to 2. This will eliminate all Zero and 1L$ demo's. The items can be further sorted using the Sort by option to see the Newest, Oldest, Best Selling, Highest, Lowest Price, etc. If the sellers themselves are complying with the Marketplace Listing Guidelines (no keyword spam, correct category for their listings, etc.), then you should have a better than 90% result on your search return.
  21. Greetings All! Nude art should be okay on Moderate regions, including Linden Home Regions that are Moderate.
  22. Greetings! As noted in another reply, the correct option would be: Spam or Disallowed Listing Practices - Harmful or disruptive content
  23. Greetings! Off Topic posts have been removed. If you wish to discuss regions and region pricing, you are welcome to do so in the Land - General Discussion section. If you wish to discuss climate change, please create a new thread on Climate Change in the People - General Discussion forum.
  24. Greetings! Please remain civil. This thread has been moved to the Your Avatar section of the forums since it is about Avatars. We have also removed a few posts that were clearly Off Topic and/or did not contribute to the conversation.
