  1. Hello Janelle Karsin, If your products are being flagged and unlisted and you have reviewed your items and the Marketplace Listing Guidelines section regarding Category Selection and you are still unable to understand why your items are being unlisted, please submit a Support Case using the options for Marketplace - Marketplace Listing Issues and provide 1 or 2 examples. Customer Support will be able to assist you further with understanding why your items are being unlisted.
  2. Hi Animats! Don't forget that some of those New User Signups are going to be existing users creating alts. While I do not imagine it accounts for a large chunk of the signups (I do not have access to that information to check), since accounts are free, there are bound to be a lot of users with mulitple accounts. I, myself, have 4, including my work account.
  3. Greetings all! If you are on your private parcel and can see your neighbors builds, you can also try lowering your Draw Distance. While this will most likely not affect items that are directly adjacent to your own property, it will stop items outside of the distance from rendering at all.
  4. Greetings all! Awesome question, Xiola! For me, I started out as a plain ole user. My first account was created in December 2006, so I have been here for 11 years and 4 months (gotta get those 4 months in LOL). I have worked for Linden Lab since January 2009, so 9 years and 3 months.
  5. Hi Kitty! Thank you for your comments and for allowing me to clarify my comments. I should know better than to post on a Monday with no coffee 1. Searching inventory & the Received Items section. The Received Items section is closed by default on the LL viewer. If it is not opened when the search is done, the user will not see any results for that area. It is very easy to miss any search results that hit items in that section. A lot of users who report not being able to find purchased items in their inventory do have the items, but the items are still in the Received Items section and the user is not seeing it when browsing, or searching for items. Personally, we still recommend that users keep that section of their inventory clear as it is very easy to forget that the items are in that section and that it is closed by default and wont show any search results while closed. 2. Inventory Lag. If a user has a LOT of items in their inventory, when they log in and open their inventory for the first time, it can take a long time to load all of the items. My use of "lag" in this instance was in reference to the time it takes to load a users inventory completely when it is opened. Not that inventory causes lag in Second Life itself, like when 10's of thousands of scripts are running on a region or parcel. One issues that was noted, and Bug Reported, was if a user opened their Marketplace Listings folder before their inventory fully loaded, it could result in their Marketplace Item Listings being affected, and unlisted. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-100560 Personally, I still recommend keeping the Objects folder and Received Items section cleared as best as possible and items from those folders should be sorted into other folders in the users inventory. I hope this clarifies what my original post stated.
  6. Hi AdamZadig, 1. Only you can truly decide if the Listing Enhancement on the main Homepage is worth it. 2. Yes. When you add a PLE to an item, the Traffic Report will show you information about the click-thru's for the item. The traffic report is 24 hours out. So if you just added the PLE today, the information will be available tomorrow on the Traffic Report.
  7. Greetings all! Thank you SO much to the community members for posting their Inventory Organization suggestions. I for one have an issue with unruly inventory as well. It is VERY easy to get overwhelmed with inventory and it is great to see the suggestions from everyone. As was said, start slow and do not try to do it all at once. Personally, I would pick the easiest/smallest group first so that it is something that can be finished relatively quickly without feeling like you are swamped with the task. It is vitally important to keep both the Objects Folder and the Received Items area cleared. If there are too many items in your Objects folder, it can cause lag when loading your inventory and it may not show all of the items. The Received Items section is separate from your main SL inventory. This means that the Search function does not work for items still in the Received Items area. If you have items in the Received Items section, those items should be the top priority for moving/sorting into your main inventory. We receive a lot of requests for help from users reporting issues with not being able to find things in their inventory, and the items end up being in the Received Items section, so search never shows those products. Cheers All~
  8. Hi All! We have once again had to hide multiple posts in this thread since those posts have gone Off Topic. Please restrict your posts to asking questions that you wish to have presented during the Town Hall with Ebbe. Comments about, or posts directed towards, other users and their questions will continue to be removed from this thread.
  9. Greetings all! Thank you for continuing to submit your questions regarding the Second Life Town Hall with Ebbe! In the interest of keeping this thread limited to questions from you, the users, for the Town Hall, some posts have been hidden. While Linden Lab loves and appreciates everyone's desire to discuss Second Life, we ask that those discussions not occur in this thread. If you wish to engage in conversations with each other regarding questions that others have asked, or issues that they have raised, please create a new thread in the General Discussion forum area. Thank you and please keep the questions coming!
  10. Greetings! I am unsure if A Second Life Town Hall will be open to questions about Sansar. There is a section here on the Forums for Sansar where it may be possible to receive more information from those who are in and using the Sansar platform. https://community.secondlife.com/forums/forum/352-sansar-for-second-life-residents/
  11. Hey SodaGnome, If you have any issues with the restored account/Store, please submit a Support Ticket using the option for Marketplace Issues and a member of customer support will be able to help you out or direct you to to KB articles about the VMM system.
  12. Greetings! If you are looking for someone to create something for you, then you should post in the Inworld Employment Forum with information and details regarding what it is you want created for you. If you are looking for an existing item, like hair, clothing, buildings, scripts, etc., the post should be in the Wanted section.
  13. Greetings all! Just a friendly reminder that profanity, even masked, is not appropriate on the SL Forums. Please ensure that your posts a G rated only. Thank you! http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Community_Participation_Guidelines
  14. Greetings all! Be careful with reselling Full Permission items. While the permissions themselves allow for reselling any Transfer Enabled item, reselling the item, especially Full Permission items, may violate the original creators Copyright. Before reselling any Full Permission item I would strongly recommend getting written permission from the original creator of the product. If you are unable to contact the original creator, or they do not give written permission, then I would recommend not trying to sell or give away the item. If an item is No Copy, Transfer Enabled, you can sell the item through the Marketplace, and I would recommend using the Used Items category. As others said though, if you received the item for free and you are reselling it for L$, it may appear disingenuous and you may get backlash from others if they find the item for free from the original creator. Any items that you purchased that do not have copyright restrictions by the original creator, like Gatcha items, that are No Copy, Transfer Enabled, can be resold without ethics concerns. Just as with selling anything you purchased from a brick and mortar store that you may wish to resell in a yard sale, consignment store, etc. These types of items can sold through the Marketplace at any time. The item should be placed into the exact category for the item (Example: if you are selling men's boots, the listing should go into the Men's Boots category) or may be placed into the Used Items category. If you are ever in doubt about reselling an item that you no longer want, contact the original creator of the item and do not resell it without express permission from them. Cheers~
  15. Greetings! Reviews are the bane of any system, unfortunately. Those who absolutely LOVE the item are more inclined to review the product. Those who absolutely HATE the item are more inclined to review the product. This is the same with any system that accepts/uses reviews whether in Second Life or in the physical world. So far, there has been no one size fits all solution to getting more reviews. You may wish to try a combination of options to see if one or more helps to generate reviews. The only caveat, as noted above, is any reward system for reviews must apply equally to all reviews, positive, negative, and neutral. If you do not already have a branded group for your products, you may wish to create one and include a notecard in with your products inviting the buyers to join your group. This will allow you to post notices to your customers, offer free items to group members, etc. While many merchants (and others) use groups that are automated in some fashion, I would strongly recommend against using any system that automatically invites users to your group, or that sends IM notices/advertisements to people who do not opt in to receiving the messages. Some suggestions that you could try include, but are not limited to, the following: *Gift Card worth XXX percent off a future purchase. *Partial Refund of purchase price for a review on the purchased item/s. * Offering an item free to someone for an honest review. (Personally I would be VERY cautious about this one. If the person is directly related to you, husband, wife, gf/bf, son, in world partner, etc., this can be seen as a conflict of interest as the person is more likely to offer a biased/favorable review because of their personal relationship with you).
  16. Hello Luna! 1-3 business days is the norm for Marketplace reports. If you believe that a review should be looked at further, please submit a support ticket and include a direct link to the review on your product listing along with information regarding why you believe that the review should be removed and Customer Support will be able to have the issue reviewed further for you.
  17. Greetings! Years ago, when the Marketplace was still owned and run under the SLExchange/Xstreet SL brands, changing the price by more than 50 percent or changing more than 50% of the text on the listing did affect its relevance/ranking. Changes of that nature on the old system saw it as an appreciable update to the item, and therefore the rankings were adjusted. As far as I am aware, this does not happen under the Second Life Marketplace system that is in place.
  18. Greetings! An option for flagging a review already exists for issues of "didn't read the manual", it is available under Off Topic - Issue already noted in Item Description. If you have included information in your Item Listing Description that addresses an issue, observation, request, complaint, etc., that your customer raises in their review, please flag the review and one of the Marketplace Moderators will be able to remove the review & comments. We only ask that you actually have the information in the actual Item Description, however. Examples of reviews that will be removed under this option include, but are not limited to, the following: * Item Description says '5 standard sizes' - buyer submits review saying no sizing for XXX Mesh Body type. * Item Listing clearly shows that the item is No Modify - buyer submits review saying that they cannot modify the item. * Item Listing is tagged Copy, Modify, Transfer AND See product details for permissions info - buyer submits review that says the item is not Full Perm. (As long as the Item Description actually does list all of the parts and the individual perms for each part) Linden Lab understands that not everyone takes the time to fully read the information and that is in no way the sellers fault when that happens. This is why the option to flag a review for Off Topic - Issue already noted in Item Description was made available. If you believe that additional information should be provided to the moderators regarding the review from your customer, please reply to their review with the information and the Marketplace Moderators will see your reply and use that additional information when reviewing the flagging report.
  19. Greetings! Advertising your products, service, locations, etc. is not appropriate on the forums. IF someone posts in the Wanted section that they are looking for a specific item and you make that item, then yes, you may post a direct link to the item (SLurl or MKT Listing URL). It is not considered an advertisement if you are replying with a link to the item that the user is looking for. Please do not post links to your main store, or create new posts/threads advertising your products or store.
  20. Greetings! There are a couple of reasons for $1L charge. 1. Zero Linden Items cannot be sent as a gift. 2. Zero Linden items used to not be tracked on sales logs.
  21. Greetings! Gift cards work as well. There is a separate category on the Marketplace specifically for Gift Cards however, so your listing might not get as many views compared to the Services category.
  22. Greetings Antieux, You are very welcome!
  23. Hi! If you are selling an in world Service, such as Photography, you would create a notecard that contains all of the information regarding the particular package being offered, including the price, etc., and then send the Notecard to your Marketplace Listings through the viewer. You would then create a Product Listing using the notecard as the actual "item". The listing price must be set to at least 50% of the cost of the Service. For example, if you charge 200L for a profile image, then the listing price must be set to at least 100L (50% of the cost of the service) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines#non-item-listings "Dispensing catalogs or information regarding a service without actually charging at least 50% of the value of that service." In world Services cannot be set to 0L on the Marketplace. The buyer would then purchase the notecard and then contact you directly in world to set up a time for having the photos taken. You can see other listings in the Services Category for examples.
  24. Hello! I am not really sure I understand what it is you are trying to do. If you could reply and provide details about what it is you are wanting to do, either I or another merchant can help better with suggestions and advice.
  25. Greetings! The Second Life Marketplace has always charged a commission fee of 5% with a minimum commission fee of 1L for items over 10L. As a seller, if you received less than the 5% difference in price, please check to see if you have set up a Distribution on the product as in most cases, the "missing" funds were usually paid out to another user that you choose when the Product Listing was created. If you do not have a Distribution set up on the product, and you received less than the %5 difference, please create a Support Ticket using the options for Marketplace and General Marketplace Issues and a member of Customer Support will be happy to review the sale and assist you further with understanding the profit amount.
