Funny story: When Genus heads were in beta, they were asking for feed back. One of the main complaints that first week was “the hud is too small! Make it bigger.” Now it has a large hud and a small hud that comes with the head. A lot of people can’t see a smaller hud.

In all honesty, I do call a 3D object a model 90% of the time. But to be fair, I’ve also said something like “Give me a minute, I’m about to upload a mesh.” Ive always looked at the term “mesh” as short for “mesh object” or “mesh model”, the only difference being in SL there are also “prim objects” and some people will confuse the two in conversation.

Mudskin is pretty much exclusively Asian skins.

Looks like Mudskin to me. The shape could be anyone’s guess. Could possibly be a shape that came with the skin.

I’m glad somebody else is saying this. A lot of people just don’t know where to start or how to start or what part to start on. There are so many people that are really creative that just won’t attempt it.

I think it’s being so well received because it could’ve easily been written by a regular poster here and it echoes things that have been said 1000x. I agree it’s focused on the “history” of SL with very little about the present or what it’s doing right currently. It is slanted on a “The failed experiment that is SL” bias. Which, again....has been written a thousand times before. With a title like “The second life that wasn’t” you kind of know what’s coming. Which is basically “People had really high expectations and hopes for what SL promised to be and then none of those things happened cause reasons”. Eh....
