  1. The problem I’ve found when you do that is: they don’t want to wear those kinds of clothes!!!!
  2. Gabriel and RKKN seem on par with Blueberry in the men’s dept imo.
  3. This has to be one of the prizes: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Truck-NutZ-fat-pack-TY/4793959
  4. You go to an event/fair and see a nice outfit. The top is there, you impulse buy. You look on the other side of the display and something not in the ad or has a different ad, but it’s totally unrelated.....like a bodysuit. Where are the jeans/shorts/skirt that are in the first ad? I’m refusing to go to your store just because you did that!!!! Stahp doing that!!!
  5. I found out about it from a TV show called Gossip Girl. They used to run commercials for SL on the show. They had a couple of SL references in the show too and a Gossip girl sim. I did think it was a lot like The Sims at first. I lost interest in the Gossip girl sim pretty fast, but I’ve been here ever since. Its funny how, 2009-2010 smartphones were a thing, but not to the extent they are now. Back then, you’d imagine SL like the beginnings of something like The Matrix. You’d plug in and be this avatar. Very Gibsonian..... Now, it’s starting to feel...I don’t know. Not Gibsonian.....
  6. When I was new, I learned a lot from watching Torley Linden’s videos on YouTube. They taught me a lot of little things, that I wouldn’t have learned otherwise, just by hanging out with the people I was hanging out with back then. Every video is about 2-5 minutes long. SL needs a Torley again. Not just for basic things, but for other things as well. I realize due to the nature of SL, it can be very difficult to decide what you want to do here as a noob. That’s why it’s beneficial to learn a little about as much as you can. Basic mesh modeling, basic building, maybe basic scripting. Like a self paced boot camp, then at the end of all the modules you get a cool little reward.
  7. Shhh!!shhh!! But, but....it has the most clothes and support...by faaaaaar! W-w-why mess with it?
  8. It’s not even just the flounce. Flexi allows for a lot of black women’s hairstyles that just aren’t possible with mesh. The flounce is a nice bonus!
  9. What’s your altitude? If you’re in a skybox or high platform, that can happen quite easily.
  10. Sounds like the beginning of a horror movie. I’m nosy, so I’d watch it. Nothing like joining a secret society, doing obscure hand gestures, a little murder to spice things up.
  11. I get that, but what I’m pointing out is it’s fine and pretty much understood that’s what it’s for. However, what happens when you don’t get the sticker like everybody else? It happens and people start noticing things like that. It was pointed out to me a while back by someone that they indeed were getting “skipped over” by certain people and on the magnitude of those couple of people that were doing it were liking everyone else’s stuff except theirs. Sure enough after a glance...they were right. I felt kind of bad, so I stopped participating in those kind of threads. Im saying it’s a sticker, yeah, but when someone private messages you out of the blue with “Hey, you ever notice....” it may not be all that friendly and welcoming to everyone. Yeah, it was a little dramatic, but it left an impression.
  12. My variation to “**** you”is I add a symbol and a number, all of the sites tell me that alone made my password “very strong”.
  13. While this is true, it can also devolve into petty things such: as so and so liked everybody’s picture except mine, hmmm, I wonder why? Especially since you can literally see who gave you what sticker. Also, when they threads like that become little communities, they start to become participation awards. Stick any old thing up in there and someone is going to like it. Then it stops being about taking nice photos and starts being about “I took this picture, like my ish!”
  14. It’s been proven that “likes” and other virtual sticker systems have an effect on users. Not only that but the things people will do for them are really ridiculous. It’s messed up, but it is what it is and we all do it to some extent. That little hit of endorphins is a powerful thing. It’s not just here either. On Flickr there are a lot of people that will mass follow people, just to get them to follow them back, like a bunch of stuff randomly so that people will reciprocate, then after a certain number of followers, they dump all of the people they followed. So now it looks like : followers 3854 following 77. Those people that were reciprocating likes are still liking their stuff long after completely unaware that they’ve been unfollowed and the like chain has long stopped being reciprocal. Sadly this is just where things are heading.
  15. Alright! I can finally change my name to Boudicca Jones like I’ve always wanted!
  16. Laq has omega, nuff said. If you like something, go for it! Catwa has about 20 something heads out. The animations are good, it’s well supported...you really can’t go wrong with it. For some reason people get really tribal about what head and body they use. I wear Belleza Freya, not because it has the second most clothing support. I like the way it looks. I own the other bodies too, that’s just my go to body. Signature came out with Alice. I wasn’t all “Belleza is the best!” I demoed it and it’s a good body...so I bought it. The next thing is “How much support does it have?” It just came out and from a creator that is known for male bodies....probably not a lot of people know about it. The thing about SL that is ironic is, as much as people are all about originality, they’re more into doing the same thing everyone else is doing. Go with what you like, that’s the road to making a unique avatar.
  17. Why not tip a creator who’s items you like? 1) basically, the rate of pay for your average creator is akin to 3rd world country sweatshop wages. 2) if someone buys something from you inworld, they can’t leave a review on MP. Which leaves them with reviews like “This bed say star shine, it don’t glow. 1star!” In other words most of the time more negative feedback, than positive. 3) if you decide to have a store inworld, it costs. It’s a money sink, but that’s another discussion. Point is, just having a thing that you are “supposed” to have can end up costing you money. I feel this way about hangouts too, if you spend a good deal of time there, you should at least donate something to them because they could be gone due to financial strain. It also begins to appear to be not worth it. Same principle applies here.
