  1. Not in world to check for sure, but from memory if the UUID is unencrypted it shows up in the description of the HUD prims you use to select each texture (if it is encrypted you will see some random text instead). So all people have to do is edit and inspect your HUD object to steal the textures you are using.
  2. It would be best if you don't link to tutorials by copybotters that contain links to pirated dev kits and software. Edit your post.
  3. Is this for items you plan to sell? If so, I would suggest looking for a script that will encrypt / encode your texture UUIDs. These will be more expensive than the scripts that leave the UUIDs visible to customers. Brands that sell scripts with this feature include PXL, KinetikTech and .:*BoSH*:. but I am sure there are more. If you are happy to leave your texture UUIDs visible, there are lots of cheap scripts available on the Marketplace, just search for "texture change HUD" and find something at a price you are happy with that has a few decent reviews. These scripts will cover off both the mesh object and the HUD. As for ease of use, if you find using the script confusing, setting up a really big and complex HUD probably should not be your first project, do something basic first (eg a mesh object with only one face).
  4. It looks to be this one https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/HKD-Studio-Neon-Pride-Box/14060750
  5. For prices, think along the lines of how much people would earn per hour in a decently paying real life job. You may find people who would be willing to do something for less because they are young and desperate for lindens, or because it sounds like a really fun project, but anyone who can produce decent work is going to charge realistic prices because they can. Work is work whether it's done for SL or the real world.
  6. Absolutely, it most definitely is not a case of just taking a screenshot. When I had one of my avatars photographed for an ad by a professional SL photographer, it took a whole lot longer than I expected it would. Getting the composition and lighting right is really important, and then there is the creative (and fun) side too - most of the very best photographs on Flickr have clearly had a lot of thought put into them as far as creative design is concerned. You don't take an amazing SL photograph by just standing an avatar in front of a green screen, grabbing a screenshot and doing a little editing in Photoshop.
  7. I believe they dropped promoting a major event due to the bad behaviour of the organiser. Events and sales don't have to pay for advertising, but they can choose to do so if they want extra coverage, for example being featured at the top of the page.
  8. Nobody is going to do custom work for 500 linden. That's $2.00.
  9. I honestly have no idea what colour this is, maybe grey? It's called Pure though, from the UniCult eye gacha at Lootbox.
  10. I don't know how much time you are spending on these images, but if it is a lot then I am sorry to say that there are free Photoshop actions that can produce these types of effects within a few seconds. So I don't know that there would be many people who would be willing to pay much for this type of work when there are SLers on Flickr doing custom work that involves not only decent photography but a lot of detailed digital painting. But even with all the over-painting, people still want the picture they are paying for to look like their avatar. I would say you would have a better chance of getting customers if you skip all the flashy effects and just take a decent picture, using the lighting from the LumiPro to its best advantage.
  11. Thread is old now and I am sure the original poster found what they are looking for, but I will put this here for future reference in case anyone is searching for the same thing. EPIA (Every Pixel is Art) has really high quality mesh police, SWAT and sheriff uniforms. They also have fire fighter's uniforms. These are all for male and female avatars. They have lots of military uniforms as well. They are in standard sizes, nothing for Maitreya / Belleza etc. I was able to alpha out things fine on my Maitreya body to get them to fit but I suppose if you have an unusual shape it may not work for you.
  12. The piggu avatars are fantastic, I cannot recommend them highly enough. They have to be worn as full avatars though, as other mesh heads will not fit with the bodies. It's a real shame there are no demos available. There is a Flickr group though that gives you an idea of how cool they can look https://www.flickr.com/groups/3735317@N23/
  13. EDIT - All sold One of these has sold. The remaining 2 parcels have been reduced to 3L a metre. https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Istar/178/123/23 https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Istar/143/105/23
  14. Oh well it's good you got the beard, I think that's the main thing that will give you that look. I have no idea where that hair is from, hopefully someone here does. It is no doubt a little old now. The good news is that if you can't find that exact hair there will be a lot of stores selling very similar styles to match the beard. I'm no expert on male hair but a few stores I can think of that do long styles are No Match, Tableau Vivant and Exile, there are more obviously and then you have all the women's hair that will fit men.
  15. Wrong forum, try the Inworld Employment section. Posting here will probably only annoy people.
  16. Well certainly I am sure that part has some truth to it but that would be particular types of revealing clothing, rather than the more everyday revealing clothing from the mall type stores that are so popular. As for sexual predators though, sure there might be some in SL, same as anywhere else, but nobody can force you to do anything or physically harm you in SL. If someone does something wrong or even makes you feel uneasy, there are tools you can use to avoid further interactions with them. And of course you can report them if their behaviour breaches the TOS.
  17. I have that head, it's awesome. If you can't fork out for a bento head or expensive skin applier for a mature look, Izzie's has affordable wrinkle appliers with a ton of options (also available as tattoos for system avatars).
  18. I mainly wear sci-fi / fantasy / post-apocalyptic clothing, depending on my mood. Sometimes I see stuff in those styles in stores and it is revealing, if I like it I will buy it anyway. I was wearing a more revealing outfit one day and a guy IMed me and hit on me. I told him I wasn't interested and he said "Well what are you doing dressed like that then?" I hadn't been overly concerned about him hitting on me, but that statement was very..... worrying.
  19. I don't think many people would be keen on that, there have been too many scams in SL. If you just want to have a Patreon because you are a struggling artist, and may occasionally release something that people may or may not be interested in, nah, SL people aren't going to go for that and of course Klytyna has already outlined a lot of issues for people trying to sell art in SL. If it's money you're after and you can't cash out or whatever I really don't understand why you would need Patreon when there are other ways for a talented person to earn money from SL residents that doesn't involve having a shop or selling on the marketplace. There have been creators in SL do amazing real life artwork for commissions through Paypal (painting someone's avatar, or their pets, promoting on Flickr where lots of SL residents are), and of course if you are skilled with mesh or even textures you can do custom work for real money.
  20. Great point, and I have heard accusations of designers taking models directly from Daz / Renderosity because of their use of renders to market products.
  21. That would be Indecency - Broadly offensive content or conduct. Provided of course that it is actually offensive.
  22. Oh yes, sorry, covenant is the wrong word. It is zoning guidelines, provided in a notecard. It says that the regulations will be enforced.
  23. It's great that groups of residents have banded together in some sims to do what the Labs aren't resourced to do. Boardman would be the shining example of that, and Iris is great and it doesn't even have a covenant. Small parts of Bay City look amazing and are probably as LL envisaged, the rest of it.... not so much. I imagine it was quite hard for the Boardman Preservation Society to acquire so much land there. The old Ingrid Ingersoll and Barnesworth Anubis builds are stunning and I really wish you could still get them (if anyone knows if some of them are still available anywhere, please let me know!). But despite the efforts of the society, some other land owners have put up ugly builds that do meet the covenant rules (as is their right, they probably think they look great), so I don't believe it's possible to have a truly themed sim on the mainland unless one individual or group owns all the land. And one point about Boardman is that it doesn't really have a "lived in" feel, so the preservation is only aesthetic. Despite some of the themed locations not quite working out as intended, I still think it would be great if LL took this kind of more planned approach for future sims. The suburbs are a free for all but still very appealing with their suburban streets. Sims without roads are pretty awful in my opinion, and it's beyond me why they have released so many dreadful wastelands.
  24. Isn't it just? Way too good to give up even with that guardrail issue, and such amazing work decorating and laying it all out, I am very impressed.
