  1. You've been lucky then. I've had plenty of issues with buggy behaviour with both Maitreya and Belleza, on multiple alts, which have required relogging to resolve.
  2. Certain sims have height detectors and will eject you if you don't meet the height requirement (it's often set to something that is actually not short at all, like 1.7 metres). Those are usually sims where adult activity is undertaken though. Other residents may be inclined to report a very short avatar for participating in adult activity so I would not outright dismiss this as a concern if she intends to use the avatar for that sort of thing in public spaces. Other than that, there should be no problems with LL.
  3. For hair, Truth has the Lady hair which is a lovely 1950s style. enVogue has a few great options (including a nice 1940s style), and Vanity Hair has 50s and 60s stuff. Eclectica has shoes and accessories from all different time periods. There's tons of great stuff out there but very few stores devoting themselves solely to clothes from specific eras. Vintage Fair is course well and truly over but here is the shopping guide from that event, most of the items should be in those creators' stores now. https://palegirlproductions.com/vintage-fair-2019-shopping-guide/
  4. I'm putting most of my work (and prims) into my garden at my Adams home. Here's my work on the back yard so far, I've gone for a cottage garden with the plants. I have a path running to a back shed, and a frog pond as well as the bird bath. I still need to fill in a few spots so I will be keeping an eye on this thread for ideas.
  5. That is lovely Peony. I particularly like the little owl keeping you company there! Where is the wagon from? I am a fan of small spaces, I find it really hard to decorate large homes.
  6. On the marketplace, search under Building and Object Components - Mesh Creator Tools - Clothing. You might be able to find a full permissions sweater that includes a texture map you can save to your hard drive and edit. I doubt you will find anything for 100L wherever you look but you may get something for a few hundred if you are lucky. Sizing is the biggest barrier if you are using a furry avatar.
  7. I grabbed a traditional home a couple of hours ago. On moving in, I suspect I can see why the previous occupant abandoned it. The neighbour across the road has hideous outdoor halloween decorations covering the entire house and filling the yard, we are talking animated, fog everywhere and full glow. Even some of the house walls have been covered with bright orange prims.
  8. I am wearing piggu's June avatar at the moment, I'm a big fan. Unfortunately I don't have many clothes for her, but I did make my own skin and eyes for her. The hair is Luna by Analog Dog.
  9. Siddean Munro has revealed in the Slink group that she will be releasing a number of bento heads very shortly (she shared some preview pics and they are gorgeous). These will of course be BoM compatible and I think what is great is that Slink uses the SL UV map so system skins and makeup layers will fit. As those of us who have tried system skins on certain mesh heads know, not all heads come close to fitting the SL UV despite starting from it, so wearing system skins can have some bizarre results or require extreme shape tweaking.
  10. Oooh, what house is that? It looks amazing. I love the Heterocea Atoll too.
  11. SOLD http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Horizons Sirius/27/188/24 1024m parcel, 24.4L/m, won't find cheaper. Live on it or flip it. Close to Supernova infohub.
  12. Exactly, thank you. Most of the land I own is on General rated sims, and after 13 years of renting and owning mainland (and being a grown up that whole time), my preference is to live in General rated areas. I am not a family role-player. I just find, from long experience, that G rated sims offer me a better living experience. And yes, people will treat you like a pariah when you bring that up.
  13. The link in this thread still works, I am pretty sure it is what I used, it has the full avatar with 3 materials
  14. I used to, been a while though. I had a 3d object of the whole avatar to paint on, with separate upper and lower textures of course. So I could just paint across seams. I don't know where I got that full avatar object but it will be obtainable somewhere.
  15. I've made one of my waterfront places that is near an infohub similarly welcoming, and it has bumper boats and bicycles that people can use to explore the surrounding area. I get most of my fun stuff from Culprit but I would love to know where to get more.
  16. Most of the time I completely forget that SL has a voice feature, I've had it turned off since voice was introduced. I make sure to turn it off in the parcel settings whenever I buy land, and that's as much thought as I give to it. Until I went to an event on my alt last weekend, and a group of people had a go at me for having voice turned off, apparently they were annoyed because it made it harder for them to harass me. Griefers these days, I tell ya.
  17. I'm not quite ready to get a Linden home yet so I don't know what options are available, but I prefer living on G rated sims. Are all the sims, er sorry regions, in Bellisseria mature rated? Thanks.
  18. Bakes on mesh allowed me to check out one of the skins from my old skin store, I think I made this in maybe 2009? I've put it on Lelutka Piper and it fits! Remember the days before tattoo layers, when you bought skins with makeup already on them, that's what this is. Anyway, my avatar really looks like me today because I wore this skin for ages, maybe in a paler tone though. I don't know if I have the PSD file for this skin, maybe on an old hard drive somewhere. Obviously the uploaded textures are only 512 pixels so the quality is poor. That's Magika Billie hair which is nice and natural looking.
  19. 13 years and 4 months. The number of friends who are older than me is decreasing, though I still have a few who have been around for 15.
  20. These sound like the sort of thing you were trying to make, they were quite popular back in the day when I was making skins. Whether they are any better than the results you got though, I have no idea. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Fake-Bake-Shaded-Avatar-TGAs-Tutorial/140146
  21. Not in the slightest. I sometimes feel like with the success of all the mall style clothing stores like Blueberry, and the drab offerings of the big events, I must be in a minority.
