  1. While this is almost always a MESH issue, it normally isn't the fault of the furniture but faulty HOUSE physics. There is the possibility that you will not be able to rez a prim inside the house -- so that makes it even more difficult. If you cannot rez a prim inside the house (sometimes you will get a prim but it will not be on the floor or even CLOSE to the floor) you can rez the prim on the ground outside (hopefully you HAVE ground outside) and then drag it in. You can also rez your furniture outside and then move it into the building. We don't see as much of this these days but you could be living in an older mesh building.
  2. I am pretty sure they renamed them today. My map always updates later than other people's (not everyone obviously) as there are often posts with "new stuff" that I can't see for a few hours.
  3. I went over to those houseboats and they are quite nice. That being said, they will NOT be the "Bellisseria Experience". If you are NEW, my suggestion would be to just come on over to Bellisseria and hang out with folks. There are lots of open community areas as well as citizen public places like pubs and bookstores and coffee shops etc. There is a citizen (not official) community events website somewhere (don't know where really but asking here will likely get you a link. Personally I think it would be better to discover what SL is all about before plunging. You can take part in lots of things on the new continent without having a home there === and right now you can't get a home anyway as they are all sold out. So take it slow and explore. Again, the houseboats here are quite nice IMO but not the same as living on a continent with a community (that can be a plus or a minus as we all know how "families" are. You could certainly rent one of the mainland houseboats and then hang out in Bellisseria. That works too.
  4. Looks fun. My experience with these rides leads me to believe this is either and all day tour or one that needs to be broken up in bits. It took me 2.5 hours to do about a quarter of this root. But maybe I am just sloooooow. I was on a BIKE not a scooter.

  6. Imma thinkin' that we could use a little more positive energy around here. To that end I am introducing a new fantasy thread. If you could switch to any plot on the existing continent where would it be? It can't be your own plot or your alts plot, but one that you are truly lusting after. Please include a photo of the area or a map shot or coordinates. Let's have some fun! I have visited each and every region on the current Bellisseria continent. This is by far my top pick. There are some others, but this has A. location, B. minimal neighbors, C Parklike adjoining areas D. adjoining road and E. Unobstructed ocean view. And it is also bordered by some slight hills so not entirely flat (a personal plus). EDIT: You don't need to already have a plot to participate.
  7. I can not confirm that the Linden Homes showing up on the map are the same set up as at the Home Expo. So watch the map and see if anything new and "housey" turns up next to them. Rules are Rules ---
  8. OK. My sim is actually up (or maybe just came back).
  9. LOL. Well I made it into the "C***** Payment Room" which is the only Favorite I have that isn't on the main channel :D.
  10. I got a "your clock is set incorrectly message" :D.
  11. Looks like the same area that was at the RFL Home Expo, but we can hope for more. There is an empty sim adjoining and THAT "could" have the new designs in it, making it a showcase for ALL the homes available (or soon to be).

  13. You do understand (well maybe not) that you will NOT know the age or even the gender of most people in SL. They can be "whoever" they want. Unless you are going to video Skype (or another platform) you won't know :D. So just be aware. This because of your OP title
  14. While 30 IS high for trees, the trees have extremely long LODs made for the Linden viewer default which is much lower than Firestorm's default. That is part of it. Those 1 LI trees (assuming they are mesh trees :D) typically have horrid LODs and are only viable for folks that run with LOD4 on (which really taxes your computer). So there was a purpose there. Happily I haven't seen too many of those low land impact LOD 4 trees around -- mostly I guess because some areas have a lot of trees already. THAT being said and especially since I don't make trees all that much, the houses are also very "primmy", partly for the same reasons -- but as noted on a thread or two when they houses were first unveiled, there really is no reason why the houses need to be that high of land impact. That LI doesn't really matter to the citizens as it doesn't count against their land usage, but still a bit of a puzzle as to the "why".
  15. I am not your gal. Have NO CLUE how to get rigged clothing into SL. Sorry.
  16. They were taken down some time ago (Two weeks?) At least they were inaccessible when I tried last.
  17. Ahh. I thought you had already TRIED flipping the faces and it didn't work. No great tips. I am not a great clothes maker. Just enjoy and have fun. For SL you have to RIG the garment to the skeleton which is a HUGE job. If you are just practicing you might want to go to Sansar and use the auto uploader. A few different steps on exporting but that info should be in the knowledge base. When you get some clothes that are starting to look good, then you can research the rigging part. Again VERY complex. I guess I though you already knew about that, hence my screenshot from Blender :D. Good luck.
  18. After 125 posts the answer is the same. LL knows the "show homes" are there and if they want them removed or changed, they will let the people in question know. Same with cafes, book stores, pubs, clubs and whatever else might be out there. Since many non-residential plots have been in place for a month, it seems like they are OK with The Powers That Be. Everyone can have their own take on whether they are "right" or "wrong" but in the end LL is the only one that will make those decisions. Since we have been asking repeatedly for clarification on clubs, tip jars and now "show homes" and since we have not received any word, it seems like they are OK so far as rules and covenant go.
  19. Typically the transparent face is because the face itself is reversed. I have never seen that in MD but apparently it has happened to you. Since you already tried flipping within MD then likely the only thing to do would be to flip the face using "flip direction" or something similar in your 3D software. Actually if I remember correctly -- in Sansar anyway -- MD makes all the faces double sided (hence my not seeing the problem) so likely there IS a way to fix this in MD but I have no clue. That seems to be your issue. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Maybe asking on the MD board?
  20. @Fritigern Gothly For some reason I can't quote YOUR post above but I can quote others - oh well. THANKS for trying. I know it is difficult sometimes. I am trying to take more notes and make more blog posts so I can remember who, what, when and where. Since that time you mention was before Patch made the "first of the year comment" I am going to keep that one as the official statement. It doesn't seem now like that will be a viable date, but if they can get out 700 per month, maybe it can be. Always nice to make your goals. That would be around 8,000 homes. And sometimes (more than one would think) info that we DID see --- disappears for whatever reason. Still, taking screenshots of everything is a bit over the top I think LOL.
  21. Note that even if you get an omega applier that works with both Catwa and Slink you need to TEST THE DEMO carefully as not all Omega appliers are created equal. Many times the neck seem is different even though it "should" be super smooth and completely matching. Not all skin creators have the same skill. So look especially at the neck area in VARIOUS Windlight settings. When you find one that is perfect, pounce on it.
  22. That seems likely now. Can you site your source on this. Last official thing I heard was from Patch's talk at the Home and Garden Expo and that was "around the beginning of the year" which would be a year earlier. Two years at the rate things are going seems more likely, just like to be able to quote the source on my blog. Thanks.
  23. I actually went to both the same day. Note that I found the landmark in my teleport history. Likely they were on the same tour? As I definitely remember the "A****" part of the sign and don't see how that is applicable to the other house. I liked the A house better but yes, very crowded at both. Can we let this go now? I am certainly going to.
