  1. And his girlfriend is down here. I still have that one saved; just in case I need to scare somebody off. Notice her cute amazing lips colour!
  2. Once I went to explore a place. After a while in my minimap I saw green dot approaching from distance towards me. As I wasn't in any mood for chat at that time I TPed away. Very soon I got am IM: "Coby! Running away was a very rude thing to do! I just wanted to chat for a while." Well, not wanting to appear as being rude, I said (lied actually) "Sorry, I didn't see you coming. I can come back for a while if you want." Well, he wanted and sent me TP. We chatted there for a while, and when he was satisfied I went away. Anyway, I never get freaked out from any green or blue dot approaching me. It's just that I might get off if in no mood for company.
  3. Today (8 September 2017) I was exploring amazingly beautiful re-opened historical place. Nothing has been changed when it was re-opened by Linden Lab. It's in the state it was when it closed in 2011. Pretty cool to visit there now to refresh old good memories. *The Lost Gardens of Apollo* *Historic Build* http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Lost Gardens of Apollo/76/204/25
  4. SL is getting very complicated for any newcomers due to all the multiple mesh bodies and mesh heads. Add to that the need to buy separately skin for the body and then matching skin also for the head. It's really time to upgrade system avatar mesh. Few years after that upgrade this present mess would be history and bad memory. Personally I have nothing against mesh bodies and mesh heads. Anyway, the system avatar mesh could be upgraded to be as beautiful as any present mesh body. It seems that there is no intention nor paln to do so in any foreseeable future. I wonder why not? Instead LL are busy inventing new things to support even more the mesh bodies (texture baking for mesh bodies). Things would be so much easier if the system avatar had excellent mesh.
  5. I don't understand either why thigns are made no mod. There are plenty of beautiful things in SL, the problem is that they might have no materials. If the object was modifiable I could ad some shine for example to jewelry items. Then they would be even more beautiful. The designer lost absolutyle nothing for me adding the shine. On the contrary, the designer would have won as I very well might go and buy more things from that designer who sets their designs modifiable. No mod, umm.. I would not be very interested to buy more things. So, with no mod the designer actually loses business. Do you hear designers? Mofiable, thank you!
  6. I think some people don't understand that when they use non bento animations in their AO, they have to wear at least a separate AO for the bento hands. Only then everybody will see their bento hands correctly without spreaded fingers.
  7. I was wondering why I sometimes bump into some invisible obstacles while shopping. Oh yeah, now I know, they are the invisible avatar shoppers. As I often have the nametags disabled I have no idea that somebody is standing on my path. Bump, bump, bump...
  8. Thanks, now I know what this thread was for.
  9. Without being able to see the original starting post in its original fullness, this thread makes no sense for late comers. /me goes reading other threads... (psst... the first replier should always quote the starting post completely. Thanks. )
  10. Great news , but... Nothing new planned to the default system avatar? • Like new detailed mesh with realistic human proportions. • • bento bones available for the default system avatar too. • • materials available too. • • nice basic animation set. • • nice facial expression animations. The default "top of the tree" camera location needs to be fixed finally too. Then the near 2.5 meter tall avatars will shockingly realise that they indeed are absurdly tall.
  11. I agree, they should have upgraded the SL system shape mesh to be something good and professionally made. But no, ease of use was sacrificed to commercial altar. And thus now we have this very complicated mess in our hands. Lots of different mesh bodies and mesh heads, each requiring clothes specifically designed for each body type. It is a big chaos really. It is interesting to note that in Sansar the default avatar meshes (male and female) are very detailed and well made. No need to design mesh bodies for the purpose of hiding ugly default body like in Second Life. So designers can concentrate in making awesome other stuff instead of the mesh bodies and heads. That is good and that is how it should have been in SL too.
  12. Personally I really don't understand why lots of people want to "decorate" their display names with Unicode chracters. Lots of Unicode chracters are not even supported by Second Life and third party viewers. When a Unicode chracter is not supported by the viewer then the character is replaced by that rectangle we see in the picture above. Besides, even if the character is supported by the viewer, most of the times the "exotic, cool" characters make the name very hard to read. So, it's not cool after all. It's just a mess and looks ugly. So, stop it please. Thank you very much.
  13. • They did get avatars right in Sansar. There is beauty hidden under the present horrible skin, ugly hairs and lack of animations. The default avatar meshes, both female and male, are very detailed and really well made. The face itself has 135 bones for facial animations. What is still needed is: UV-map, skeleton and animation system available for designers. Plus advanced shape adjustment for users. Then the beauty of the Sansar avatars will start to unfold. They will look as beautiful as Second Life mesh avatars. There is no need to create multitude of incompatible imported mesh bodies and mesh heads like in Second Life, which is a kind of chaos, very difficult, complicated and expensive thing for users. • They got the scale thing right too. Everything in Sansar will be built to real life scale to avoid Second Life's scaling chaos. Default avatar heights are: female 1.65 meters (5 ft 5 in), male 1.78 meters (5 ft 10 in). Naturally there will be possibility to adjust avatar heights. However, as everything is built to real life scale, very tall avatars would look strange, out of place. So very likely we will not see the Second Life scaling chaos in Sansar. Anyway, in my opinion Sansar was opened too soon for public access. It should have been more mature. It's still like a bitter raw fruit. Many people are disappointed how it is now. First impressions tend to stick.
  14. Looking pretty nice. But I wonder why they are "no mod"? Hmm... Everything should be modifiable and be separate items. We don't want to look like clones of each other, the real fun is in individualizing our looks. Even newbies, whom those avatars are meant for, surely like to tweak their avatars. Hopefully Linden Lab understands that need in the next batch of new starter avatars. "No mod" feature should be removed from SL altogether. In real life everything is modifiable. Then, why should no mod exist in SL? Who would suffer if everything was modifiable, I wonder?
  15. Indent No indent Indent No indent Indent ... let's see if this works.
  16. There is "Ambient Dark" Windlight. If there are no light sources nearby the scene is completely pitch black, you cannot see anything.
  17. In some seats the sinking happens if your AO is on. When you sit down on a scripted seat, turn your AO off and see what happens then. For me that always fixes the sinking issue. Some AO sit animations might cause that the seat animation doesn't play properly and you sink.
  18. For my eyes, well made flexi hair still looks the most natural looking hair what one can get in Second Life. Nothing laughable in it. For short hairs mesh can look excellent, but longer hairs need smooth flowing movement which mesh cannot provide.
  19. LOL. Cannot edit post so that all contents are deleted. At least one letter (or dot) must be left there. Hum...
  20. I tried to delete my post just after few minutes since posting and I couldn't find any way to do it. Is the delete thing hidden somewhere, or not available at all?
  21. When one goes to a crowded club there are a lot of nude avatars in sight. All mesh clothes dancing in the air for many minutes before the rigging snaps them to their intended places. Some people have made their "secret" parts invisible or wear painted on underwear, some have not done either one. The poorer one's connection or computer is the longer one will have that scene to stare at. Naturally nobody gets banned due to that, because most people know (or should know) how mesh acts in crowded places. Anyway, I don't get disturbed by the sight, they are just avatars, not real people. (But I have met people who get very "hot" by the sight nude female avies.) Oh, by the way, we need more emoticons to express ourselves in these forums.
  22. Hmm.. now I cannot delete that test post. Not even this one.
