  1. Linden Lab wants us to wear our mouses with one more extra click when we want to go to the forums.

After the one year period you'll either pay Micro$$$oft for Windows 10, or it will be deactivated. The estimated cost will be $299.99 per computer. Only individuals who build with OEM-builders copies of Windows get a true free upgrade to WIndows 10 (Micro$$$oft'$ great white hope ) Meanwhile, Windows 11 will be released sometime in 2016 codenamed: bumleg, which is still in development. Rumors abound about Windows 11, one being it will be the first true 128 bit operating system, so if it is true you can kiss ALL your current hardware goodbye. Changes are coming my friends...as you can see already :matte-motes-nerdy: :matte-motes-yawn: :matte-motes-asleep:
  3. Yes. I mentioned about that "dropped into the blogs" in this BUG report, created on April 4, 2015: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-8953 Maybe they aren't going to do anything about that one? The random signed out thing seems mostly been fixed though (in my experience).

Individuals who bought a name brand pc with windows 7, 8, or 8.1 "pre-installed" will have the opportunity to **try** Windows 10 for one year via download and after that Micro$$$oft will require you to *buy* it. Sorry to say, but what you wrote above is total rubbish (except for the release date). :matte-motes-frown:

CheriColette wrote: haha ...was this pun intentional (it sounds like great freeby btw) The pun, if there was any, was totally accidental. :smileyhappy: It's been very revealing experience to wear that thing. I have learned that I need to be much more active than what I have used to be - to keep that thing happy. Stand up for a while every 55 minutes, walk many kilometers per day, or run, or stand a lot instead of sitting, or, or, or... etc.. :smileysurprised: :smileyvery-happy:
  6. Natural human shape, quality skin, quality hair, quality clothes, good AO. The AO (animation overrider) is very important too for the overall image what an avatar gives to observers. Even if everything else was great and the AO was bad, filled with silly animations, then the overall image of the avatar would not be great.
  7. Darn! I should have said ILED instead of LED! :smileyvery-happy: :smileywink: (I'm well aware of the difference between LED and OLED. My point was that there are no LED [iLED :smileywink:] TVs for home use available. At least I haven't seen any.) I read somewhere that OLEDs still suffer from picture burn in, similar effect as in plasma and cathode ray tube displays.

Teri ((I don't use the Firestorm viewer but would they halp me with punctuation and stuff?)) Unfortunately not. You're out of luck there concerning help for punctuation and stuff. It's just a Firestorm Support group, giving support in English. There is also other Firestorm Support group, giving support in Spanish. No punctuation help available in either one. :matte-motes-asleep:
  9. bebejee wrote: Nice, thanks for all replies, sticking to monitor/laptop for now, might go for a LED TV though later. All the so called "LED TVs" sold and advertised today actually are LED back lighted LCD TVs. Even though the manufactures and ads talk about LED TVs, there are no true LED TVs available for home use. I wonder what will true LED TVs (with no LCDs) be called if such come available some day? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LED-backlit_LCD_display Sony's true LED prototype TV: http://www.cnet.com/news/sony-crams-6-million-leds-into-prototype-crystal-display/

They cause lag, lag, lag... :smileyfrustrated: :matte-motes-frown: New way to create more efficient and better looking content is MESH. In the other thread you have already been given a link to an excellent source how to create mesh. Study those videos. Don't ignore them. The learning process is like this: Don't try to start from the top! Happy rewarding learning. :matte-motes-big-grin: :matte-motes-asleep:
  11. Recently I won a "Polar Loop" activity bracelet. Almost every day it's telling me that I'm sitting too much. Then it suggests that to reach the activity goal I should jog for some 53 minutes. Or as an alternative walk for 2 hours 16 minutes. :smileymad: :smileytongue: About my last night's sleep it reported: • 8 hours 16 minutes slept last night • 6 hours 12 minutes restful sleep :matte-motes-asleep: • 2 hours 2 minutes restless sleep :matte-motes-sick: :matte-motes-dont-cry: :matte-motes-yawn: Then if I'm sitting down for 55 minutes, it nags me "get some activity". Was it worth to win it? Sure, cost me nothing. :matte-motes-big-grin: Maybe it will convince me to be physically more active. Time will tell.
  12. Ivanova Shostakovich wrote: While free now for many users, going forward, Windows will lose the number moniker and will be called simply "Windows". It will also very likely turn into a subscription service. Rafe Needleman [Editorial Director, Yahoo] says: I had a chance to sit down with Aaron Woodman [senior director of product marketing at Microsoft] to get the skinny on the “Free Windows 10” offer. Woodman clarified for me that if you upgrade your PC to Windows 10 with the free offer, you won’t be socked with a payment demand after some arbitrary period. Windows 10 isn’t “freemium.” It won’t convert from a free upgrade to a paid or subscription-supported operating system. He told me, clearly, “Once you’re on Windows 10, you’re on Windows 10, and there will be no additional charge.” Whole story: https://www.yahoo.com/tech/microsoft-clarifies-who-gets-free-windows-10-114730456889.html

  15. I have noticed that rigged mesh bodies and other rigged mesh wearables behave like that. Sometimes you can click on a rigged item, sometimes you cannot click on the exact same item. Weird, I have no idea what's going on.

  18. It looks like that the antialiasing is not on, or is not working. First check is it on in "Preferences, Graphics, Hardware Settings". If not, turn it on (2x should be enough). Click "Apply" and "Ok". One thing to notice: • You have "Advanced Lighting Model" on, antialiasing is on, and antialiasing is working • Now you turn off "Advanced Lighting Model", antialiasing stops working (even though it is still on) • You turn again "Advanced Lighting Model" on, antialiasing works again Antialiasing will work also with "Advanced Lighting Model" turned off. • Turn "Advanced Lighting Model" off • Turn antialiasing on (if it's off) • Relog. Antialiasing will work now with "Advanced Lighting Model" off But be aware: if you turn "Advanced Lighting Model" on and then again off, antialiasing will not work until you relog. This is how it works on my installation of Firestrom.
  19. Is it so that your version 2.0 works also with no-mod vehicles? I assume so as it has a HUD; no need to add script onto the vehicle like in the case with version 1.1, is this correct?.

  21. Better radically improved avatar. In the same process annihilate all wearable mesh body add-ons. Thanks. :matte-motes-big-grin: PS. Ah, never mind... the radically improved avatar will be in the Next Generation Platform. :smileywink: :matte-motes-asleep:
