This is something like one of the ones we were looking at but a newer one..

Those slots open and close as it needs more air or not,I guess..

Now that is COOL. Thanks for sharing!

Assuming that the computer is very loud to start with, so that any dust will be removed with a good 5 seconds of fan high power? is that the case? :P

OK, I'll bite.... here's the old home rig. It's and old Gateway 2000 case with it's Pentium II sticker still on the case. Inside it's an i7 4790, 12GB RAM and an Nvidia GTX 660. I use a 120GB SSD for my system and a 2TB HDD for data. Works for me :) O/S is Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. That's Cubase Pro 9 on the main monitor and SL on the secondary monitor.

This is an electric sit/stand desk. The top is a kitchen counter top from Ikea. The monitors are 27 inch curved. This photo is from my last apartment. Forgive the showing cords =/ I still need to remount my monitors in this new place.

Eh, I wasn't going to show this photo because it's quite a downgrade from the last apartment's setup. You can see what a difference mounting the monitors makes though. We bought this grey rug for the bedroom but it was too small, so we threw it in my office. Thanks to this thread though, I'm going to work on updating my setup.

When I can figure out how to play Sl on a gameboy I'll post a picture of my setup...My current one is literally covered with textbooks, curriculum supply lists, and a hodge podge of other junk(and probably cat hair, cuz...3 cats)

I do have a picture of one of my cats as a kitten on an old computer, among other computers, that my kids have piece parted out to use with their curriculum, does that count?

(silly people, of course it counts, I'm sharing anyway :P )

We are redoing the office this fall / winter and have already decided that we will have sit/stand desks.  We are having trouble deciding on the exact model though.  My husband and I both need workstations as we both have to be able to work at the same time via the wired connections.  Also, trying to find the best functionality that fits well in the room at a reasonable cost is an interesting feat in itself.

I would recommend a Mac, just because I'm absolutely in love with them :D

I made the switch in 2009, and haven't looked back since. I used to have so many computer issues when I used to run a Windows machines. Have you been to your local Ikea? I picked up my desk and chair from there and I love it.

Now we get to hear about how Mac owners are all sheep.

( I have owned nothing but Mac since the first Mac plus .)

No way are we switching to MAC computers.  We are too entwined in our Windows ones and I have no desire to learn a new OS.  Not to mention that my primary computer got hosed yesterday and so we just bought me a new computer.

We haven't checked IKEA for the desks yet - have so far only been browsing styles and companies online.

Wow you all have such clean, neat, dust free PC's....Where I live in Australia we get really dusty summers and lets just say I got lazy and cleaned my PC out for the first time in maybe 5 years.....Tempted to post pics but it's rather embarrassing with how dusty it was. :)

It is really dry here in Colorado, USA, and I do not dust the office or computer near as much as I should.  B|
