For this week's Music Made in Second Life video, we featured Spiralo.
Spiralo
“Spiralo” is a virtual cultural complex produced by the noise-classical music project 'Tia Rungray'. The space will include a sound installation hall, a gallery, a café, and a shopping floor. The name "Spiralo" means "spiral" in Esperanto, and the name comes from the fact that the floors are arranged in a spiral pattern, inspired by the image of everyday life and art blending together in virtual life. The idea is to make it easier to enjoy high-quality art activities in Second Life and to make visitors more aware of their close relationship to life. It functions to make everyday activities such as watching, listening, dressing, talking and photography more artistic. It offers you a way to enjoy the time and space in which you can relax in everyday life. As a cultural hub for contemporary art in Second Life, “Spiralo” hopes to continue to create a cultural scene.

On December 22nd I announced that the Second Life Destination Guide was being uplifted to the cloud. That process is still underway, however, we have run into some errors. For this reason, the web publishing tool that allows us to update the Destination Guide is still unavailable and will be for the foreseeable future until these errors can be corrected. I am hoping it won’t be much longer than another week or two. I will continue to update you on this status every Friday.
The submission form for the Destination Guide is also giving errors because of this, so please continue to email your submissions to editor@lindenlab.com and we will add them as soon as we have access again.
In the meantime, you can still find many destinations to explore on the Destination Guide, as well as events to attend on our Events page.
One very exciting event occurring this weekend is at the ACS region. The American Cancer Society is celebrating an important milestone - $4 million USD raised in Second Life to help fight cancer! One of my most favorite part of my job description is updating the Second Life Destination Guide. I discover beautiful new locations to explore, all created by you, the Residents! We know how beloved it is to our Residents as well, that’s why we wanted you to be aware of a temporary freeze on new additions to the Destination Guide over the next few days and possibly until early in January.
Why? As part of our overall migration to the cloud, some of our web publishing tools (including what we use internally to update the Destination Guide) may be unavailable for our internal editorial team.
The good news is that the web version of the Destination Guide will still be accessible to everyone, and so will the Destinations floater that you can find on the toolbar in your Second Life viewer.

We just won’t be able to add, update, or delete any entries during the uplift process. If you want to submit or update an entry, please email the information to editor@lindenlab.com and we will get that done as soon as we have access to the tool again.
We apologize for the inconvenience. In the meantime, discover the beauty of the season by exploring the winter category, which now showcases over 100 snowy destinations to explore!
