Automatically unlisted items - what's going on?
Whirly Fizzle replied to Elvina Ewing's topic in Merchants
The dirty word is Eames This is kinda getting beyond a joke Edit to add: Eames appears to be a registered brand, so that's my guess as to why it was flagged. -
Modify permissions changed when sending items in a box.

Out of interest, what region were you doing your testing on? Is it possible a region restart or roll to a different server version fixed it? -

Deploy Plans for the week of 2019-10-14
Whirly Fizzle replied to Caleb Linden's topic in Second Life Server
You're presuming that all those RC sandboxes will be running the correct server version. This has not always been the case in the past. -
Appearance has only body titles no pictures
Whirly Fizzle replied to Mistique Starbrook's topic in General Discussion Forum
Preferences -> Move & View -> View -> tick "Show visual hints" to enable the preview images. -
Open the group profile -> Members & roles -> Roles Select the Role you want to "hide" members of & untick "Reveal Members". Note that this will only hide the group members for those not in your group. All group members will be able to see the full member list, as long as the group has less then 5k members. If the group has more then 5k members then only group mods can load the member list for performance reasons.

Deploy Plans for the week of 2019-10-14
Whirly Fizzle replied to Caleb Linden's topic in Second Life Server
@Caleb Linden Is it an oversight that you stopped putting the RC channel names on the deploy threads since last week or is this a deliberate change done to make our lives harder again? -
problem with bento hand freezing on some sims
Whirly Fizzle replied to Bana Karu's topic in Second Life Server
This is the server version that reintroduces the code that can cause the problem with certain scripts explained here: https://community.secondlife.com/blogs/entry/2683-parentchild-object-script-communications/ If that is the case then as far as I'm aware, it's up to the creators of the affected products to fix their scripts. @Caleb Linden @Mazidox Linden @Bugsly Linden -
It sounds like this bug: BUG-227042 - When exiting the LL SL viewer graphics are borked This bug is fixed on Firestorm & should also be fixed on the LL viewer, but the LL viewer fix hasn't been out that long. Make sure you are on the latest version of the LL viewer: Downloads | Second Life Does that fix it?

I filed a bug report: BUG-227759 - All textures animate when camera is in a certain position on a particular region
-
I can reproduce this, but you have to have your camera in a very specific spot. So far I can only reproduce when basic shaders are disabled. Can you go to Me -> Preferences -> Graphics -> Advanced Settings & tell me whether you can only reproduce this when Basic Shaders is unticked? Cool bug though. This is what I see: https://gyazo.com/59e74b0163d88ffeb115254479987817

Why does Second Life run so badly on a good computer?
Whirly Fizzle replied to xlime4's question in Technical
@xlime4 I don't like the look of that image at all. Can you just confirm that you are seeing that Glide Student advert where the Firestorm login screen should be? If the login screen is being replaced by an advert like that then you have some kind of malware/browser hijacker on your system. Obviously malware can cause poor performance too.- 36 replies

Problem with editing in Firestorm
Whirly Fizzle replied to Selador Cellardoor's topic in General Second Life Tech Discussion
If you don't have the Advanced menu showing in the top menu bar of the viewer, enable it with CTRL+ALT+D. Advanced -> Highlighting & visibility -> Hide selected -> Untick it. -
This can happen if you untick Basic Shaders in graphics preferences.

Anyone know how to set up media on Ubuntu 18.04?
Whirly Fizzle replied to Velk Kerang's question in Technical
Have yopu already worked through this wiki page? https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/fs_media If this doesn't help, please can you give a media URL that's failing to play for you on Linux. Thanks! -
Nope, this is absolutely a bug, nothing you did lol.

Yes this is a new bug that came to light on the new Firestorm BOM release. Thanks for testing on the LL viewer. Oddly one of the FS team reported they could also reproduce it on the LL viewer, I didn't test it on the LL viewer yet. Firestorm bug report: FIRE-29038 - In high-resolution snapshots, the image appears broken up in segments LL bug report (needs verifying if the bug also affects the LL viewer though): BUG-227731 - In high-resolution snapshots, the image appears broken up in segments (tiling in snapshots)

You already tested on another region & you have the same problem, so this isn't a region issue. Disconnect within a couple of minutes after login can be caused by a large flat inventory structure. To rule this out, test if you have the same problem with an alt account. If only one account is affected it's likely your inventory needs deflattened or it's corrupted in some way. LL support can easily fix your inventory: https://lindenlab.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000131009-contact-support If you have the same issue with alt accounts then it's very likely to be a connection issue. Fully power off your router/cable modem for a couple of minutes (unplug it) & reboot your computer - often this is all that's needed to fix transient connection issues. If still no luck, if possible try switching to a wireless connection. If everything is fine on wireless then check your connection cable isn't loose. You may need to replace the cable if it's faulty. I very much doubt it's a viewer issue but just to be sure, see if you have the same problem on the LL viewer: Downloads | Second Life
