  1. So, i usually take snapshots and they end up just fine but after last update there's this glitch that make some of the shadows have very ugly harsh lines. Info that might help: The shadows are perfect while ingame, the lines only appear on the saved snapshots. It happens when i'm with advanced lighting model on. I never had this problem before. I use Firestorm Viewer and NVIDIA Graphics Card. The lines are more noticeable in high contrast of lights and shadows, so i presume it has something to do with it, but i don't know. Heeelp.

Hey, I'm not precisely sure where to put this as it's my first time posting here, but I help run a combat sim in the Second Life Military Community and lately we've been having an issue that's causing me to tear my hair out in frustration. So, to give a little background, most sims rely on passive interaction when it comes to scripts and whatnot, with RP sims, adult activity sims and such usually being functional even under comparatively heavy script lag (anywhere between 50-60% script run). Not so with combat sims, where that amount of lag causes a significantly reduced experience. Recently we've run into a problem where script run in statistics is consistently very high (around 94% on average over one minute), yet we are experiencing significant delays or simple script failures (without anything throwing an error) that we haven't had issues with previously. It's causing a LOT of scripts and devices that we rely on to not function properly. Vehicles aren't rezzing in the proper manner, contact-fuse grenades or instant trigger explosives are bouncing and hanging upon striking a solid surface or are significantly delayed in the case of manually triggered explosives rather than detonating immediately as they should, bullets are going a significant distance through walls or bouncing off solid surfaces instead of dying nearly immediately. In a competitive scenario, you can probably imagine my frustration, especially since our content creators try and stay as script-efficient as possible. We'd like to continue to provide a quality combat experience in a sim that runs well, but we simply can't do it like this. We have tried narrowing down the problem to no avail. Restarting, cleaning the sim up, checking for griefing objects through either debug panels or process of elimination has not helped. We have even contacted the chungs to request a datacenter move, which they have stated was completed as of earlier today. Nothing changed, and script run in statistics STILL reports around a 94% average over a minute with nothing much going on, which is pretty good with all the group infrastructure devices we use. Now, all this being said, something that I HAVE noticed is that other sims in the same community have not been suffering like ours has, everything still works fine in a couple others, and something I noticed was this: [22:18] Second Life: Teleport completed from NOT OUR SIM (212,149,121) [22:18] Second Life: The region you have entered is running a different simulator version. As you can see, the sims that are working share the same server version. To this end, I'm THINKING that it's perhaps a bad server update? So, in conclusion, my questions are: Does anyone have any idea what else we can try? Has anyone else noticed this issue? If anyone can get back to me on this, I appreciate it in advance.
  3. WHAT in the HECK are these eye bugs? On the left, this is what it looks like if you get around to the side of it, which is a little tricky. On the right, this is what you see from the front— it blocks part of the eyebrow and the transparencies move with the eye, I think. This is driving me crazy, and I know I'm not the only one experiencing this. I have tried everything, like removing all layers and getting new copies of the Catwa Bento head, basically starting from scratch. The glitch doesn't seem to crop up until doing something with the eyes. I don't know if it's when I remove Catwa's eyelashes or what. It's just maddening! Have you seen this?? Help!
  4. Hello, I've been having problems more recently with pelvis rotations within blender & using avastar. I have made roughly over 500 animations in the past using the same program/plugin versions and I have never seen this happen before. What happens is when the pelvis is rotated with curves; the entire body of the avatar jolts once it is in SL, otherwise it looks perfectly fine in Blender. I always export and upload in .anim format. The animation is running at 30fps (iv'e tried slower) and iv'e also tried exporting it with other settings, like; use translations.Also I had the avatar enabled with IK's set to 1.0. I even tried moving the avatar in certain positions from the origin, with still no luck. Has anyone at all got any idea why this is happening? I'm surprised no one else has reported this that I have not seen. Any input is deeply appreciated. This issue is basically showstopping my work.   5. Hello all. I had a concern about creating mesh hair... I've actually been making hair for a long time in SL (since 2007), but the hair I've made before was either with sculpties or mesh but in anime/toon style with no alpha (Think of Sims 4 hair). So I've never before really had to deal much with alpha-textured hair... but now that I'm trying to get into making mesh hair with realistic alpha that can work for the realistic mesh faces to give the soft/wispy hair look... I'm having issues and would like some advice from anyone who makes hair or otherwise deals with alpha bugs on mesh. I have attached two photos at the bottom, one where the problem is clearly visible, and the other where the problem does not exist... and the problem has to do with the lighting in-world. There is a glitch that if you use the advanced lighting model and stand near certain kinds of lighting like spot lighting, the alpha ends of the hair will mismatch the rest of the hair by being more dimly-lit than the non-alpha or alpha-masked parts of the hair… The difference becomes more and more pronouonced as the "Ambiance" of the lighting goes up (this photo shows it under a spotlight with Ambiance of 1.0). The only fix I could find was to either not stand near spot lights… disable local lights/advanced lighting model temporarily… or make a copy of the hair and using “edit linked objects” or “select texture”, select the alpha part of the hair, and switch the texture’s alpha mode to “Alpha Mask” with a “Mask cutoff” of 125. But, I am trying to figure out if there's a way around this, because it's honestly kind of unreasonable to expect customers to just avoid areas and not complain or feel ripped-off (even though the hair is a group gift, but I want to learn for future hair I will want to make/sell, and update a fix for this one). And while setting the alpha mode to "Alpha Mask" does solve it, it makes the hair look too sharp like it's wet, which I am trying to avoid. >.< And while other hairs I have worn by other creators which has plenty of alpha (such as Dura or really any hair store!) also have some degree of glitching in spotlights, it's not as bad or obvious as with my hair. Unfortunately, I don't have hair creator friends to ask for advice, so I'm posting here. If there's any tips for how you make hair with alpha, that manages to: A: not suffer from the alpha bug where the strands bleed through each other, and... B: not suffer so obviously from the spot lighting in SL. I'd be very grateful.   6. Hello! I hope I am putting this in the right category. I have managed the same region for quite some time now (about 3 years) and I have not had this problem until very recently. I created a day cycle and attempted to assign it to the Region/Estate level. It looks correct in the preview when selected in the drop down menu. Once I click "Apply," I see the settings have changed, but it seems the haze or fog or distance multipliers are completely gone. So while the lighting is right, the depth is not there. It was the same case when I applied just one of my custom skies to the "Fixed Sky" portion. Looks correct in the preview once selected in drop down menu. Click "Apply," and the fogginess is gone. I thought maybe it wasn't taking well to my custom skies so I tried it with one of the defaults found in every SL viewer. I tried Blizzard and Foggy. Same deal. I even tried to do this in the most updated SL viewer. The problem still persists. I've been trying to look around if this issue has been reported or talked about recently, but maybe it's something on my end alone? What am I doing wrong? Thanks folks!

Bon nom, bon mot de passe, tentative de connexion, au moment où est affiché "waiting for region handshake", ça bug et ça me marque qu'il n'arrive pas à me connecter. J'ai essayé plusieurs viewers, un autre avatar, j'ai supprimé et remis phoenix, j'ai cru que c'était mon pc (modification de mail, j'ai rechangé), vérifié le pare-feu ... Rien n'y fait ... Je précise que ma connexion internet est opérationnelle bien sûr. Je perds patience, je ne comprends pas ce qui ne va pas. Je paye le compte premium et je ne peux y aller ... Please help me avant que je ne m'arrache les cheveux lol
  8. Hey! I'm Puppy and I recently got a new parcel of land, and I noticed that in the sky sometimes there's a decent amount of black spots. It's kind of annoying since I had a really nice view but now it looks kind of dirty. Any reason this is happening?

    Move bug

    Hello, I have bug about moves : I can't run. I can't jump more than some inch up and when I fall it's very very slowly. It started after I visited a sim, used teleporter in and when I landed, avatar was moving by it's own like if I hit up key without stop. I tp to another place and this forced move didn't happen out to this specific teleporter in this sim. But now I stuck about running, jumping and falling. I'm using firestorm viewer. I tp a lot of time, tried to force mode "always run". I reset settings, back up, delete firestorm viewer, clean and reinstall. But I'm still stuck to move. It's like forced move is still on, in a way, and blocking others. Can somebody help please?
  10. I have a problem with the Kemono avatar by Utilizator. There's a random invisible portion between my shoulders and arms. I'd include a photo but I've never posted before and don't quite understand the content rules yet.
  11. I don't really know where to put this or what to even say about it.. I was going through my inventory rezzing stuff to see what they were when I found this old arcade cabinet nyan cat game... and for some reason the texture was rotating on its own! There were scripts in the object, but this was... unlike anything I've ever seen in SL. The texture only moves when something onscreen changes. So I cam around, texture moves, stop camming, texture stops. I grab in edit mode, texture is still, move around/rotate/resize, texture moves! It wasn't local to me, either, since my friend was present with me when it happened and we wound up confused and scratching our heads the whole time.   12. Observed on Firestorm Viewer. Using my favorite fantasy outfit for the first time since switching on Advaned Lighting model, I noticed a strage behaviour for the skirt part. Apparently skirts now have the effect, invis-prims used to have. Can this be fixed? Note: The alpha-occlussion effect also occurs for alpha-less texture, if the length is limited by the "length" setting of the skirt layer. In the background: A block with transparency "1%" (wood), in front of a red block without transparency.
  13. Hi, I'm pretty new. Having issues with outfits on the Slink Physique, if I wear more than one of the same kind of layer it'll make the previous layer disappear. It's usually not on tattoo, underwear, or clothing layers either. I don't know what it would be called, it's whatever items that have the little box next to them. For example if I have a shirt on, then try to put on shorts, the shirt will disappear. I read on the FAQ page that they have a mask toggle thing, I don't really understand how it works. Also I don't think I'm having that exact issue, because the items this happens with aren't affected when I select and unselect the body parts in the layer tab. I hope I articulated my issue well enough. Sorry if I'm making it more confusing. Please help me, before I drive myself mad. lol
  14. Hi, Trying to log into my account the past 12 hours or so has been impossible. I either can't connect or, when I do, none of my communication devices work and my avatar won't render. I tried logging in with an alt, and it worked just fine - it could TP, send messages, and rendered. I'm using the latest version of firestorm on a high end PC with great internet speeds. The issue persisted across the account on two different computers on two different networks (home internet on laptop/desktop, cell phone hotspot to both as well) as well as Luminya on my cell phone. The problem was present before updating Firestorm and my laptop is still running the older version. I've tried logging out and choosing home or different bookmarks to spawn at with no luck. Reset both computers. Checked antivirus. Disabled antivirus. Waited several hours. No luck. Tried stripping my avatar of everything he was wearing. I was playing just fine last night, so I don't see what the problem is. Edit: I'm also sometimes getting an error telling me my computer's clock is wrong, but it's synced to the internet and matches my phone's time. I can no longer log in on either account now.
  15. Hello everyone who might be reading this! I'm concerned. Yesterday and the day before I had problems rezzing up to yesterday afternoon where I suddenly couldn't log in at different times. The loading bar kept freezing at "waiting for region handshake". There may be a problem with your connection or the Second Life Grid." https://gyazo.com/6ba6af7ffacbcbafcb6d31982953c903 I just installed Firestorm (v. 5.0.11.53634) anew - because of previous rezzing trouble - and my connection was totally fine, so I kept trying different regions. Eventually, it let me back on, albeit with a lot of being logged out by the viewer. This now seemed to have solved itself. But ha, with every relog the shape I was currently wearing suddenly "could not be found", even the copies don't work anymore. https://gyazo.com/260372f3836d32dce63c318243ff8c18 These are my shapes I made myself, and I'm afraid they somehow got corrupted. Obviously, I'm not IT and have no knowledge of how this could happen/how to troubleshoot this, other than trying to repeatedly delete my inventory cache to make sure this wasn't happening just from my end. I have filed two tickets by the way, about not being able to log in and about the inventory problems ( #1225264 and #1225467 ). But no response yet. EDIT: I forgot to mention that my inventory is loading properly now, all 151,756 items are there. :') They just don't work properly. Halp ? So my questions are; Does anybody know how I can solve the "Failed to find bodypart"-problem? And how long does it usually take before LL looks at a ticket and gets back to you? Thanks up front!   16. I think i found a bug in the Belleza V5 -BENTO- 2018 body. There is a new updated Dev Kit for this body and all appliers which were created with the previous Dev Kit will no longer work. I tested it with all appliers for belleza that i found in my inventory and none of them works any longer, they are dead, they do nothing. I asked then the creator from Lo's Inspiration for help with a outfit, she sent me a applier to make sure that the one in my inventory wasn't damaged and that applier was as dead as the one which i had already. She then head to the Belleza Shop, grabbed the updated Dev Kit, created a new applier and that new applier worked like a charm. She did not test if the new applier works with the older body. It seems the Belleza V5 -BENTO- 2018 Body is incompatible with appliers which were made with the older Dev Kit (and this renders all already existing appliers in the MP useless until the creators update them with the new Dev Kit).
  17. So my friend and I often like to go to this sim and occasionally my avatar will completely vanish from his view. It'll say I left his chat range, I am not on the minimap even though I can still post and chat with him and still be shown nearby in the list of avatars. As far as I'm aware I'm still visable to others but is it something wrong with me or them?
  18. I just started having giant angled planes appear in world in Kama City. I thought it was a viewer problem, but it's happening on both a Linux machine running Firestorm and a Windows 7 machine running the LL viewer. Current LL viewer, Windows 7 64-bit Firestorm 5.1.3, Linux 64-bit Is this a bug, or some kind of griefing? In Rhodenwald and other places in Kama City.
  19. Hi everyone! Since yesterday evening, I'm unable to login into SL (Using Firestorm x64 v.5.0.11.53634 on Windows 10), despite SecondLife server stauts says that All servers are Up. I Didn't done any Windows update, network changes and such, it just remain stucked at "Login in Progress" screen, and after a while appear the Error message "Despite our efforts, we're unable to connect you" (or a stuff like that). Someone could help me or Tip me what to do, over to restart the Pc and the Modem? Thanks!

  21. I've been trying to help my friend fix her camera angle and I'm going nuts. It only happens to her on a specific character. It stays overhead all the time. No matter how many times things have been set to default, or have gone into camera settings and tried to fix it. I logged in her character and had the same problem. I googled and tried everything I read from going into the advance menu and resetting camera focus things to adjusting it under the mouse/viewer settings. Nothing is helping her. The black bar at the top of the picture is where the second floor starts of the house. It's much worse, but I had to cut the picture down to be able to upload it here. She's currently using Firestorm, the most recent version. Thanks in advance
  22. About a year ago in some sims land/terrain started sinking(first report i have: http://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2017/05/second-life-land-new-world-notes-sinking.html). Is possible that this is what caused objects to suddenly interfere with vehicles on the lindens roads, like what happened with animats(https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/418728-encroachment-on-robin-loop/). I am nor sure if ll found out what caused it, or if they fixed it. So, it might be a good idea not to start accusing landowners along the roads of blocking vehicles, and causing them all kinds of problems(like temp bans)...

  24. I'm noticing a weird issue that's been happening since some time last year, using the latest updated Firestorm viewers. I will be on my parcel either on my parcel in the Mainland sim, or my rented home on a private sim (parcel not owned by me), and while watching my own TV (same media URL set to a prim on both parcels), there's a completely random chance at seemingly completely random timing where some weird music or sound plays on a new instance of slplugin.exe... on my mainland parcel, it was a j-pop song, the same song that would play each time it happened. On my rented home at the private sim, it's always playing some kind of kids show about humpty dumpty (one friend confirmed the same happening to him)... I could be sitting in the same parcel doing absolutely nothing but watching the TV I set, and it will randomly play after several hours of just being there. It's so bizarre. Where even is this music coming from? Is it somehow grabbing the media from a neighbor's parcel or a random sim's parcel? Is it some form of advertisement by LL? While I have my preferences set to make media volume adjust based on camera distance from the media source (like my TV)... these weird "popup" media I keep hearing are not affected by my camera distance at all. Has anyone else gotten this issue? I'm not really sure what this is... but we could never figure out what is really causing it. There's nothing out of place on the land information's sound or media, and no foreign objects on the parcel that should cause it. So far, the only solution I could find to deal with it is, whenever it pops up, going into the Volume Mixer of my PC, and muting the new offending slplugin.exe... but I'd like to know if there's a permanent solution, because it always starts up really loud and scares me.

Hello, my name is Zedd and recently I bought a cheap cassette player for my avatar and while that was fine and dandy it charged me $1.03 for the remaining balance and said the rest would be added as Lindens because at the current rate $1.03 is $251L. However when the transaction was complete I did not receive the rest of my Lindens, I even checked my bank statement and $1.03 had been taken out. I was wondering if there's any way I could get the rest of my Lindens and that would be okay or if there was something else I may need to do. Thanks!
