  1. I did the same after reading your post, and I was blown away by how quickly and successfully LL was able to revive not only my oldest existing avatar (April 2006), but an alt I totally forgot about that I made a year later! OMG I did not think it was possible! Good thing I am sentimental so I remember all the answers to the security questions even though the email address linked to both avatars has been shut down long ago. In my case, the inventory and contacts for both avatars have been wiped out and I had to choose one of the newer starter avatars because the outfits were empty. I kind of feel bad about losing my bling heel collection but maybe that is for the better lol
  2. Random haunts: Mainland and Bellisseria shores while on our yacht 95% of the time tonarino when I want peace and quiet because it reminds me of my hometown The Bali-inspired retreat and Zen garden in Quinarius Lush landscapes like the Soul2Soul series, or It All Starts With A Smile @ Eventide South Koreatown and the Indian shisha den in Kiyori where I am incessantly AFK while working, or pretending to be lol I no longer frequent bars but when I do, it’s jazz lounges like sanmyaku / Pino 1971 or Frank’s
  3. I am quite attached to the way I look so I no longer shop for avatar components like head, body, hair, or skins but my permanent look consists of a base body applier by DeeTaleZ, base facial skin + makeup layer by MUDSKIN, hair by DP*Yumyum, tram, or MONSO. Those are really excellent brands for skin and hair if you are assembling an Asian avatar. Other creators I like: Clef de Peau, BOATAOM (needs more recognition imo), Bold & Beauty, L’etre & Doux I am also tattooed and my favorite artists are DAPPA, Vegas Tattoo, and Garden of Ku For outfits, I shop mostly at Vive Nine, Belle Epoque, and Asteria. All three participate in weekend sales so I usually visit on Saturday. I only go to ROZOREGALIA and MANDALA for jewelry and then ROSARY for my nail extensions. For shoes, I love Garbaggio!!! For only L$50 you can join the group and get all the monthly group gifts from 2017-2019. That’s like 36 pairs of shoes!!! It put an end to my shoe addiction... well, ok, I relapse sometimes lol For houses and furniture, I also posted in that home decor thread:
  4. I recall a few cyberpunk themed items being given away for free at KROVA and 0壱ZEROICHI. Also join the in-world group Second Life Syndicate, many of the participating stores are in the style you are into and they sometimes have free gifts at events and at their mainstores.
  5. First joined in mid 2006, but I was only sporadically active for a few months due to studies. Came back 4 years later under this account. I forgot my full name for the older account and I no longer have access to the email associated with it so I cannot retrieve it.
  6. People who had your card before the name change will always see your former legacy name. Same happens when you drag your calling card to a notecard, it will display the old. I found out when I applied at the DMV at my community, it kept showing my old name on the application form so I just wrote it manually. It may seem like a minor issue but I hope it would be fixed.
  7. I always thought amiable by Nodoka Vella had a very charming countryside/cottagecore vibe. Here is her most recent release:
  8. That is soo adorable! Where I am from I see women of all ages wearing that style, go for it!
  9. Each LeLutka head comes with a folder full of add-on BOM layers that you can wear to give detail to or age your avatar’s face, I use the Mature (Lgt/Med/Drk) and Smile Lines (Lgt/Med/Drk) to make my men look older. As mentioned, you can also set your HUD to Mature. I am not sure how mature you wish to appear, but there is a skin shop that specializes in older looking avatars called POEMA. Here is one of their skins: If this looks too old or rugged for you, what you can do is get a high-definition skin from any of the popular brands (I recommend Stray Dog, Clef de Peau, Finer Threads, Vendetta, RAONHAUSEN) and then just add BOM layers like eyebags or wrinkles to age it just a little bit. Izzie has a set of face wrinkle tattoos that were made originally for women, but some of the layers sit well on male faces. You can try the demo first.
  10. Our chances at winning either a trad along the northern coastline or a houseboat with access to mainland shores seem to remain bleak so we decided to take a break from GoH and live like sailors on our actual moving, cruising houseboat. The kids don’t seem to have a problem with our living situation for now. If they want to swim or go scuba diving they can just change into their swimsuits and jump any time. We get to catch and eat fresh seafood every day as well. Today we are passing by Littoral Truth, the name alone makes me want to land a house here even if I am not crazy for stilts.
  11. There are many and it is not clear to me what style of house you prefer (cottage, modern industrial, etc.), what you consider “low-prim,” what your friends’ house looks like, ... but for now these come to mind: Bad Unicorn - Rohe House (L$450 25 LI) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Rohe-House-Modern-Lake-House/18182870 I have this built as a guest house on my mainland residence and you could fit living, dining, kitchen, bed, and bath in it. Easy to decorate; here is what one interior designer did with it. Bad Unicorn - Scenic Suite Building (L$599 15 LI) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Scenic-Suite-Building/19309395 At one point I actually stacked this on top of the Rohe House (with custom stairs) so I could have another space available for rent but I was down to my last 200 prims and I tend to decorate crazily. Plus a neighbor who recently moved in rezzed it on their land so I just took it down, but I still think this is a lovely tiny house. Bad Unicorn - Eco Abode Modern Home (L$599 25 LI) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Eco-Abode-Modern-Home/19678506 ...and its smaller sister, Lonely Lodge (L$250 9 LI) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Lonely-Lodge-Modern-ShedCabin/18183226 You did say you only need space for a bed and a table so maybe this is enough? Comes with a fireplace, too. Lastly, the ubiquitous Studio Guest House by Fancy Decor (L$350 17 LI) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Fancy-Decor-Studio-Guest-House-black/19146737 Only 9.5 x 4.9 meter footprint, comes in silver too, enough for a bed and table. I see this in a lot of modern residential communities as a guest house. Just some random suggestions, I hope you find the one you like!
  12. Just exchange calling cards and utilize contact sets. I stopped friend-ing and accepting FRs since 2011. And I lived happily ever after!
  13. Sad news: I just learned today that KINTSUGI closed down ... Another breathtaking sim vanished 😕
  14. This happened to me today. I have AMD Radeon RX 570 and tried turning off ALM before logging-in according to this thread and it worked temporarily but what really resolved the issue for good was downloading drivers from the official site: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/radeon-500-series/radeon-rx-500-series/radeon-rx-570
  15. Not sure what is “unique” to you and I wanted to recommend my favorite brands but some of them sell items a little higher than L$300: Belle Epoque, Vive Nine, Asteria. These three regularly participate in L$25-60 weekend sales and Asteria has some really nice giveaways at the entrance. I also regularly visit Mimikri, Bauhaus, Violent Seduction, and Shi. For events and dressier occasions, I shop at David Heather, Thalia Heckroth, Dead Doll, Fellini Couture, Moon Amore. When I was working as a dancer, 95% of my wardrobe was from Moon Elixir x MUSE... I could go on forever, I obviously have “Becky Bloomwood syndrome” lol Now if you want something really bizarre and avant-garde for editorial style photoshoots, I recommend Japanese designers HITOGATA+Yome Shoujo. Low priced items, big boxes of gifts, funky and truly one of a kind.
  16. This will be redundant but I love DeeTaleZ in Celtic! Pale but with a subtle rosy glow and incredibly detailed. Perfect body skin too!
  17. Struggled with the same issue. What I did was turn off ALM at login and everything went back to normal. You may turn it back on when you are in-world.
  18. Nothing whimsical or profound behind it, my name is basically how most Japanese people pronounce “humor.” I never take things too seriously, but many people on SL do.
  19. OK so this might be an unusual choice of ride to sail the stilt or houseboat regions, but my daughter got herself one of these and it reminded me of this thread. Cyan is being given away for FREE this weekend, while the rest of the colors are available for L$50 each. Looks cute and magical! Squeeeee! 20. Until January 8, Semller is offering group gift fatpack + 30% refund sale. The group is free to join for a week and I thought this was a very nice NY gift for male AND female avis (includes Maitreya and Legacy). Looks cool and super customizable, too! You’re welcome!
  21. The sandbox in Kowloon is a bit obscure and secluded, you just need to join the group neokowloon net (no join fee). The rez area is not a wide parcel, but I can guarantee you that it is very safe from griefers and you can unpack boxes and do your business peacefully. Just be responsible for your mess as there is no auto-return. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/kowloon/25/63/26
  22. UGH I hate gacha-only stores with a passion too, but I love houses by those two so I cannot help but blow L$$ on their RARE resellers on the marketplace
  23. I have been living in the Bellisseria continent since January so 95% of who I meet and spend time with nowadays are my neighbors who also happen to be some of the nicest people I have ever met on SL. The community is quite active with events almost every other day, mini-groups based on interests like Bellisseria Bike Drive & Scoot, and we have public hangouts like the Belli Blues Cafe. You do not need to be a premium member or Bellisseria resident to attend events here. Everyone is welcome, and I do not know of any other community on SL that is more inclusive and welcoming than Bellisseria. Outside of Belli, I always meet very kind souls and intriguing personalities while out driving or sailing on the mainland. Grid drivers, boat owners, car designers, GTFO couriers, fellow explorers, region crash victims (lol), so on... I also meet very helpful like-minded people while creating and tinkering with things at Builders Brewery.
