Sorry to contribute nothing new, but everything you said is 100% spot-on! Ditto! Private estates make me feel like an earthbound spirit who is imprisoned in an inaccessible dimension like the deceased couple in Beetlejuice; beautifully landscaped but desolate, no world to explore beyond illusory sim surrounds. I love mainland because I love being a part of the vast world that drew me to SL in the first place. The interconnectedness, the diversity, a world that is only limited by your imagination (or graphics card XP) and being a witness to other residents’ inner worlds made manifest through their habitat and creations – yes, there is beauty even in things that you may perceive as cancerous or grotesque and unlike RL you can just derender what you’d rather not see. We experience life in such contrasts after all. The pains and perils, and the ways we overcome and outlive them on mainland, contribute to the excitement for me. A great amount of time I spend in-world is relishing the joy of being able to drive, sail, or fly across continents from my little corner, discovering something new each day, and being humbled by the truth that you really have not known or seen everything and you are just a tiny speck in the grid/universe.

Discovered a new brand via IG: IXO Home This bed is being sold for $499 in-world while the entire set is L$1299 They also have a room set for babies. At the moment the crib is deco-only but I was able to have a chat with the creator while I was there and she said she is working on the animations so Toddleedoo/Bebe kids can use it too. Yes, it is quite A LOT to furnish so I just let my friends decorate it. Still WIP, mostly unfurnished, but I only stay with them because of the location (roadside and nearby access to water) and spend more time out exploring. It’s one of those homes that look breathtaking outside but I feel dizzy inside because of too many rooms lol

Crazy rich friend bought several adjacent plots to turn into a miniature Paris with its own Eiffel Tower and let me live with them. The build is the majestic Grand Hotel de Bouillon by Marie de Polignac merged with some parts from the Valpennac 1705 by Silex Zapedzki — two of the best French chateaus I have ever seen on SL — with the charming Onsu Princeton in the courtyard. Both mansions had been in my wishlist for a long time but I do not have land that huge to rez either in so it looks like my friend made my dreams come true! I may not have been lucky with Game of Homes in Bellisseria but I hit the lottery on the mainland. And we live right in front of the Eiffel Tower! What can I say? We love being crazy and over-the-top lol

My husband wears Belleza Jake but as everyone here wrote it has issues (easy to live with if you do not zoom in too close) and he only keeps it so he will not have problems buying clothes. He started out with Slink Physique and while I still think that is the most aesthetically pleasing male body (I prefer slim swimmer type body), the lack of designer support was just too depressing. He also got Legacy during the Black Friday sale but it was a big mistake even at a discounted price because it is so glitchy and laggy. Do you think it’s a compliment to hear “Honey, your body is so ... umm, so complex (avatar complexity)!” or “Your body is stunning, everyone is stunned ... no, the sim is stunned because that body is lagging everything else!”
