  2. There are still quite a few creators that include system layers in their makeup packs, though that number is dwindling. Often the best place to find system makeup layers is via the MP. The "best" is quite subjective
  3. Did you test a variety of windlight settings? Lighting is usually what causes the line to be seen or not - assuming that either the skin truly does not match up and/or the body/neck sizing does not truly match up.
  4. The display is somewhat misleading. Total group land is 5120. Due to the 10% bonus, the group really only requires 4656 tier to cover the 5120 sqm of land -- divide the 5120 by 1.1 to get that value, rounding up. Your 5120 donation minus the required 4656 leaves 464. Even though it only shows 464 available, because of the 10% bonus you really can add 512 sqm to the group: Current land of 5120 + 512 more = 5632 sqm total - divide by 1.1 to get 5120, which is the tier needed to cover 5632 sqm of group land
  5. It worked for me the other day - though there were only about a half dozen folks there at the time
  6. Go to your dashboard and on the left side under Linden Exchange, click on Manage then click "Sell L$" under that - the fee to sell is 3.5% of the transaction. This is called "Process Credit" and can be done from your dashboard also - under the 'Manage' section of Linden Exchange, down near the bottom (note that if you actually have a US $ balance, there might be a 'Process Credit' link right next to that value on your Account Summary page). Your US $ balance can be transferred out to a PayPal account, but not back to a credit card so if that happens to be your current specified payment method, you'll need to add PayPal. The fee to do this transfer is 2.5% (with a minimum of $3.00) and you must be transferring at least $10 after fees. Also note that if your PayPal is a foreign currency there will likely be a PayPal fee for converting. Most definitely - especially by folks that actually manage to make money in SL. Use a very strong password. For someone else to initiate a 'forgot password' process, they would need to also control your SL linked email account or know a whole lot about you and your account (what city/state did you live in when you created your account, what is your RL birthday, provide the answer to your security question if there is one, provide the full name of some specified folks on your Friends list, etc....) Here is a link to the Fees info: https://secondlife.com/my/lindex/describe-transaction-fees.php and here is info on Processing Credit: https://accounts.secondlife.com/process_credit/

  8. For me, back in 2007: buy, buy buy without doing any demos, but then spend many, many minutes trying to get the flexi prims on skirts to fit right (and totally avoid all those mini skirts that used tiny flaps across the crotch). Also spend time adjusting pieces of hair - as long as it was Mod. Shoes, thankfully back then were easy - even though our ankles looked horrid when exposed. Then, roughly 2009, I think - mesh clothing, some of which looked nice, but "No, I do not want to change my shape for someone else's definition of small, medium, and large". Thus I still wore a lot of flexi skirts - not to mention that they "moved". Shoes became sculpt with feet and I had to spend forever matching my skin tone - which never gave a perfect match, hence all the shoes had some sort of ankle strap. Today: Grab demos; take time to try them on (unless outfit is on a super cheap sale); note the ones that fit (though many require using alpha cuts to make it work); buy the ones that work and make an 'auto-hide' prim to go with said outfit. Hair is a crock - the mesh ones don't move and the flexi ones are way to high CI. Shoes are now a breeze - the one super, super, super good thing about mesh bodies. Some things are better, some not so much, but it is all progress.
  9. Everything at that store worked fine for me, but there were only a few avs there when I was there this afternoon. @Candice LittleBoots - Have you been back to see if things work now?
  10. Yet, at the same time you previously said that those that stay with a system body and head either have a limited budget or are here for reasons other than appearance - the latter part of that implies that they don't care how they look, i.e. they look bad with system body and head, but don't care - all of which seems to be in conflict with your statement above.
  11. ^^ This. Using a mesh body and head does not automatically guarantee that someone will look good.
  12. We got back home yesterday evening and so I have today to "relax" before work tomorrow. Of course that relaxing includes getting all sorts of normal weekend chores done, but at least there is a buffer day between the travel and work.
  13. This is the photo on my RL tab - I was in a "mood" the day I put it there.
  14. I had this happen once at a place that was super busy. I TP'd out, tweaked my settings a bit for overloaded sim', TP'd back, derendered all non-friends and then clicks worked. No clue why -- maybe there was so much lag, the touch was just not registering.
  15. When I see "Original Mesh" then I expect to not see that same item in other stores. To me it does not necessarily mean that the store owner created it - they may have hired out the work - but I do expect that they are the only store with said item. If I find out otherwise, then the store goes on my 'never buy from again' list. Ditto if I find out that any store illegally uploaded the content.
  16. I think they have a purpose on the ground also - for keeping out people without having visible ban lines
  17. I never knew that. Since I always see both served anywhere that is serving sushi, I assumed it was all 'sushi'. Thanks for that info. Then again, that link says this: "Sushi is not raw fish, but rather vinegared rice that is mixed with other ingredients, which may or may not include raw fish." And "Raw fish is one of the traditional ingredients in sushi " So the rice might still have raw fish in it. "Sashimi is thinly sliced raw meat—usually fish, such as salmon or tuna—that is served without rice." So what do they call the stuff that is a thin slice of raw meat laying on a blob of rice? Per the pictures in that link, down where they compare the two side by side, raw slices on rice is called 'sushi'.
  18. I can actually eat that sort of sushi - I just can't tolerate any of the raw fish stuff
  19. Confirming -- You tried logging in to a different region? You tried a different viewer? You tried an alt account? You double checked your connection?
  20. I am not a sushi person at all, so I vote for street tacos -- as many trucks as the location can hold.
  21. If there were no people there then possible too many large textures and/or objects with lots of bad scripts. If you don't typically experience that kind of lag, then you might just need to reduce settings in places like that or avoid them. Best I know, there is no way to really know ahead of time or filter such out.
