  1. Open the viewer - don't need to log in - click Help and then About. Copy everything that is shown in the window and paste it here so that we know something about your system and settings.
  2. When I first changed to the mesh body, I started going through my older clothing stuff and just flat out deleted items with system layers in them. Since I still have tons of older clothes in inventory that I'm still going through, once I heard about BOM, I modified my clean-out method. Now, I switch back to my old system avi and try on every one of those system layers. I then decide if I like the top/pant/whatever well enough that I **might** wear it via BOM. If I think that I might, then I am tossing it into a 'Save for BOM' folder. Granted, so far I'm not really finding a lot that I'd still like to wear, but the folder is getting stuff. Once BOM actually gets here, then I'll have to re-check each of those items and decide how they look at that time. I did however trash probably around 50,000 items before I heard about BOM though - literally just looking in a folder and trashing it if there were any system layers at all.
  3. We don't yet know what the fee will be for the change and since LL wants to make money off of this, I highly doubt that the fee will be "exorbitant" for the majority of people.
  4. Yeah, but the new one is clueless in a different way. This one is just obstinate and very likely a snowflake that can't handle disagreement.
  5. As others have mentioned, we don't all get the same results on Low settings, because our computers and connections are different and that impacts things. When you say that "others are not visible", do you mean they are jellydolls or just plain not there? Jellydolls are specifically because of the complexity setting - and yes some of the mesh body have a higher complexity. Some computers and connections can handle rendering higher complexity items super quickly - so again, it all comes down to many things that make up your rendering experience. Why is it that if someone doesn't immediately agree with YOUR VIEW, then they much be in denial or rationalizing things? Best I can tell, what you have said HAS been considered. Disagreement with your viewpoint does not mean it has not been considered or that people are being any more biased than you are.
  6. Some Special Place, I imagine
  7. I noticed this last night, but hadn't had a chance to investigate and wasn't sure if it was the Firestorm viewer or a fluke or something I was doing or what. Thanks for the bug reference.
  8. I remember debating whether or not to drop the group - but it had already been quite a while since he had sent anything and he had said it was the end.
  9. This is why I sometimes scream with that 60 group limit. Though, in all honesty, since he had announced that he was done, I probably would have eventually dropped the group anyway even I had been allowed another 20 or 40 or ..... cuz I can always fill up group slots.
  10. Ugh - I dropped the group a while back since they weren't sending stuff out any more. I stayed for a while after they stopped, but eventually decided to use the spot for a group that was active.
  11. Did you actually do the speed test and tracert or did you just skim the article and possible not understand it? Also, since I don't see it anywhere here in the thread, open the viewer, click Help then About. Copy ALL of the displayed info and paste it into the thread.
  12. There is your problem - that is way too high, about 40 times higher than it should be. It is taking you forever to talk to the server. Nalates gave you the link to her article on troubleshooting connection problems. YOU NEED TO DO WHAT IS IN THAT ARTICLE to pinpoint where the problem is. http://blog.nalates.net/2011/10/26/troubleshoot-your-sl-connection/
  13. I haven't checked in quite a while, but someone said in another thread that Glam Affair is no longer carrying any of their classic skins.
  14. But... but... you don't have to work anymore, so why does Monday matter (well, except for the fact that Clover has to go back to work on Mondays).
  15. Sometimes a forum search, often a google search, and they just don't bother to look at the date.
  16. ^^ This The only time you should buy something that you cannot demo or see inworld is if the price is low enough that you don't mind tossing said item away if you end up not liking it.
  17. The increased fee has probably reduced fee income from those of us that pay attention to such and realize that we are better off buying in bulk (so to speak) and can afford to do so. There will always be those folks that only buy L$ when they need to pay their inworld rent or buy L$ via an MP purchase (which is a horrid way of doing it unless they are buying really high dollar items) or buy a specified amount every week/month simply because they always have and it works for them. Those are the people that either don't pay attention to the fee, don't care, or are just clueless enough to not understand how to avoid some of those fees. Since LL has raised the fees a few times in the past year, my guess is that there are actually quite a few people like this - they keep doing the same behavior no matter LL's fees - thus not causing a major drop in LL's income from fees.
  18. It is often considered 'spamming the forums' when the same post is put in multiple places -- and in this case, your other location is probably the better one:
  19. The forum you posted in is a Discussion forum: There are probably other sub-forums that this would fit better in.
  20. In my earlier SLife, I think I owned maybe a dozen chokers - they really were never my style. After the mesh body, I now have over 100.
  21. Have you done EVERYTHING in this article? https://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_bake_fail If not, then please do so, and do not skip steps. Afterwards, if there is still a problem, I think Nalates page has a few more items on it: http://blog.nalates.net/2013/08/23/second-lifes-new-bake-fail/
  22. I'm a tad confused on why your SL friend is "obviously" a male. I have many male and female SL friends.
  23. In RL online shopping I have sometimes bought something that for one reason or another ended up being something I didn't want. Much of the time the return costs me money, unless there is something truly defective in the item. Thus when it happens, I have to either suck up the loss or pay money to send it back and get a refund that sometimes also subtracts a re-stocking fee. I had to learn to make sure I understood return policies before buying online and then decide what level of loss I am comfortable with. Given that L$ are roughly 250 per US 1$, even something that you pay L$1000 for is less than $5 US dollars. Possibly you don't live in the US and the exchange rates mean that L$1000 costs a bit more for you, but I still have a hard time understanding how basically throwing away a few dollars can cause extreme upset - unless you did it multiple times. Also, I'm sure the creator would work with you to get you the fatpack with the gold option and reduce the cost by what you already paid for the one you bought - assuming you might be interested in that option. Side note - I am definitely not a creator in SL. Simply another consumer of the SL goods.
  24. From all that we have heard, anyone that is Premium will be able to change their name, for a fee - though we don't yet know if they'll limit "how often" it can be done.
