There is a difference though. I bought a skin for my free Lilly head for a Lelutka and it does not fit on the nose; it has weird shading under the nose which I didn't notice at first but now I see it; the nose doesn't fit right and I paid 900 L for it. I haven't found a lipstick that fits just right either as I like sheer and don't want a heavy lipstick. Next, I was looking at shapes for Lilly and noticed some skins were "off", even one shape showed a skin with a very visible neck seam in the picture of the shape for sale. It's on Mp but I don't want to use pictures of other people's work to make my point here as that would embarrass them. What I figure is by the Skin Fair I should be vaccinated for one and finances a bit more stable, as well as the best skin makers should be there presenting BOM skins for the Skin Fair. I'm willing to wait as my search has been like a needle in a haystack. There is one skin I haven't tried that says made for Lilly head but I'm not in any rush. I don't just want a skin because it might be a rare one out now made for the Lilly head. I've actually seen another one too but I didn't like the look of it. As far as your other points about lipstick, the lipsticks have always been difficult, that's true. But, I think even more so now.

Would you eat food if you dropped it on the floor?
JanuarySwan replied to Rat Luv's topic in General Discussion Forum
I don't recall ever eating food I've dropped but I have eaten medicine I dropped on the floor. I shared I was in hospital rehab for an injury and even the nurses gave me the pills if they fell on the floor. The pills are put out in doses while the others remain locked so there was no choice but to swallow a pill if it fell on the floor. Food, I can't remember. -
Oh, I see. Okay, thanks. I'm not liking the BOM skins as much as the applier skins. The applier skins and make-ups just seemed to fit better. I will be going to the Skin Fair (I think that's what it's called). I want to see some of the newest BOM skins before I decide to go BOM.
-
Sorry, this is a bit off topic but I don't care for BOM. Can't you go either or, meaning either BOM or non-BOM by pushing a button? The make-ups are difficult to fit for BOM and the skins are very hit and miss on certain heads with sitting off for the nose, etc. Also, I've been trying for about a month just to get a lipstick that fits all kinds of shapes I've tried. Anyhow, I feel your pain about BOM as some of the changes are "wonky" for lack of a better word. Perhaps maddening is a better word. I like this body somewhat...but fear "the Hud" as is often spoken about as well as could it lag me out too much. Plus, price at this time with the coronavirus and lockdown leaves far, far less "play" money; i.e., it's too expensive for me now at this price. That's life. Play money will be less.

At almost 7000 lindens, this is not competitively priced though. Maitreya just had a half price sale, and I heard Maitreya never had a half priced sale before. It's too pricey for the current economic condition to be worth a look even at it's introductory price plus it's not my style as the bum looks too big for my style in that it won't go thin. And, it does look pretty much like other bodies all ready available. If it can go thinner, she should show a thinner also. But, at this price I'm not interested. There is nothing to pull me in to be interested.

Do you need to vent about things COVID-19?
JanuarySwan replied to Seicher Rae's topic in General Discussion Forum
It is not a stimulus for all I meant as most other states other than California are curfewed with bars needing to close by 10 or 11 p.m., that is not a lockdown nor a partial lockdown, that is ridiculous. Not to mention the soap opera in Washington has kept a lot of the news focused on their craziness, people are falling through the cracks here in a "funding gap" meaning the $600 is all they will have to pay for food, heating, rent, etc. Unemployment needs a major overhaul as does monies for those who are disabled. Three wrongs don't make a right either. I'm not here to argue either. Happy New Year, too. -

JanuarySwan replied to Seicher Rae's topic in General Discussion Forum
Two wrongs don't make a right though. And, reading that state by state restrictions above, most states have bars which need to close by 10 or 11 p.m. Oh, poor babies. That is ridiculous! That is not out of work across the board closures like in California where businesses are closed completely. For many, this is survival money not stimulus money during a possible several week funding gap with $600 hundred dollars to live on. And, even if people could take out a second mortgage or get a loan, the banks are closed. Do you see why it's survival money? There have been people speaking to those in Washington to open their dam eyes. Well, they did change the name to the Covid Relief Bill but it's a joke as it stands now. I've also heard Biden wants to raise social security recipients by a few hundred dollars and it's about time that happens. -

I've thought of answering this with a "it's 5k linden per 15 minutes. My boss is over there so don't mess with me." And then watch them teleport out of there so fast. ahahahaha! I just might do that one of these days! As far as Gopi's OP, too much pleasure? That's never occurred to me that I needed a break from it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong here? As far as gambling, I've been to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. It was not hardly sexual for me at all. I wanted to win money! Plus, I went with bf to both those places and we have sex just about everywhere anyways.

My photos improved greatly by doing the above. Plus friends also told me to use ultra graphics for photos, which also helps. If you cannot be on ultra for busy events you could still use ultra just for personal photographs. The other thing to learn where the ENVIRONMENT EDITOR is to change your lighting for mood effects and shadows, etc. I didn't know that. That sounds incredible and the way to go!

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. Who would buy a no mod shape. However, my shapes are different. They are not a human, but rather a completed creature, as far as I am concerned complete in how they are, which lead me to my last question in my OP which is...could someone who had the skills make a mesh head out of my shapes as a guide so they look like the shape? And, @Chic Aeon, thanks for all the added info. This quote thing wasn't letting me quote two posts appropriately.

I have some questions about shapes. First off, if I offered a copy only shape could somebody still transfer it out of SL and transfer it back into SL therefore copying it and selling it as their shape? Second question, should I sell my shapes as user licensed only or what is best in order to keep my shapes mine? Start a FLICKR page perhaps? I am making "other" worldly type of creatures, fantasy shapes, not human of course but they are "partially" human, so they are very unique in that respect. These are not animals but do resemble humans somewhat yet not really. Kind of hard to explain. Also, if I had a shape and if I partnered with someone who had the skills, could they make a mesh head out of my shape as a guide?

The internet is a cesspool of ripped off, unauthorized use of digital content, especially YouTube and social media. In regards to these books, they look so professionally done, I'm wondering too if the writer herself might have allowed these. It's a very cute idea and I hope it all gets sorted out. As far as Disney though, what laws changed?

LINDEN RESEARCH, INC. TO BE ACQUIRED
JanuarySwan replied to Milk Pixelmaid's topic in General Discussion Forum
There have been so many changes recently in the world that have brought a lot of stress, so I'm on a bit of a burn-out. I feel it would take me several hours of reading all those links and this thread perhaps to start to understand it and "see it" as to what all is actually going on here but I'm too burned out right now. I wish someone would just spell it out with an A/B/C/D is going to happen. But, whatever happens, I hope it's not "bad". It's been a stressful time since Covid-19. -
LINDEN RESEARCH, INC. TO BE ACQUIRED
JanuarySwan replied to Milk Pixelmaid's topic in General Discussion Forum
But, Linden Lab could give us full ownership of our items too then? I think LL really owns all the digital content here and we waive all rights as to how that content is used or abused according to the TOS or something along those lines. I read it as trying to make the digital goods we buy the same as tangible goods we buy in real life. -
LINDEN RESEARCH, INC. TO BE ACQUIRED
JanuarySwan replied to Milk Pixelmaid's topic in General Discussion Forum
What does this mean? Does this mean the digital goods we own now we can sell? Say what? “We strongly believe that the future of games and digital property is true ownership; giving players full control over the digital goods they spend time and money acquiring and allowing those goods to retain value in a fair and open marketplace,” said Idan Zuckerman, co-founder of Upland. “This partnership helps us fulfill that true ownership promise.” Available cross-platform via browser or as free, downloadable native apps for iOS and Android, Upland is a virtual layer mapped to real-world addresses – currently throughout San Francisco, and soon rolling out to other cities and regions. Upland’s use of unique or ‘non-fungible’ tokens enables true ownership of the game’s properties, allowing players to sell or trade their digital purchases. adding: from this link...about UPLAND https://www.bloomberg.com/press-releases/2020-05-21/upland-enters-strategic-agreement-with-tilia -
LINDEN RESEARCH, INC. TO BE ACQUIRED
JanuarySwan replied to Milk Pixelmaid's topic in General Discussion Forum
I've been trying to catch up here but there are a lot of pages to read. However, I can see LL having a need to acquire those companies, but this new investing team is not a virtual world, so why would it want Second Life in order to have it die? They don't have another virtual world to merge it with. Any further idea why you think these two mentioned investors would want Second Life and, of course, Tilia too? add: When I first heard of a potential buy out, my theory was the Lindens want to retire. It may just be their time to retire. -
It was the other way around...plus, you were the one twisting words ridiculously to make your so called perspective. But, knowing Kim, she'll have the last laugh. Kim is like "Hello world, here I am". Open your minds to the fact that there are blacks doing great instead of painting it all one way with a stereotype.
-
See what I mean about laughing at it. Luna said she isn't but I see she choose the laugh smiley. Whose gonna have the last laugh, probably Kim, if I know her. And, right Beth, Kim is the only black when I've said I lived in a multi-ethnic community. Right, yeah sure.

Oh, good grief. I spoke about my black boyfriend already. I give up.
